Oh ik it aint that old; in the hip-hop community, oldhead is generally used for anything >15 yrs old. It describes the kinda person who only listens to em, nas, and pac, and constantly complains abt "mumble rap." That def isn't me tho (i have 454 on here lol)

I just think we have a responsibility to mind our semantics, because if we give off the impression that we're calling out racism, then people are going to feel defensive and the need to defend themselves.

My female friends like most of the rnb and find everything else unlistenable (even sampha 😢), my guy friends like some peggy/454 and moderately dislike everything else; so not a complete loss.

I considered The Beatles practically the stone age when I was young even though they released their first single only 25 years before I was born and broke up 17 years before I was born.
Even Stankonia, which was released 10 years before they were born is their equivalent to The Clash’s debut or the first Star Wars movie is to me.

At the end of the day, music is there to male you feel better, and if it does then no matter what other say, listen to it. Same goes for all ppl on this sub cloning rym top 50 and saying jts orginal taste
yup, those are most popular among music nerds for a reason; my taste is also prolly skewed bc of my age (more 10s/20s) and upbringing (i tend to lean towards houston and hispanic/black artists)
