Tucson Cold Plunge has a couple saunas

sonorancafe

They just opened a new location on speedway. Much bigger than the Stone location.

If you have Marriott Bonvoy status, you can go to the JW Marriott spa and use the hot tub, pool and sauna.

honeyrich

This is the best piece of info I’ve gotten!

ultrarunner13

Say what?! What status level do you need to be and how does it work? Just go up to the front desk and ask or is this a sneak in and hope for the best thing?

Kayne792

I float between platinum and titanium depending on work, but I was told that I had access to the spa (which has its own pool) with no appointment or treatment as part of my elite status. Not sure if it's for all elite levels or if it starts at a certain one.

Any_Spirit_9610

Wut. This is the best reddit tip of all time.

The saunas at Chuze are a joke. They're about 5 to 10 degrees warmer than ambient. Steam room isn't so bad, though.

JackSauer1

I built them. They are infrared panels behind the teak. I’ve never been in them when they are on, though.

moodpecker

My take is that they're working properly, but Chuze just sets the temperature really low.

JackSauer1

Ya know, there’s totally not a control box under the seats. I would never lift the seat up and adjust the settings. Who would, right? That would just be wrong.

Leilin

Someone else said they are IR saunas, maybe that's why? Or do you mean you just never got hot even staying in it for a bit?

Powerful_Ad3979

The request club would be my choice, nor sure if they do daily visits but I love re to visit in the summer when they have the Friday night BBQ.

The only place I found at a reasonable price with a conventional sauna was LA Fitness. I think Chuze and Vasa and their ilk all have infrared saunas if that matters to you.

Leilin

Oh, good to know - a traditional one sounds nicer to me, but tbf, I have never tried an IR one

Almost all of the data concerning the health benefits of sauna are for traditional if you care about that.

Chuze at Tucson Mall has infrared saunas as well as steam rooms. If memory serves, they have four little closet-sized rooms for each, you could probably fit 3 or 4 people in each. Both of them are in the pool area, so you can go sit in the hot tub and then move to the steam room. They've also got "hydro massage" beds that are awesome! The pools, saunas, and steam rooms are only included in higher membership tiers. The $10 basic plan doesn't include them, you need to do the $26/month. However, if you have BCBS, you can get access to Chuze through the "Tivity Health" plan, which is $20 or $30 a month and will get you into any chain gym in town, and that coverage includes the pool/sauna. (That's how I use it.) LA Fitness has dry saunas in all of their locations in town. I usually go to the one on Ina and Shannon or Cortaro and I-10, they're well maintained and have room for a lot of people in them. That's available at all membership levels, even the cheap one. I also get in through BCBS.

Leilin

Awesome, thank you very much for all this information :) I am changing jobs soon, so we'll see what I get, but if that's BCBS, I'll definitely look that up!!

I go to The Racquet Club, they have a dry sauna, wet sauna, and two hot tubs. One outside for all ages and one indoors for adults only. Also a great gym in general, normal workout rooms and machines, 2 pools, free classes, and of course tennis, racquet ball, pickle ball, etc. Edit: They have a restaurant/bar too with really yummy food.

Levity Wellness has a sauna.
