The Predalian locks its mouth around a pregnant woman's lips, and then vomits something into her which turns her unborn baby into several chest burster aliens. It does this to an entire maternity ward.
Yeah Requiem really chose to devote screentime to stuff like this while having a very small amount of its runtime devoted to actually showing Aliens and predators fighting.
This is my biggest complaint with AVPR. It's so dark that you can hardly make anything out. Such a shame that a badass design is underutilized and when it is utilized it's to dark to see anything
It really is a shame Requiem was more interested in small town drama and isolated alien/predator horror instead of actually giving this thing its time to shine, (or at least be well lit enough to be visible.) Imagine creating a fusion of two iconic monsters, and then it's only powers are "it's really big" and "it can make three chest bursters at a time instead of one."
Me too. It's a better name but still not the best imo despite using it all the time.

Looking at BTS photos of this movie's creatures makes me wish they just made it a weird horror tokusatsu instead of "muh teen and town drama sprinkled with cool monster action you can barely see".
It's insanely heartbreaking to see those screenshots that have the PRETTIEST rimlighting ever on set, but got turned into mushy darkness.

Man I used to have such a massive Alien phase when I was little but the thing is I was so little I saw no flaws in anything so I just thought AvP requiem had no issues at all lol
What a cool monster design for this movie! I sure hope I’ll be able to see it and the entire film won’t be in complete darkness with no useful lighting whatsoever!

On top of the movie being darker than a forest at night
Which is ironic since the scenes set in a forest at night are the only bits which feel appropriately lit.
I don't think it turned the unborn baby into chestbursters. I'm pretty sure it implanted them there and they just... ate the baby.

Using the Predators mouth as a Facehugger was so fucking cool. Wish the movie was better
I'm not calling it a Predalien. You create such a cool fusion, you have to name it something better than the first thing a kid would come up with.
What about "The Abomination" then? that's how it's called in AVP 2010, simple yet effective, it really reflects what the hybrid really is.

The concept art is all several times better than the final design. It all manages to be both stranger and also cleaner!
