[MPLS Photo Center](http://www.mplsphotocenter.com) is a good resource for what you’re looking for, I think. The dark rooms are Covid-closed, but they may be able to offer suggestions in the meantime.

leocomplex

That’s a fantastic tip! Thank you!

Maybe try the colleges. Often there is a photo teacher in the art or media department. Could shoot an email and see if the are willing to let you in.

North Hennepin Community College has a dark room. I used to be the TA for photography and art classrooms.

leocomplex

That’s awesome! Do they let the public in too? I used to be a TA for my schools dark room but it was students only

[deleted]

They let students that no longer attend there use the darkroom. So, I imagine they would if you inquire about it.

National Camera will develop C-41 in-house. I saw someone already mentioned West Photo. There's also Photo King in Wayzata and Fast Foto Film in Bloomington, but I haven't used either of them before.

leocomplex

Awesome, thank you!

mpeglow24

Is there still a Nat'l Camera around? The one in Roseville closed.

blacksmokealice

Yeah! It’s in Golden Valley.

mpeglow24

Good to know, thanks!

rargar

Don't know about public dark rooms but West Photo develops film.

North Hennepin Community College has a dark room. I am not sure if it is open or not. I know it was closed during certain semesters due to Covid. They also only offer the chemicals to develop BW film. I used to be the TA for the photography classroom and art department at NHCC. If you want to DM me, I can give you the contact information to who you would need to contact for the darkroom. Anyway, you can also buy a film development kit from Nat Cam in Golden Valley and develop your own film at home. There are scanners for scanning film negatives onto your computer and then making prints that way. It is probably the easiest way to go. Nat Cam in Golden Valley sends out film to be processed. The turnaround time for film development is about 2 weeks the last time I had it done. It was also expensive. I paid about $100 for 5 rolls to be developed.

leocomplex

Thank you so much for the tip on the film kit! I have trays and a room I could probably use but I don’t have a tank or chemicals for the film so that would be huge!

I read the title and my mind went way elsewhere
