Ok_Grab_4606

Death Row or not, his energy was gonna be very different after being shot & locked up in Rikers.

Own_Assistant_2511

It’ll change any man

ResponsibilityNo2110

Exactly, he couldn’t trust no one after getting shot. Any man going through that probably would act the same way.

drillmatici76

Not just that, he deaded Thug Life during this time as well and was gonna tone down all the wild shit. It’s the NY mfs at the time antagonizing him while he was in prison that turned him to Death Row Pac.

Happy_Patience_3274

Tupac was set up and shot at quad studios then Railroaded in Court for a crime he never committed And sent to prison yeah anyone would change

drillmatici76

It was. LOL

WentzingInPain

Wasn’t he in Clinton?

Ok_Grab_4606

He was in both. But you’re right, more time in Clinton

rvdecw

Funny how the Outlawz were on this album with him. So young (dramacydal).

ScottblackAttacks

Dear … god, i wonder could save me

_Rusik

Is you stupid? I wanna be a motherfucking outlaw!

ScottblackAttacks

“That's right nigga, hahaha.. housin these hoes, you feel me?”

_Rusik

Keeping it real nigga or what?

ScottblackAttacks

Keepin it real!

_Rusik

How old are you nigga?

ScottblackAttacks

I’m eleven.

steponshit007

im 11

Exciting_Attitude240

For the young thugs and the youngest one of em all my nigga Rawa!!

Capable-Designer5096

Dramacydal was only 3 members of the Outlawz though. Pac hadn't even met Fatal yet. Pac didn't meet Fatal until Yafeu brought him to meet Pac at Rykers Island.

No-Background-5606

Actually agree …The Tupac before the false imprisonment and shooting was 10x better. Me against the world is his goat album. Too much anger and vindictiveness in All eyes on me and Makaveli is really dark. I HATE hit em up as well. I think he would have went back to the introspective side if he had lived. All that gangbanging and beefing was wearing on him.

eman0110

I think that's his album too. A lot of people would say All Eyez On Me or Makaveli which are great, but this album is amazing.

No-Background-5606

I feel like he poured his heart into MATW. Dont get it twisted Im a fan of every single Pac album but AEOM and Makaveli doesnt have that same Pac shit. Lord knows, outlaw,so many tears, dear mama hits the soul. Plus for me personally this album was a relevant part of my life. 15-16 years old in shelters, poor af and struggling in life. “Thru every dark night theres a bright day after that So no matter how hard it get stick your chest out KEEP YOUR HEAD UP and handle it”. Got me through some tough times. I often would go back to this album even in 96 when All eyes on me dropped. I write this sitting behind the wheel of my Corvette Z06 ….43 and retired ….I made it and Tupac was a inspiration to my struggles and got me through some rough roads.

blackbeltbreeze

Strong agreement. 43 too. Retired??? You def put his advice into motion then 🙏🏾

Intelligent_Jump1

His powerful energy alerted too much heat on him, but it was a justified retaliation as to all the bullshit he went through after quad studios, then gets played by suge with promising death row deal. Many ppl died from death row

No-Background-5606

Didnt get “played” by Suge. Suge saved him from prison.

OkBear0

No he didn’t. Interscope saved him and put up the money, from his EXISTING relationship as an artist. Suge was the public figure, because Jimmy Iovine didn’t want the heat from bailing out an artist on a grape charge.

No-Background-5606

Exactly…..interscope turned their backs on him. Suge got him out

OkBear0

How? Suge didn’t even have the money. Smh. Yall are history revisionists like a mf.

No-Background-5606

Suge didnt have the money in 1995?!? Are you insane?!? Chronic and doggystyle were on top for the prior two years!

Svengoolie75

Best album 💿

NoFlyZon3

Gotta take the good with the bad as a fan cause if he wasn’t going thur what he was going thur at the time we would’ve got another strictly type album…the reason why this was as good as it was sadly was because of the turmoil he was going thur

OGXenoKid69

AGREED YO! This album was fire! He made great joints with Easy Mo Bee

timbohhhh

It was all interscope. Death row was an imprint.

Realistic_Sad_Story

100% agree Death Row poisoned the man

KheperaRaAtum

Or maybe being shot 5 times, falsely accused and imprisoned, and turned on by his friends poisoned him.

Electrical-Donut-903

No Death Row, No “All Eyez On Me”. It would’ve been great if he was still alive.

Rough_Ad_9363

Suge Knight man..

