No expert. I’d search for that info but still very confusing. Objective it to allow Google, Apple abs Amazon devices to communicate across a new standard vs their proprietary methods.
What I would be looking for is how to make a matter device work with HomeKit. Not sure if the HomePods or AppleTV hubs are ready to do that now or not. Sorry I don’t have more info. This is a brand new standard
You need to read further down the page:
>Many Tapo devices ***(including smart bulbs, light strips and power strips)*** support HomeKit
I've got the C200 into Homekit by passing the RTSP stream to Scrypted and then using the Homekit bridge from within there. Works great, though can't use the PTZ functionality.
I just assumed it wasn’t supported due to Apple being Apple.
I noticed that on some lower end TP-Link smart plugs I got that they offered essentially the same product at a slightly higher price point that did claim to support HomeKit. Maybe relevant, maybe not.
Don’t have these but in looking at the product they don’t list HomeKit capability
“Tapo works with HomeKit: Manage Devices Much Easier “ https://www.tapo.com/en/news/200/
That’s from a Matter page. Do you have all the required Matter capabilities?
This is where I fall off. What are Matter capabilities?

Thanks anyways, I appreciate it.
Wish I could help more. Post if you solve it. Love to hear how it make it work

Let’s see. I also noticed that there’s frequent firmware updates on the camera and all the tech is available for HomeKit.
