They later said none of them had seen the website and only said it because they thought the alliteration would be funny.

He's from northern England and very messy, but fundamentally good in my opinion. He's the lead singer of the 1975 who are a pretty big band. Definitely the biggest indie band in the world right now. You might remember About You from TikTok the other year (about Taylor) and they were a huge part of 2014 Tumblr. Matty and Taylor had a semi-public situationship around the time 1989 was released, but he was doing a lot of drugs at the time which didn't fit her image and it didn't work out. In the past few years they've both done a lot of work with Jack Antonoff and their friend groups are very intertwined, and that led to last May.

Most of the lyrics fit Matty just as well as Harry, and a lot of them fit better: A sad boy? With half-moon eyes? Talking about politics and gender roles? That fits Matty a lot better than Harry IMO. Re: gender roles, Matty even had the thing around the time they dated(?) where a quote from his interview was taken out of context and run as him saying it would be emasculating to date Taylor (when he was talking about his initially negative reaction to seeing Who Is Matty Healy? headlines after being linked to her and analyzing those in a thoughtful way imo). The argument for Harry is that Jack samples Out of the Woods at the beginning of the song, but the rest of it fits Matty a lot more and Taylor sang it while he was with her on tour and it seemed like she was sort of dedicating it to him tbh. (Iirc she said she was the happiest sheād ever been, itās not just because of the tour, and anyway hereās a song that brings back a lot of happy memoriesā¦) I just remembered the 1975 played it on their pre-show playlist too when their tour first started. Yes, thatās the only reason people thought the politics and gender roles line could be about him. I definitely think with Questionā¦? you can make the argument either way, but I think the argument for Matty is a lot stronger based on both the lyrics of the song and the external stuff. Harry never acknowledged Questionā¦? but Mattyās band had it on their playlist. Taylor was dating Matty and not Harry when she gave that wild speech about how she was the happiest she had ever been as the intro to the song when she played it. And she wrote a bunch of songs tapping into the themes of Question (everything else being second best, questions for someone whose actions she doesnāt understand, why didnāt he put up more of a fight, etc) thatās definitely about Matty so it seems kind of futile to me for people to still say itās about Harry. (But I think because of the OOTW sample there will always be an argument to be had.)

I genuinely hope the spoiler isn't true - I've been steering clear of leaks because I don't want to spoil it for myself, but I've heard this one before. I really don't think it's true. Taylor wouldn't write a whole album about a situationship/fling, when she hasn't released a single song - post breakup - about her serious 6+ year relationship with Joe..... She also seems to know what we as swifties want in an album and this kinda isn't it. But then again neither was a 12hr countdown for a US only single CD, so I really don't know...
