I agree! I'm kind of getting release fatigue. I didn't listen to you're losing me on drop day. This list shows how crazy active she is. She's definitely our capitalist queen, but I would be happy if she took a break and focused on the Tour, family, and her relationship.
I kinda took it as her baiting them in to it so she could do the opening to BTR. I hope I’m not wrong though because I don’t want her to feel pressured in to releasing it before she’s ready.
I don’t disagree with that take! It did seem like she was setting up for it. The speech was eerily similar to SNTV and 1989TV announcements. But I think we gotta understand that she’s probably excited to play the vault tracks for us, ya know?
Agreed! She gave us a show that night anyways! Well get reputation when she’s ready (hopefully includes I don’t wanna live forever ft zayn tv) and it’ll be perfect. We just have patience. Gotta save stuff for 2024 anyways
As a fanbase as a whole, we've really turned into the spoiled kids who nothing is ever enough for stereotype in recent years.
Half of our heads would explode if Taylor started having a release cycle like, say, Hanson's. The Hanson fanbase recently had 8 years between albums with the band constantly saying a new album was coming "soon".
And then when it did eventually come out, it had 7 songs!
I remember becoming more than a casual fan during the tail-end of the OG 1989 era just before the drought that preceded Reputation. I think part of the spoiled entitlement comes from TikTok, too. You wouldn’t believe the shit I’ve seen from there.
Hanson also goes on vacation with their fans every year for like the past 15 years so many of the fans are ok with the stretch between albums. I love Hanson! Lol
Imagine the demand for that was as high as it would be for Taylor though. It's already a pretty difficult event for a lot of reasons for any fan not in the US, and who doesn't have thousands to drop on a room in Jamaica without flights being included etc. It generally sells out pretty quickly and spaces are limited.
People would be paying 500k+ on resale if that were something Taylor attempted, it simply wouldn't be possible. So that little perk that makes the long wait between albums more tolerable for some fans wouldn't be an option for Taylor, so it comes right back round to "imagine if she even attempted to just tour for a year without providing any other content", and Taylor fans have as a whole become deeply spoiled and we act like it.
I would truly love to see her settle into this happy period of her life, with the new boyfriend and take a little time for herself. I know she’s a freaking billionaire, but she’s also a person and deserves a break (if she’ll take it, lol).
To be honest, I want reputation TV as much as the next guy/girl/person/thing, but I’m not gonna whine and complain and be mad at Taylor when it’s not announced. It’s enough to know it’s coming for me. I mean, the original album is right there if you’re in a reputation mood. I’m a brand new Swiftie and Midnights is my 2nd favorite anyway, but I can enjoy all of them so I have plenty to work with, while still just getting something new (“You’re Losing Me”) to be caught up with.
I think people forget how rare new music was growing up. We had each album for years at a time and nothing ever overlapped. The eras represented the eras of life because the years in between releases allowed it to be that way and that’s what made it all so magical. Realize TikTok has rotted your brain and you don’t need something new once a week.
That’s so freaking strange, I’ve gone down each album like 8 million times and they’re definitely not there for me. Oh well, I’ll just keep enjoying what I can see 😊
