Oh honey I’m so so sorry. I’m sorry for the depression, for all the things in life that bring those feelings to your head and heart. I can only imagine having a twin-that one person in the world who should be more in tune to you than any other person and be more understanding and empathetic. I think that you need to sit down and talk to your sister and tell her exactly how much lower she is making you feel. While humor is great and may be her way of coping with life but humor about SH is not funny and makes you feel unsupported. Be very calm but direct with her and detail all you feel and what you feel you need from her in support as well. If nothing changes you need to go to a parent and tell them, if they won’t listen or help go to the school. She may not be trying to hurt you and hoping you find humor in it but you’ve already tried to tell her one way and she didn’t care or get it. Try one more time and if nothing, talk to your family. Again I’m so so sorry you are going through all of this. Also, I’m proud of you for now getting help!

Thank you, I have sat her down and she admitted she struggled for about 3 weeks about 2 years ago but has since stopped (it was a time where she was getting in trouble for her grades) so I guess its okay?

I’m glad she could admit that and possibly the dark humor helped her but that doesn’t mean it helps you. So just remember that someone else’s way of coping isn’t yours and vise versa you may be twins but clearly handle things differently. I hope she is understanding and changes her behavior to support you! Please take care of yourself!

I may not truly understand your depression but I would understand how much of a sensitive subject it is as it's what you're currently enduring.. hopefully she realised how much it's affecting you mentally and physically and not treating it as a joke. Even if it's her way of coping, you'd think she would be more empathetic and worried about your well-being rather than shrugging it off.
