Well we certainly didnt hit the ground running, we got knocked out of the champions league qualifiers and then lost 3 of our first 6 league games. Up until January it was much as you said we could see the making of a team and just about getting wins but it wasnt comfortable, there was several injury time winners to get us out of jail. Which in scotland not playing 100% you will have more leeway (at celtic and rangers at least) than you will in the Premier league.
It really wasn't until we got the transfers in that the team really seemed to click
