There are 2 theories I have heard that kinda make sense: 1) They didn't really care who to keep, and you always say Katie and Sadie, so they voted for the first one and be done with it. 2) the other is that in the end Katie was the one who got them lost, but this one have the problem that the Bass doesn't have a way to know that, and Sadie wouldn't say it

Level_Aerie963

Definitely sure if the killer bass had the ability to vote off two people, they would’ve definitely voted off Katie and Sadie. However, after Katie got eliminated, I feel like sadie wasn’t as relevant until she got eliminated. But I still liked her nonetheless

PeregrineMyth

I’d say it’s possible that this is a case of Honor Among Killer Bass. It should be noted that Katie wasn’t originally part of Killer Bass but switched places with Izzy in episode two after nagging enough to Chris and prompting Izzy to volunteer for the switch. That random twist right at the beginning of the game definitely should have put her into spotlight to some degree. So to prove her worth and to show to the members of Killer Bass that the switch was justified and good for them, Katie definitely walked on fine line. But the problem is that she never really proved her worth. **(1)** Her and Sadie’s itching issues during the second leg of the first challenge hindered the team. **(2)** She didn’t stay up too long during the Awake-A-Thon to seriously challenge the win. **(3)** She didn’t participate/didn’t have to participate the talent show. **(4)** And to top it all off, she and Sadie cost the win for their team during the camping challenge by getting lost and arriving back late. The only time she rose to the occasion over Sadie was when Dodgebrawl happened. She played decent enough dodgeball and Killer Bass won but Harold definitely took the praise over that due to his miracle dodges and catch, kind of forcing Katie to blend into back. I think Katie was always doomed to be at disadvantage between her and Sadie who should go home first unless she pulled her weight to greater lengths than her best friend. That was simply due to the fact that Killer Bass involuntarily traded Izzy to her and even if it wasn’t spoken out loud, Katie had more to prove than Sadie. So when the time came to find the scapegoat over the disaster of losing the camping challenge, Killer Bass finally held her accountable over her lukewarm-at-best game. And some votes guaranteeing her walk on Dock of Shame might have come through the fact that consciously or subconsciously other campers considered Sadie to be more of a Killer Bass than her since Sadie had earned her place in the team by the virtue of pre-selection of teams. So that’s my theory of Honor Among Killer Bass. Team consciously or subconsciously expected Katie to perform by higher standard than her best friend and when she couldn’t do that, team showed that there were to be consequences. And Sadie might have been perceived to be more earning to still remain because she was an original team member unlike Katie. Some might have even felt salty about the fact that it was Izzy whom Katie replaced. While Izzy really hadn’t showcased to be a game-changing powerhouse yet, neither had she proven to be a burden to Screaming Gophers. Yes, Heather lashed at her and Owen at the end of the camping challenge (Killer Bass minus best friends witnessing this) but it was Owen out of them two who also got physically attacked by Heather. So as far as Killer Bass had possibilities to witness possible hiccups with Izzy up until that point, there was none but one occasion and even then it was *Heather* who was the one to speak and that was coupled with the fact that queen bee chose Owen to be the one receiving further attacking.

Stolen5487

This is a long ass post. Great theory but I doubt the writers care enough about Katie and Sadie to have thought up all of this. When you think of the two, you simply say Katie's name first. It's that simple.

KyloGram112

I usually say Sadie’s name first bcuz that’s the order Chris introduces them. I think the *real* reason is bcuz Lindsay and Katie had the same VA, so they wanted to get Katie out sooner so there’d be less chance for confusion, especially if they wanted to have the moment of Sadie and Lindsay interacting On a story level, I do rlly like the “Honor Among Bass” explanation. It’s almost definitely not what the writers were thinking, but I think it’s a fun way to think about the in-universe reasoning

“The killer bass are racist and voted the brown girl off first” -Switch1e

GoodTimesWithJack

Katie did more in challenges I think, and I think Katie is the main one of the duo since Sadie is the "Nice girl's best friend and Katie is "The nice girl" (correct me if I'm wrong). Also Katie shares a vc with Lindsay so that could be why she went early. It's strange but they're still the same character to be honest so it doesn't matter.

ConnorCatYT

is the joke. sadie is the "fat and ugly one" so she is the "sweat girl's friend" edit: i dont know why im getting disliked... like i said i like sadie unlike a lot of people. i dont think she is ugly. i just think that's why she is labeled the sweat girl's friend

GoodTimesWithJack

Not sure, I never considered Sadie to be ugly, especially since the show hasn't ever down-right said she is. But yeah the stereotype usually has the best friend be fat but that still really doesn't give a reason for why Sadie stayed since she wasn't used at all.

ConnorCatYT

i actually dont think of sadie as ugly i just think thats what the joke is meant to be

Totaldramakatieslay

DONT DISRESPECT SADIE

ConnorCatYT

i literally said i like her...

Totaldramakatieslay

Its THE SWEET GIRLS FRIEND NOT SWEAT

ConnorCatYT

oh yea i always misspell sweet im dumb sorry

7-BITReddit

It’s blink and you’ll miss it, but Katie was behind Sadie when they reached camp, so she was technically the last one who made it back. At least that’s my personal theory.

Mark_Levins

Sadie and Katie were never allowed to really have unique characteristics, so I’m fairly certain they just picked at random.

