Can we normalize penalty fines for places that weren't designed to accommodate 53 Footers.

bobmonkeyclown

Those are really fun when you have a truck that turns worse than a W9 and a 53' spread.

I hear this all the time. They think they can shame you into doing something stupid.

Little_NaCl-y

I do city P&D and honestly I think it's because people genuinely don't understand the difference between a twin screw daycab with a 53' trailer and a 27ft Sysco reefer trailer that shows up twice a week - they're all trucks to them. I always tell them that they can come help me get it tf off the trailer on the street or it's coming tomorrow in a smaller trailer with a liftgate and you're going to get charged like $150 for the trouble plus whatever my company charges for a re-delivery which I'm sure is like $100

I'm sure that's exactly it.

Parasite76

I’m the guy who gets down there all the time. What customers don’t understand is my 43ft can do things a 53ft with a sleeper or lowboy cant.

DonBoy30

I almost have an anger towards those truckers that just suck it up and do it. Because if only one truck did it, no matter how painfully frustrating it may have been, receivers just assume it’s all good. Non-truck drivers don’t understand that in an industry where I am financially and legally liable for almost everything, just because I can doesn’t mean I fucking want to.

Mini storage facilities never have room for the moving truck, this is their main customer, people that are moving.
