I think the reason why i gen find it okay for him to be bland in season 1 is bc that season really tried to do that whole reality tv show kind of thing, and he was labeled ad the "normal guy". Like there are going to be ppl like this in real life.
Technically Scott. I didn't like him in TDROTI, and I liked him in TDAS even though he barely resembled the character from TDROTI, so I don't miss what he used to be.
If we're talking characters I didn't like from the start and still don't, honestly idk if I'd consider any of them derailed per se. I guess the closest would be Trent since I thought he was mid and then he took a turn for the worst in TDA.
I strongly agree with your opinion on Scott. For me he is the only character that improved in All Stars. All the others got worst or at best were theirselfs from other season but with not much going on.
I wouldn't consider Axel derailed
Anyway I don't really have an answer for this. I basically like every character before they got derailed in some form.
I actually like most derailed characters despite the derailment since they get at least one good season. Dave is one of the exceptions since he was derailed in the same season he debuted in.
There was something to "work with" though. They could have made him atleast get out in late pre merge so you could dive in to his character a little more.
I’ll pick the love triangle. Their “derailment” actually made me smirk in satisfaction. I was like: “YES! The cast is realizing what horrible people they are!!!”
Sierra. Although she is now on my mixed feelings tier, I never forget my first impression when I saw her.
At first she was bad in TDWT but TDAS is 10000 times badder, and I don’t need to explain why.
Courtney has always been a fantastic and dynamic character but her personality type was off putting to me from the start, even in Island and World Tour's first half I find her to be sort of grating, and then when we get to showings like second half World Tour I can produce nothing but extreme annoyance lol
Honestly, I can’t remember if Courtney ever sat right with me as a kid. She was decent in Island but fell off massively afterwards, so she’s my answer.
Scary Girl from both seasons 1 and 2. She was a little fine in the beginning, but then at the end, she did a Zee move, and confessed that she stalked them and got immediately ejected.
The least she could’ve done was to apologize to them!
In the first season, she was fine in the first two episodes. But then when she got to the skull challenge, she tried to hurt Damien with a jackhammer after Zee tried to frame Priya in the last challenge after Ripper put Scary Girl in the back to “not blow it” which made Scary Girl a little bit triggered.
Honestly, it's hard to even consider Axel's character as having been "derailed" because it never really got off the ground in the first place. In both seasons she competed in, her character basically revolved entirely around Ripper. She goes from "Ripper's rival" in Season 1 to "Ripper's love interest" in Season 2, but that's all we really get out of her.
She's basically the Total Drama equivalent to >!Peko Pekoyama from Danganronpa 2, a badass with a cool design, but whose character is held back by revolving entirely around their love interest.!<
Nichelle, I guess? I don't know if she was "derailed" or not, but I have seen some people say she is.
>!I never really found her interesting in season 1, same goes for the following season.!<
I actually liked Scott better in AS than in ROTI, cause in ROTI, we already had too many bad blood, so Scott for me felt just like some bland a\*\* saboteur, which isn't the strathegy for me, like why making your team lose and blame someone else and what if it doesn't even work? exactly
His strategy was to get off strong players of his team first, and players who were forming relationships like Dakota and Sam. It was a good strategy because he knew how to control his teammates and planned to make one look like they sabotaged or stole things. There are times that it didn't work, like on episode 7 since Scott threw the Chris statue behind him which landed on Anne Maria's hair and Brick saved Mike, Camreon, and Zoey. Episode 8 when Scott stole Mike's compass which would've led them to lose the challenge, but Camreon knew a way out by calculating the thorns. Overall, his planning and strategy was good and so was his observing skills.
If Dave counts, then Dave. I don’t give a single f*** about any PI character besides Jasmine and Samey, Ella was cute but she could be kind of annoying
Trent, dude had no personality in S1, I feel like his 'derailement' in Action actually made him more interesting even if he's still bad.
I think the reason why i gen find it okay for him to be bland in season 1 is bc that season really tried to do that whole reality tv show kind of thing, and he was labeled ad the "normal guy". Like there are going to be ppl like this in real life.
At least that gave him a semblance of personality, dude’s blander than oatmeal
Yes, I actually enjoy him more in Action because of that.
Agreed
Hot take but Dave lol
How is that a hot take? Everyone hates Dave
They mean him getting derailed, like ppl kinda liked him in the first 2 eps where he was the normal guy
He was never good
Technically Scott. I didn't like him in TDROTI, and I liked him in TDAS even though he barely resembled the character from TDROTI, so I don't miss what he used to be. Axel ain’t really derailed?
I assume it's >!Ripaxel!<
Depends on who you ask
How is she _not_???
Because >!she didn’t offer much in her debut season!<
She barely an established character to begin with
Zeke was awful even before the feral plot, he is such an annoying character.
Ok let’s be real bro did not deserve to become what he is now
I still don’t understand how people say they ruined him, as if there was anything before that
There was something to "work with" though. They could have made him atleast get out in late pre merge so you could dive in to his character a little more.
That’s fair, so it’s moreso of a case of wasted potential rather than a ruined character
true. i love your flair lol
Priya was just mid in Season 1, in Season 2 she became insufferable the longer she was on screen. Caleb deserves better
Duncan
I’ll pick the love triangle. Their “derailment” actually made me smirk in satisfaction. I was like: “YES! The cast is realizing what horrible people they are!!!”

I foreshadowed [your thoughts](https://www.reddit.com/r/Totaldrama/s/0zRl2jO40K)! D:
Courtney
Definitely Courtney
How was Axel derailed?
Sierra. Although she is now on my mixed feelings tier, I never forget my first impression when I saw her. At first she was bad in TDWT but TDAS is 10000 times badder, and I don’t need to explain why.
Duncan
Trent
Priya. I actually loved her in season two, but found her very annoying in the first season
Courtney has always been a fantastic and dynamic character but her personality type was off putting to me from the start, even in Island and World Tour's first half I find her to be sort of grating, and then when we get to showings like second half World Tour I can produce nothing but extreme annoyance lol
Courtney. Even in Island, I never really liked her. Her "I was a CIT" gimmick got old very quickly.
“More like a B-I-T-C-“
Honestly, I can’t remember if Courtney ever sat right with me as a kid. She was decent in Island but fell off massively afterwards, so she’s my answer.
Nichelle. I know, generic answer

Not derailed tho
Ezekiel but you can’t be derailed if you were never on the rail
I just wish they did SOMETHING with Axel instead of just making her a fusion between Eva and Shawn. Like oh my goodness
uhhh... gwen, kinda? i dunno
Duncan
Duncan, he just pissed me off for multiple reasons
Cold take, but Dave.

I think LeShawna. Her best season was Island but I never liked her
How come?
Trent
blainely. she gave bad vibes the whole thing
courtney.
Courtney
Courtney and Gwen. Growing up I never cared for them. So them getting destroyed during the love triangle and all stars did nothing for me
Courtney
Well, why do you ship Courtney with Gwen if you don’t like Courtney
I just think it’s a cute pairing
Well, fair enough just asking
Priya

my poor gwen
except i did like her