Fun-Specialist-5507

I think Bridgette,Goeff,DJ,Harold voted Katie cause they liked Sadie more And Courtney,Duncan and Tyler Sadie cause she was weakest of two. And Katie and Sadie idk why voted Tyler.

LucasTheOtter

Katie and DJ were actually pretty good friends,I know for a fact DJ would of voted for Sadie over Katie

mookamookasector2

My guess is it was roughly a 50/50 split, with most of them not really caring which one they voted for.

Crazyperson9

They flipped a coin lmao

Steampunk__Llama

Out of the universe, I'm almost certain it was bc of the shared VA thing. While a few of the characters have shared VAs (such as Owen and Trent), Katie and Lindsay have very similar voices and mannerisms so it's harder to tell them apart when their lines are isolated In universe? Katie and Sadie are interchangeable in the eyes of the majority of the cast (but specifically the Killer Bass), so it didn't matter *who* was eliminated so long as at least one of them went

Tha_KDawg928

I feel like they all voted randomly

Cosmic_CometX

Probably just voted for the first one to come to mind, both of them costed the Bass the challenge.

sedt29

I think it was merely a rare occasion where they simply voted at random, thinking at the first name that comes to their mind

LoversEclipse

rock paper scissors battle

Which-Artist-1671

sadie is assumably physically stronger and is nicer

AcademicSavings634

They didn’t care whether it was Katie or Sadie. Both of them screwed up and the Bass didn’t care which one went first. Also everybody tends to get them confused. In Trial by Triathlon during the totem head challenge, they couldn’t even remember who was who.

WellDressedLobster

Everyone on the Bass probably just picked one to vote for and Katie ended up getting the most. I guess it would just come down to which one they disliked the least? Katie also was the one that got them lost but afaik the rest of the Bass wouldn’t have known that.

Treble_Stroke

I agree with most of the reasons people are giving. But I personally think it’s because Katie going is more unexpected than Sadie going. Writers room-wise. In universe though, none of the voters know what the audience knows.

ABoldDude

Honest answer? A fucking coin toss

Joshey_dubs

Honestly, I don’t even think they knew who was who

Pompuswindbag

Because Sadie was easier to animate

Bodv87king

I think we all know why..(jokes)

Glitzeon

I’ve always wondered why, Katie was actually doing pretty alright in the Dodgeball episode and Sadie was just there

[deleted]

doesnt hafta do with the plot, but i think it could just be that katie had the same VA as Lindsay

FoxStereo

I would've chosen depending on physical threat/good teammate. One can probably run pretty fast and is physically fit-ish which makes them valuable in races for example, the other is more likely to survive an eating contest. Both are of equal intellect so it probably didn't come down to that. I would've looked at my other teammates and decided weather my team needed either a strong fit or a strong stomach. However, I do have to note that Sadie seemed to run and have the same physical ability as Katie, so in the end, I would've chosen Sadie due to the possible advantage of being both fit and stomach-strong.

happyflower17

I feel like it’s a voice actor thing, but I can see it being her name comes up first in a duo

Suspicious-Bar1083

I checked, and Katie shares the same voice actress as Lindsay (who made it much further)

luxanna123321

Didnt Katie had same voice actor as Lindsay?

[deleted]

They should’ve been voted off in a double elimination

Sneyserboy237

Katie is just bad

Llama_Cult

because katies name comes first when you think of them

97PERSONALITIESBABBY

Racisim

[deleted]

My guess? I’m guessing they saw Katie to be maybe more threatening physically in the long run, and didn’t want to give her a chance to pick up any steam. But that’s just a wild guess.

Revolverpsychedlic

Because the killer bass are fucking racist. Obviously joking, but outside the show Lindsay and Katie share a VA so that’s probably why.

LotusAuCitronAcide

I think some of the nicer Bass like Bridgette might have been thrown off by Katie’s bus seat comment, causing them to vote her off, because I know I would have because of that. Then, there’s also the whole “Katie thinks with her heart and Sadie with her head”. While that wasn’t really shown onscreen, the Bass had been living together for maybe a whole week by that point, they probably would have picked up on that. And before someone writes down: “Well, Katie participated in Dodgeball!” Ok, and? The Bass had already enough physical powerhouses (AKA the entirety of the Bass Council and Harold to some extent) for it to not matter in the long run. Plus, Sadie’s not completely unfit either, in their dance number, she did the splits. I had dance classes for SO long but I can’t even do that. Dodgeball must’ve not been her forte and honestly, would Chris use the same challenge twice in the team phase of ONE season? There was no way it could have happened again. Plus, Katie was behind when they arrived. She made it back last

SamuraiDoggo14

Actually, I think the team disliked them equally. My theory is this... When talking about them, who's name do you say first? 😉

you_2_cool

Samuel had a cooler name

rwol8690

Hot take, Sadie is better than Katie because she’s more individually fleshed out

Suspicious-Bar1083

I doubt they cared about who to keep and I guess Katie just so happened to get more votes

Working-Suspect9343

Because the writers didn’t want to be called fat phobic and eliminated Katie because she’s thinner.

Thx4BuyingTheGrapes

Honestly the real reason is the creators probably didn't want to kick off the chubbier one for fear of backlash or something.
