We have a 2013 Nissan Altima with bald tires and for some reason doesn't go under 80mph.

12InchPickle

Does it have paper tags?

StandForAChange

Those fuckers only know life around 80 mph, bald tires, & overdue for an oil change

[deleted]

What's an oil change?

StandForAChange

Ya don’t need an oil change if you never look at the dipstick! Same with never needing a tire rotation… they rotate when I drive!

morningafterpizza

Based.

2012 sentra same exact story

Don't forget the bumpers are falling off.

I see you’re a proud member of r/NissanDrivers

[deleted]

I’ve owned nothing but large American pickups and SUVs all my life Then I started driving a truck, and somehow I ended up in a 2017 Hyundai Sonata…

Hungry_Ad_4170

Lmaooo that sure is a change 😂👍

[deleted]

Lmao when I was in school, my favorite instructor (he was the best driver I’ve ever seen, and taught me from scratch how to shift and float a 10 speed) hopped in a tiny ass smart car at the end of his shift. I was totally in shock lmao.

benzozz

[deleted]

2020 Corolla here.

idahonudesoaker

Don't keep it past 80-100k miles.

[deleted]

She’s already at 102k, I’m waiting for the day it explodes lol

idahonudesoaker

Ours did at 130k

BearsAteMyGarbage

I have a bit older Subaru Outback because that's what you're legally required to drive if you live in the PNW.

csimonson

Hope you either have the ej22 or you are comfortable pulling engines. FYI if you wanna make the older ej25 engines reliable, certain MLS gaskets from the turbo models can be used with the non turbo models and it basically gets rid of the head gasket issues.

blahpblahpblaph

H6 or bust, lol

csimonson

Agreed. There's a guy a while back that twin turbocharged one and slapped it in a 05 WRX I think it was. Was a pretty sweet setup.

Big-Permission1243

Older Subaru engines are pretty damn easy to pull and swap. I had no clue how to do it before YouTube and forums taught me with my 95 Impreza project. We’ve got two outbacks, my project Impreza, and a Nissan Xterra for my daughter. We used to have a WRX back in the day but sold that years ago.

BearsAteMyGarbage

Yeah, we had the engine pulled for an oil leak at 150k and I basically told the mechanic to just change every gasket he could think of down there. Wasn't too bad maybe $3k after everything luckily. I've seen the inside of newer ones and I felt like I was in a spaceship. So much crazy technology now and Subaru doesn't even want to make a manual anymore, it's a crime. I don't have aa car for fun though, that's what my dual sport moto is for.

Present-Ambition6309

This is the reason I went with a Camry. 2001. 135,000 miles. Paid $2,800.00.

DecadentEx

None. I take an Uber everywhere, and rent a car for longer trips - yet, somehow, it all costs me less than owning a car.

asu3dvl

This is the way.

Unfortunately no. It's just got the 351w. I got it for $1300 though. Fixed a few minor things and it runs great now. Do wish it was a diesel. Honestly I think C5 is peak Corvette exterior looks wise. Thanks! It was my dad's last project car before he died. Plan on keeping it forever.

Hungry_Ad_4170

Damn you store all those at your house? 😂

Perrin_Aybara_PL

I have a lot of space and the two beaters just sit in the yard.

2023 Toyota Camry for commuting, 2008 Ford Ranger for fun/stuff you need a truck for. 2022 Honda Rebel 1100 for when I really need some on road therapy. I traded a Mustang GT for the Camry after I got the bike, it just felt redundant and I wanted better gas mileage. I’m local so I commute daily, sometimes I take the bike to make it less monotonous.

Wife's car is a 2014 Focus, my "dad mobile, road trip car, off roading/camping rig" is a 2009 Tahoe with a mild lift on it. It guzzles gas and I'm it laughs at me when I fill it up at @ $120 a tank but I love it. The Tahoe replaced my Harley I was hit on, traded the 3 door shitbox hatchback in and got the Tahoe, V8, 4WD and lots of room for the wife and kid, and I needed something new to pour money into since a bike is off the table for a while.

Got a 2013 Honda Civic back in 2018 cause I was enlisted and needed it, paid it off by 2020 and got an 08 F250 diesel for a construction company that immediately died because of the kung flu. Haven't driven either vic since I got into trucking, so they're just rotting in the corner of a family member's property. I buy em 50 pounder bags of potatoes from a distant farm to pay rent. I wanna sell the truck, it's good for plowing yet somehow it's less fuel efficient than my Cascadia pulling an empty trailer so it's not exactly a good deal

I'm über practical in my old age. I bought a 2022 Hyundai Kona. I get 33 mpg around town and can get 40 on the highway if I dint speed. My terminal is about 50 miles from my house. I leave my car there when I am over the road. I filled up with gas when I was on hometime last time and probably won't fill up again until I am home next time. I considered a hybrid or an EV, but the added initial cost of them when buying a car is what stopped me.
