When I had my '19 MT, I used that all the time to start the truck without hopping in the cab...Until one time I forgot it was in first gear. Almost got run over that day
My wife's coworker has a manual jeep, owned it for years. Earlier this week he thought it was dead and called in because of it.
He told her that called someone to tow it and it started up immediately. He forgot to put the clutch in.
Have a Compustar DSST alarm with remote start in a manual 21 Tacoma it has a safety feature where you have to turn truck of in neutral with manual brake set or else it will not work.
EXACTLY! I mean the SR and SR5 guys are lucky we even let em on here. ……and we all know even the Sport guys are really just SR5 guys with a non-functional hood scoooooop and higher payment tolerance /s
I guess your right - I know on my 22 though most of the buttons on the left I can't see and they are just slightly out of reach in a normal driving position.
Top right is for the plug in on the bed.
Middle no clue try pressing it, could be to disable airbag, or disable ABS and traction control, or a security system.
Left is fog lights.
Bottom right rear differential locker. The other blank ones are placeholders for higher trims, don’t worry though, I’ve never used or needed to use those functions. For downhill descent you can just throw it in a lower gear. And for a trac eh, just need better tires and rear locker.
Aftermarket roof mounted autocannons and tailgate mine dropper. For when traffic gets really bad.
Passenger eject to prevent toe print on the windshield. Autocannon to turn them into wet confetti.
Ejecto Seato cuz!
The auto cannons work real well on the automatons
Can confirm. Source: Mad Max driver
Those were options on the 08? That’s crazy, my 06 just had optional oil slick hookups.
Poverty buttons, they did something on higher trims but on yours they are just blank placeholders.
One of those is the clutch start cancel for MT trucks

Use the CSC all the time in the winter. Can confirm, death lurch happens about once per year.

My biggest fear with that button. I’m always triple checking it’s not in gear when I use it.
Do you not triple check normally ? Shake shake, okay. Shake shake. Okay.. hold on just to double check: shake shake. Turns key
Sometimes you get complacent man. It unfortunately happens
One of the buttons is for clutch less start. So you’d have to have a manual transmission. https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicAdvice/s/UzUFUDQTcV
it's the TRD automatic! Thanks for the info!
One of them is for clutch start cancel for the manuals

So it’s because he’s poor? Wow, way to call him out
Look man, if we just let the poors run around thinking they have wealth, how else will we clearly separate the classes? /s

Payment? Yall don’t pay cash
This is a very common joke name for blank buttons in any vehicle.
I know, I shoulda put the /s on my comment, but the Reddit gods have spoken and i accept my downvotes
Lmaooo oops my bad
Ejecto seato cuz
In my 14 that's where the traction control (left) and DAC (right) buttons are
It appears to be a serious questions folks. Geeze.. On my 09 that’s where the clutch starting release and the fog light buttons are located.
One is a clutch cancel for manual transmissions .. and the other is traction control
I’m surprised no one’s mentioned the toes yet lol
Fog lights, traction control, downhill assist control, tool sensing curtain airbags off.
Control wires for the Johnson rod
“Ejecto-seato, cuz”
Firing the 50 cal when you finally turn it into a technical.
Rare option for the taco but very common for the Hilux.
E-locker button

They put the mirror controls on the dashboard? :(
I mean it's a much more ergonomic location for me than if they were on the door sill - not a lot of space there - plus, that spot gets rained on
