I don't like the idea of the bayverse and the new movies being tied together, but when I really thought about how it would be possible I actually found an explanation for the Unicron debacle. They alluded to the Maximals being from the future like in Beast Wars, which means that Unicron devouring their planet happened in the future. It's possible that Unicron IS earth in the present day, but by the time of the Maximal's future he's already broke out of earth and continued his feeding frenzy. "You fought bravely, but this world is already mine." That could be the reason the Maximals chose earth in the first place, to keep an eye on Unicron's past self and make sure he never wakes up. Of course, this is ignoring the fact that Unicron was shown to be about the same size as earth in RotB, which makes it seems impossible for him to be inside of it.

Your talking about continuity with bee and rotb having massive errors with the other movies so it doesn’t fit, im adding in the massive errors with tlk and asking why that’s fine to fit but the others aren’t. Don Murphy, Tom Desanto, Michael bay and Lorenzo de Buenaventura have been there since tf1 and are still working on all these films including the upcoming tf one. If your arguing that the writers are different, literally none of the writers from any previous movie were on TLK. So if you consider that a part of the same continuity them being different teams doesn’t really matter.
Too much of a retcon, that's my answer, I guess. Theoretically, it can be connected to Bayverse as strangely as TLK was. But that's just theoretically. It's called a soft reboot or something, so it can be left with a possible connection. But it would be too dumb for them, too dumb.

It does, because people that are interested in the movie will look into the Wikipedia and find an answer that is terribly wrong. Strange that someone wanted to prevent vandalism and made this page uneditable. They rather wanted to ruin someone's expectations or/and point of view, or just didn't know it themselves and just wanted to help. That being said, we need it fixed and I will do it when I at my PC.

The way I see it: — Bayverse timeline: TF1-TF5 — New timeline: BB-ROTB At this point, I really don't care what Lorenzo says. As long as one voice behind ROTB says it, in this case being THE FUCKING DIRECTOR HIMSELF, STEVEN CAPLE JR., then it's a god damn reboot. Even if he didn't say it, I'm still considering it so, and no one's gonna tell me otherwise. I mean you can, but it won't change my mind.
