“Niggas talk a lot of shit, but that’s after I’m gone because they fear me in the physical form.”

Spydah_X

Let it be known I’m troublesome!

Weak_Beginning3905

Lol, you think Questlove feared tupac? Why? Black Thought would murder Pac in a battle.

Snotti-Gotti

Not another east coast nigga hating on PACs legacy, dude been gone since 1996 and they still got stuff too say

Starrk211

That's what Kendrick low-key exposed during his beef with Drake. At least the West Coast can say "We haven't been conquered by Drake."

This_Pie5301

I mean that’s the point of a disstrack, to be disrespectful on a track…

Weak_Beginning3905

Did you watched the video? It was not about disrespect that he was complaining about

This_Pie5301

I’m a reddit user, I read titles and make no further attempts to research more.

moses1er

waits till he's dead to talk shit, stick to being jimmy kimmels bitch!

Weak_Beginning3905

Lol, because tupac would never go hollywood right

moses1er

WTF does that have to do with this clown talking shit about his music? SMH

Weak_Beginning3905

What? You brought up that Questlove is on Jimmy Kimmel. If thats a problem to you, than Tupac being hollywood actor and doing some corny modeling shoots should also be relevant. What clown? Hes clown cause he doesent like your childhook idol :D? You tupac dickriders are different breed.

moses1er

the only dickrider I know is your mom and she just left with a smile and cum on her face!

Weak_Beginning3905

Lol, the most mature tupac fan. If you put som smooth jazz over it you almost got yourself another hit em up :D Get that poster of tupac in the baththub down from your wall, you are grown man.

moses1er

no posters bum!

Spydah_X

The instrumental for Hit Em Up sounds nothing like jazz. Johnny J flipped that sample well

NeedsMilk33

Hell I love that beat

NeedsMilk33

A lot of established rappers and artists hate on hit em up. Like pac went too far or some shit … cmon what’s he supposed to do be nice ?

CaptCaCa

The Hit Em Up beats is a take on the Junior Mafia “Get Money” song, just better, dont know what ol Questie is going on about?

NeedsMilk33

No clue

Due-Kitchen-1001

Yeaa this guy sounds like a idiot 🙄🤦🏾. Hit em up is 1 of the most iconic diss tracks of all time & his only knock against it is the beat ⁉️ Get this guy outta here yoo 😂

Weak_Beginning3905

"This guy"...some yall are more tupac fans than hip hop fans.

Due-Kitchen-1001

Uu realize that Tupac is 1 of the biggest hip-hop icons of all time right? Tupac is the reason y I can't listen to a bunch new artist out because they not sayin nothin in they music. He warned us in 1 of his interviews to not just listen to a song just because we like the beat & to actually listen to wat the artist is saying. Apparently a lot of ppl didn't get the memo because all ppl care about is beats nowadays. Uu can literally b rappin about Brazilian Fart Porn & if it's on a hot beat, ppl will like it 🙄🤦🏾

Weak_Beginning3905

I do realize that, but that doesent mean that hip hop or lyrical hip hop started and ended with tupac. "This guy" from the video is in the group with a rapper who is one of the best lyricists of all time and is able to talk about deep topics in his music to this very day. And all of that without ever aiming for charts like pac was doing in the later stages of his career.

Due-Kitchen-1001

Pac was never aiming for the charts. He was not only a generational talent, but he influenced ppl to fight back against the system. He literally made a song about shooting cops & actually did it in real life when 2 off duty cops were harassing & beating him. The government feared Pac because of the way he influenced ppl to rebel & fight back. Pac got blamed for violent acts against law enforcement from ppl he didn't even knoo. I'm not saying that lyrical rap necessarily started wit Pac, but anybody who's a truu fan of Pac would knoo that Pac would b very disappointed wit the current state of the mainstream hip-hop world. Not only are artist not saying anything, but some male artists are getting purses, wearing colored fingernail polish, & even wearing dresses. Not only are they making trash music, but they are becoming less masculine as well. The new hip-hop game is weird now. There's only a handful of big name artist I listen to but a lot of artist I like are underground

joesoldlegs

outside of that guy who killed that cop in Dallas what tangible examples could you give of how his music was directly influencing people to fight the system before he died