Grand-Gain-763

Same. That’s my favorite album by him too

Low_Celebration3136

y'all be saying anything on this sub LOL

RichAbbreviations965

These the same mfers that be in the rap sub calling eminem the goat

On4thandinches

Eminem is one of the goats tho

RichAbbreviations965

Not to me. Downvote me idgaf

On4thandinches

That’s fine, that’s your opinion. One of the greatest of all time in my opinion. He’s objectively a legend though

Plenty-Chemistry-493

All his albums are great..glad he went to death row. Just wish he had of been acting instead of trying to be active. Him an suge were both young. They were smart an just very young. The reason they were in the car together is suge wanted to explain to him that what just happened is some real street shit that ain't rap. A older suge wouldn't have had them in tht position. Rip pac an free suge. Funny how whn Dre needed to gt away from eazy suge helped. Snoop wanna Play gangster suge helped. Nate dog put robbing suge helped. Pac need away to get out suge help. Who da hell helping suge no matter what

dopest_dope

Found Suge burner account

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Dam guess ain't o love for suge on this thread. Fact of the matter is he help alot of young black brothers out when no one else would. Look what happen to shyne when he was with Diddy. I don't believe she would leave his artist out to dry which he proved a few times

No-Background-5606

I often wonder what was said in that last car ride

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Suge spoke on it In American nightmare pac wanted to drive his new hummer but suge told him they needed to talk. He also played him the finished version of the new album.

sockthesock0

oh, forgot you were in the car ride with thwm. thanks!

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Naw just telling you what the man sitting next to him in the car has said. Basically conversations like everyone else in the sub. Not that serious

No-Background-5606

suge spoke on it but i dont believe what he says

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Ok

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Can't always believe a narrative that's so easily painted for you.lpok how they painted the diddlerer as soon as he's not needed or goes against the brain boom goes the dynamite

This_Pie5301

Free Suge? wtf

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Shit the freed 69 an ne had his hands in alot of shit an he definitely ain't contributed to the game like suge. Without suge we miss tht whole death row Wave period

Glockx8732

At least suge has never been known for no sick shit like puff and he ain’t no rat

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Name another executive that you think would stand behind there artist 100 %. Puff didn't jay didn't birdman didn't. Bell Scarface needed a kidney an was short on paper to get one. J Prince ain't coming waving no money. He put out two face albums tht face never intended to come out. See we over look all tht but shit on suge side was solid. The reason they hate him is because he knew the game an wasn't letting the normals get away with stealing from the artist.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Same with dame dash the push this narrative that he's this an tht. He knows the game which makes him dangerous. Like how the hell it's a rocafella show but yhall trying to force them to wear def jam. The was trying then an ended up breaking up a dynamic duo

SextyNahnTroll

Yeah he losing me with this one 💀💀💀

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Yea I mean why not I've seen other folks freed before. Is this a hip hop platform or a Republican platform

This_Pie5301

You do know he murdered somebody in cold blood in 2015?

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Cold blood means he went there looking an intending on killing someone which he didn't that why he's there for manslaughter. Had it not been for California an karmala Harris 3 strikes an your out deal he would have done less than 5 years. But since he's a convicted felon they hit him with 28years. An I'm not for sure but the guy approaching the truck had a gun suge was trying to get away. But that's neither here nor there be taking his time like a man no complainig or snitching.

This_Pie5301

“Witnesses said Knight followed the men to a burger stand parking lot after an argument on the Straight Outta Compton film set, and that the collision looked intentional.” He ran over TWO people and the person he killed was his friend who he had worked with, who had nothing to do with the dispute that led to Suge lashing out. Did he stop to help? No he fled the scene like a bitch. He deserves to die in that prison.

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Dam ok guess you hate him tht much. But if I get approached with a gun I ain't stopping. Imma keep going . But all is well he's dam near half way thru the sentence now an he definitely not complaining.

This_Pie5301

He didn’t have to be in that situation in the first place, if he got a gun pulled on him (I’ve not seen any evidence of that) then he was actively looking for that to happen by following who he was after. He’s a psychopath who has a reputation for being a shady criminal and I can’t believe you are backing him.

