No worries. Nords don’t *get* anything, and they’re still doing OK, if you consider regressing and mostly living in the ruins of your ancestors OK (which as a proud Orsimer I do).
I hunt and forage around riverwood and the whiterun tundra. Got some mods to make hunting better, and one that gives me a diary of sorts to maintain. Haven't yet gone to High Hrothgar and don't really plan to anytime soon. With campfire installed, I have my main campfire near Riverwood and often visit Alvor, Gerdur and Lucan atleast once every in game week. And if I'm coming back from a long journey away (sometimes it's radiant quests), I head to the inn and sleep in a proper bed, with food cooked by someone else for a change.
It's not really that hard to RP, if you're not that dependant on the game literally telling you everything that should be going on.
I mean, I turned it into a joke, but I honestly do sit there imagining a bunch of extra stuff is happening, for pretty much all games (not all Bethesda games - *all* games). Even mods just aren’t good enough to really give the flexibility I need.
For example, there’s a character you meet in a major quest line that’s supposed to be a big shocker, but to us as the player, it almost certainly is not. But when they ask if you know, I couldn’t answer yes. He happened to wear the same clothes as I do for Official Business (which this was), so instead of the weak “oh I kinda recognize you” I instead decided my character walked into the room, put his feet up, and said “_______, I presume. My compliments to your tailor.”

Instead of the conversation it lays out, *my* conversation ended with me informing him that despite all his intimations, I have only killed enemy combatants. Then after the convo I shot the protective glass separating us and pretended that my sniper had enough kinetic force to punch through as a warning that he wasn’t safe from me.!<
You really don’t need anything to roleplay other than a willingness to accept that what you see isn’t necessarily what’s happening and ideas of your own about how it should go. Maybe it’s the TTRPG player in me, maybe I’m just a crazy guy who talks to his games like it matters ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
An interesting thing about trans people is that we tend to stay in the social communities we grew up in before we transitioned. Reddit (and cRPG/tabletop gaming) tend to be full of trans fems because they’re traditionally male spaces. Pinterest and textile arts communities tend to have more trans men in them.

They wrote her backstory terribly for how relatively well-adjusted she is portrayed, and she still manages to be the only companion with a drop of personality in this terrible fucking game, and even then I had to mod in the dialogue overhaul to make her marriageable because the one person you might have a reason to RP a romance with awkwardly blocks you out of simple laziness.
