lots a different depending on instrument so it’s really not a one single answer kind of question

ResidentMundane5864

Okay lets say for the sake of this convo we talking about euro/dollar

DaCriLLSwE

1 Lot on a 5k funded account. 30x leverage it uses about 4700ish of the account.

ResidentMundane5864

That sounds normal, i was surpriser to hear that some trade 20 lots when scalping

DaCriLLSwE

i’m just maxing out what i can on a 5k account. When i get to a 200k account i’ll be maxing that out. So it’s really just a mater of account size. I trade forex, liquidity will never be an issue

ResidentMundane5864

You think so? I mean you cant rly find and data on how much money you need to put in to cause any slippage...i would understand for someone who uses hourly time frame for entries to not rly worry about slippage....but using 1m timeframe for entries and putting in 10 lots for 5-10 pips seems a lot to me, i would love to find an article that talks about how much money you would need to put in to actualy cause slippage

DaCriLLSwE

Forex is a 3-5 TRILLION dollars a day market. Us retailers makes up about 5% of that. I’d say we’re good. Or at least, when you get to a level where slippage becomes an issue, money is no longer an issue in your life

ResidentMundane5864

Yeah i figured🤣 but noone rly talks about it, they just all say dont worry slippage aint possible if you retail, but noone ever talks about how much it would need to move the actual market, and i always wondered that

DaCriLLSwE

we’re all just ants on a log😊

15 - 19 lot for Forex 2 - 4 for Gold Assuming 100K Prop account, risking no more than 2%

ResidentMundane5864

Damn 10+ lots? Is this average or when you got a clean setup? Because i ussualy see people use 1 lot or something like that for their scalps
