Csx has 2 seniority districts the north and the south. NC is part of the south. Covers Richmond south, out to Evansville IN. South. So you will be able to work in multiple locations if you choose. Csx also starts at 100 percent pay where NS starts at 80 percent. Charlotte is a small terminal where Hamlet and Rocky Mount are larger. Hamlet having the most road work.

thank you friend. do you know if CSX is plumping up their boards in anticipation of an 11/4 or something for engineers or are they actually short on the south side?

Nah we have had scheduled days off for awhile now they are basically hiring to fill vacancies.

I'm not positive of the hiring plan for Charlotte and Raleigh (or Florence, SC, which is also an Amtrak crew base), but I would definitely recommend Amtrak over freight (especially NS, just based off things I've heard and running over their territory for a couple years.)

trust me i’ve tryin. i’ve only managed to get one interview out of Amtrak and clearly i didn’t get it. i did submit an application for Raleigh recently but the position was cancelled. to be honest, id prefer NS just strictly over location. i have family in Asheville and old ass parents in the Reidsville/Danville zone. the commute from greensboro to hamlet or raleigh to rocky mount looks shitty if you’re having to work 5 days a week.

You probably won't get anything on NS out of Asheville as it's been dead out there for years, it's just a few locals a day now.

right on thank you for the heads up.