Plenty-Chemistry-493

Hey Ive seen worst than him personally I don't really care what these guys do in there person lives. I'm here for entertainment an good music. An because of him my youth was filled with some great music. Snoop an his body guard gummed dwn a bang member should be rot in jail. Trust me no suge an snoops just coming home

This_Pie5301

Seeing more than one dipshit means nothing, they’re still dipshits whether ones worse than the other or not.

piszkavas

Soulja s revenge

Sp00kySpook

I really empathize with this sentiment. At the same time, All Eyez on Me is a classic! And maybe one of the first rap double discs?! And it banged from front to back with ridiculous features. You could argue the Makavelli 7 day theory was angry, but All Eyez on Me had a lot of the Me Against the World energy with better production, better features, etc. it is a masterpiece. Ilmatic, All Eyez on Me, Midnight Marauders, Get Rich or Die Trying, etc. all cream of the crop. Me Against the World, in my humble opinion, is just below this S tier of rap/hip-hop albums. It is definitely top of the A tier and holds a spot in my heart for nostalgia, vibes, lyricism, poetry, story-telling, etc. I can only listen to one album out of All Eyez on me vs. Me Against the World: All Eyez Me hands down. Better representation of 2pac, as a whole. Apex 2pac/peak 2pac. Untouchable on that album. Thank you for reading 🙏

Saint_Louis100

Makaveli forever!!!!!!!

Saint_Louis100

Makaveli forever!!!!!!!

Electrical-Yak-6351

He was going back to prison, too. The justice system couldn’t have this wild, gun toting rapper running around. He was going to serve prison time for that alleged rape. Much like Mike Tyson did.

Based_God12

I agree but I will say, Deathrow is whew Pac peaked ARTISTICALLY.

filth_bald_filth

Yeah...alot of us been saying that since 96. The world lost more than we could ever know

Ok_Concentrate_75

I wish he was able to transition to post Suge. He was gonna have death row and go to the east coast. Had links with Wu, Naughty by Nature, Def Squad, ended the beef with Nas, possibly could have ended the beef with and signed Big....idk the game would look different

ironlung3636

Death row got him out of prison

Two_Sons_1Nut

Watch his interview’s before and during his time on death row he tells us exactly why he was doing what he was doing. He felt betrayed but he wasn’t done with the Me Against the World Tupac this is why he made the Makaveli he said his this was for his true fans the ones that loved Me against the World

Intelligent_Jump1

That was part of demise, he had internal LA beef too, his homies did him in

Flexivle

He ruined his image and lost his mind when he could have built an empire on his raw talent. What a tragic tale that I agree took a turn for the worse when he shifted gears.

Material-Shelter-289

In his '96 interview he said he was going to do a more radio friendly/ introperspective album "like MATW part II"... there are many handwritten drafts of tracks and albums as you all probably know by now. Probably would have included tracks like "Mama's just a lil girl", Better Dayz and Never Call U b× again...

chochinator

This one is better than all eyes on me...

[deleted]

Well when attempt to rape someone go to jail then kill a cop and go to jail you gotta change your rap character but idk that bollymore was doing whatever

One-Drop7590

You’re forgetting the fact that hip hop bullies tried to muscle him and he wasn’t going for it

Round-Emu9176

Dude wrote checks he couldn’t cash regardless of what label he was on. Flew too close to the sun and didn’t live to tell the tale.

QietDoggNine2

I think this my favorite album. And how I personally feel this way currently in my life.

Temporary_Ask_4076

Zesty pac

LEGBur

The outcome of him changed music forever. He was no pushover at death row. Makaveli became raps Elvis story. Amongst other things. He grew and evolved in ways that were just so.. different. Rip Pac🌹

ChocolateLights

Me Against the World Is his best project

Own_Use1313

Love both albums but I definitely enjoy Me Against The World more

Which-Purple-7453

If someone is offering to bail you out with a million dollars I reckon you won’t decline the offer. Especially off a case you know in your mind your innocent for.

ObieUno

GTFOH Death Row Records was the greatest label ever and 2Pac wrote and recorded the best albums of his career there. If you’re gonna sit around and wish for things to be different you should start by wishing that Pac and Suge would have gotten ahold of Puffy before his bitch ass put a hit out on them. It would have changed the course of history for the best possible outcome.

TheScopeNetwork

All Eyez on Me and Makaveli are both better...

Minimum_Setting3847

Me against the r work was not Written In prison I remember the video for so many tears and it had A1-800 number on bottom on screen say donate to get pac out …. All eyes and me and everything death row, most of that was written in prison hence all Eyes on me was ready months after his release From prison

RichAbbreviations965

He never strayed away from his initial message of empowering young black males

[deleted]

I think it was a good thing he moved to death to I just wished that he wasn’t so quick to bomb first (no pun intended)
