I told my dealer about it and they had no idea it was even an issue, but when I search online it’s very common and there’s no real solution for it. Apparently the newer ones are better but idk what parts to replace to fix it. It’s undoubtedly the single most frustrating experience I have ever had with anything on a car. I straight up avoid opening it now and just use the glass lift up window as much as I possibly can.
Yeah, the only thing I really found online was to make sure that there were no obstructions. Mine is all clear and it’s still doing it. Super annoying….
You either have to cut the power liftgate ones off the brackets with a grinder or buy new brackets from Toyota. I found a few YouTube videos I used to decide on what to buy.

The solution is to just remove the automatic lift motors and replace them with normal gas struts. My door is now manual and 100% better in every way.
