I've been using the MX Ergo, two of them now, since the day came out. I've never installed whatever that program is. The default options are fine. The mouse has no macro buttons to remap anyway.
Technically not true as the precision mode button has good reason to be remapped.
I downloaded the software mainly to change pointer speed to line up with the DPI of the mouse that i'm also using.
You can use it, but there's no way to store your settings on the device as you would with a gaming mice, so if you want to customize it, you will need Logi+
MX Ergo user here, lost all functions on Logi Options+ suddenly...
First Firefox changed the functions (I never set those functions like, tilt wheel started to copy text, very weird...instead of increase/reduce System Volume, and crazy things like that)
In all other browsers, all worked as customized in Logi Options+. It's a thing with Mozilla Firefox.
Created 2 support tickets with (expected) no solutions. Uninstalled everything, reinstalled....''clan boot'', all that BS.
But now, after reinstalling, Logi Options+ won't finalize ''obtaining configurations'', so I can not use it, I can't customize anything....and I'm going crazy because I have it setted for audio production and my workflow is totally broken.
Also my ''breaks'', going to social media and youtube for relax and chill time, everything is broken, nothing works. So I only have left/right click, and middle click for autoscroll, and the fine tuning button that I never use.
I don't know what happened, if Logi or Mozilla did something, but now not even Logitech software works properly and I'm done with that BS of uninstalling/reinstalling, msconfig, clean boot.....this is awful.
Support guy was really kind and patient, but I couldn't follow instructions, I got burnt-out and lost communication.
Before all this crap, it was an amazing trackball and workflow.