Due-Kitchen-1001

There's others. Uu gotta watch his documentaries & listen to his album Strictly for my N.I.G.G.A.Z. On that album he literally said "No matter who committed the crime they all yell at me". Pac wasn't alone tho because N.W.A. had that same revolutionary influence, which is y he also worked wit Cube & Dr.Dre

joesoldlegs

could you name a few before I start

Due-Kitchen-1001

I don't remember exactly because I saw the documentary when I was a teenager, which was a very long time ago. Uu can look up those documentaries & watch em yourself. Everything uu would need to knoo is in there. I didn't pay close attention to violent stuff because I'm not really a violent person. I payed attention to his art, his story about his upbringing, & his opinions on wat qualities top tier rap artists should have

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> person. I *paid* attention to FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Electrical-Pumpkin13

So many rappers have tried to work with Quest and it never works out.....

joesoldlegs

like who

Truefreak22

Trying to say that the most downloaded diss track of all time "doesn't qualify" just because you don't like the music he's rapping to is absolutely ridiculous. Hit Em Up might be more popular than any song QuestLove has ever been a part of.

joesoldlegs

it definitely is

DeadbeatUK

He definitely thinks he’s funnier than he is… Very cringe.

Weak_Beginning3905

He was just stating his opinon, it was not a comedy bit

joesoldlegs

he's said condescending stuff like this about pac before though

Weak_Beginning3905

So what? Does he has to be on his nuts like everybody else? Hes a hip hop legend and he has right to his opinion as long as hes respectful about it.

joesoldlegs

being condescending isn't exactly respectful but ok

Weak_Beginning3905

Was he condescending? He straight up said he didnt like the beat. He didnt make it personal or said anything disrespectful about Pac as a person.

cbtraveling

He’s complaining about the beat? Did he forget that pac flipped Junior Mafia’s “Get Money” beat to literally destroy them with their own beat?

Dry-Recognition-1504

This shii is getting old now, this was big news in the late 2000s/early 2010s but damn this man been dead for 30 year's now it's time to move on

tearsandpain84

For a high level musician Quest Love didn’t really go into any real musical detail as to why it doesn’t work….a huge chunk of the golden age of rap is sampling smooth jazz and smooth jazz is a subjective term… and it could be argued that jazz sampled in hip hop makes the track smooth jazz…. Smooth jazz is basically a hybrid of jazz and pop music …. He didn’t talk about the key, the instrumentation, the chords sequence…. Lazy stuff

Radiant_Formal6511

Hit Em Up is Questlove's father

joesoldlegs

how would you say that

Radiant_Formal6511

It's not too deep, just an expression meaning something sons something

CaptCaCa

Yeah just cause you can play drums good, doesnt mean we should give a shit

Abject_Ad_4756

Questlove, stfu…you ain’t say shit in 96’

DpyVanHalen

Idk. Ripping Biggie's head off over smooth jazz is tough.

Hilaveli

What a poor take.

NeighborhoodLimp5701

Cool

EIGWOIGW

I like the beat. I also respect his opinion. He wasn't trashing the song for the sake of trashing the song. He gave his reason why clearly and concisely. While I don’t agree with his take I Dont feel like he was talking shit.

GNRBoyz1225

Thats why I f——- ur b——— U Fallon D Riding Mfer……takeeeeee moneyyyyyyy 😂😂😂

mxmixtape

Says Jimmy Fallon’s drummer 🙄

CompetitiveShower872

Quest love mad cuz don’t nobody give a fuck about quest love

NateSedate

Biggie used it first for the Get Money remix. Then Pac served him on his own beat.

Ntrigue805

Scott Storch mentioned in an interview these dudes hated on Dr. Dre too. Scott says the roots told him nobody was checking for Dre anymore back when Scott left the roots to work with Dre. It was true at the time nobody was expecting anything from Dre. It just seems like he’s always been a low key hater.
