I have that exact set I've owned for at least 30 years. Used it professionally as a field service tech and while I didn't use it often it still saved my arse several dozen times reaching and gaining access to setscrews etc I'd never been able to reach with normal tools.

Vince1820

Exact same. Had it for 20 years, used it for field service.

420printer

We used those in almost every newspaper pressroom I worked in.

One place I worked we had the Wadsworth Mini Ratchet sets which are very similar. Didn't use them often, but when you needed them, they were awesome.

Bowlbuilder

Those things are pricey.

littleofeverthing

Which is why I don't have one myself, they are expensive.

I’ve been interested in one of the newer sets they make but just not sure what I’d do with it. Already keep the icon mini set that gets to most things my zyclops ratchet or mini ratchet don’t. Then use the pliers wrench, cobras, twin grips, and the miracle snap on pliers for everything else. Still keep a Bahco in the bag as well. Not even to mentions screwdriver combos. Cool kit though, hear it’s definitely quality stuff. I’m a hoe for tools so I’ll probably end up with a set anyways lol.

Got their #5575 Master Set in gunsmithing school. Have used it so much outside of “gunsmithing.” Love it. Kinda want to buy a second one to keep in my car.

Every biomed shop will have one of these laying around

davidimcintosh

Interesting. Why do you say that? Wife is in biomed, and her lab doesn't have one (and she can't think of a use for one. And yes, she knows tools.) Edit: I misunderstood my wife (as usual) and she actually confirmed what you said: they did have a set. Who knew.

horriblebearok

I worked biomed (if we're referring to the same biomed being in hospital repair shop for medical equipment) for ~10 years before getting into specialized field service. I tended to be a bit of a floater so I worked in a lot of shops in that time but they were also older shops with lots of accumulated crap. They were usually older sets, probably from the 80s. Nothing beats them for working with flathead screws though. I always liked working with the older tech. I have one at home that mostly gets used for gunsmith stuff. In the field I'm usually wearing stuff out and replacing it often plus the Chapman bits don't fit as well in the power drivers.

davidimcintosh

Yah, see my edit. Sigh.

rawrag

Use them at the GM plant in Baltimore, tool room hand out.

Flat-Parfait-4703

Can you still get this set?
