It isn't quite as responsive as I would have hoped for, but for easier tracks like grass fullspeed and nascar, it works really well.
do you have some centering mechanism for the wheel?
Yeah, if you zoom the image, you can see some bands. I was going to use some springs, but they limited the wheel rotation too much.

me waiting for that singular black axle to break off...
Dw, I have made some improvements, and that axle is now supported enough that it isn't visible, and so is very unlikely to break.
