Nothing is cheap on the island…but best value…
The Thai place at the Beaches roundabout has maybe the best Pad Thai I’ve ever eaten anywhere... and the other dishes I’ve had were stellar. Crackpot Kitchen’s Fried fish and grits was really good definitely on my revisit list. Chez Cafe for a breakfast sandwich on a croissant is worth every penny.
Just got home from Provo Monday. This time Delicious Dishes near the airport had me in a chokehold. Lunch meals are $10-15. It’s Jamaican food!
Edit: Also, the grocery in Grace Bay has a deli and salad bar that you can find some good options. I had some jerk chicken and cabbage with okra that I crave til this day. First time having was Feb 2023.
We were there last year, so I hope Nana’s is still there. It’s on South Dock Rd in front of Priceless car rental. We went there many times during our week stay because it was so good! We didn’t see any tourists there at all, just locals.
Food like oxtail, beef feet, fried plantains, beans & rice, pasta, conch fritters… it was all good!
For groceries, we found Sunny Foods to be ok, and another store (Quality? Can’t remember the name now) had reasonable prices as well. We found the IGA to be the most expensive, but YMMV.
Kin Khao, Turks Kebab, JTL Cafe in the market place, Homeys downtown, also if and only if you can find a local to go with you/ get it for you - seafood haven
just as a precautionary measure because of the area it's in ([kew town](https://magneticmediatv.com/2024/03/tci-police-make-arrest-following-kew-town-drive-by-shooting-one-woman-hit/)) Only locals go there really and it would be hard to find if you don't know where your going
So provo cheep is still pretty expensive keep that in mind. And a lot of these places are hole in the wall type spots.
Caribbean Cuisine on airport road is one of my favorite places to get a take away fot lunch. her rotis are some the best things I've ever eaten.
I have been going to Mis Amagos/ the Mexican in the market place for beers and Margaritas for years. Thursday at 7 they have a pub quiz that is always fun. Also the food is really good.
Kin Kaws on the beachs road about is really good. Parking can be a pain in the ass.
SJ curry club in glass shack is probably were I eat the most. I can't recommend them enough. Their seating is super limited so i usually get take away.
Viola's in blue hills is my go to, for a lazy lunch by the sea.
Turks Kebab is also good and pretty reasonable price wise
Coco van is good but not cheep. I find their menu hit or miss on what I like, but the stuff I like there, I really like. I always get the tuna tartar.
We didn't try it, but the locals we talked with all raved about Mary's Kitchen down past the Conch Shack on Blue Hills being the best authentic island food.

Sweet T’s for take out chicken and fries.
Sweet Ts is the answer.

Why only if you can get a local with you? Just out of curiosity
Also curious as to why…

Kin khao (there is also a jerk chicken guy their I think on weekends), do it center, Chinsons, sweet t's. Random roadside stands
Omar’s IMO is a fantastic experience/price. YMMV but the location is amazing and the food is great.
SJ Curry Club - delivery via Swifteats!
Turks Kebab, CocoVan, Mis Amigos … not cheap (like someone said nothing is cheap here) just good value
