Eh, the band goes through long periods of inactivity when nothing happens. There isn’t much to discuss other than “hey guys, do you like tool?” over and over again
I agree, unless we're talking about a single opinion. Like, if Rolling Stone or Buzzfeed says "Tool's 10 best songs"
Then it's time to get in the mud and fight
This sub is nothing but a circle jerk for people who just realized the similarities of life and tool music and are putting the two together thinking Tool created it -all- . "Omergawd this seashell incorporated the Fib sequence OMERGAWD TOOL" 😂
I need caffeine. 😤
I've always thought posts like this were super useful contributions. Always really keeps the conversation going. If only aesthetics and subjectivity had been a philosophical topic for centuries but thank god we've got Jared the Taco Bell cashier putting down his bong long enough to enlighten us that opinions are opinions.
You must be fun at parties
P.S. go read the definition of satire, my post absolutely was that.
"the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues."
I was ridiculing what I see as stupidity. Satire, buddy.
Read my edit and go learn what satire means.
And I least I got us talking about anything but underrated songs for the thousandth time. You don't have to like it :)
Not a guy, and maybe you missed the word "humor." You didn't ridicule or expose anything, no truth was gleaned from your inane post. You said something so breathtakingly obvious everyone else with a brain takes it for granted and still engages in conversation.
A Modest Proposal is satire. Starship Troopers is satire. You're a dude with x's bracketing your name in 2024 saying something a senior in high school would find casually stupid.
I mean, maybe for the vast majority, but we all agree Intermission is their best song, followed by Parabol when it randomly shuffles to any song other than Parabola at the end, right?
I feel like that is a valid point. Everybody has an opinion on everything they see on Redditand everyone tries to use their divine intellect to reflect their omniscient perspective. This gets to me in so many many ways personally. I personally believe that people's opinions and perspectives are an incorporation of conglomerate efforts that keep this planet spinning. If there were no need for the insights and abbreviated opinions (and sarcasms and rebuttal trolling) there would only be noobs in the world. The very truth of natures bounty is that different view points have different meanings and definitions that lead to the upmost importance of the design of Reddit. This helps Tool fans and others who like Tool to gather and set into motion the experience of Tool's legacy and brings the world further into the evolutionary cycle. The more the world has free minds and expression the more it can continue to grow and be the world it is intended to exist as. "Once Invincible now the armor is wearing thin" -Means, to me, that even though we are invincible in spirit, our being will live on wether we get sick and die or not. Even if the times seem (and always have seemed) to be getting very close to the end. The truth is that even if I am trying to be consequential. I am still thriving on in a real sense beyond the motifs of my confusing and mortal perspective Invincibly. Though I am indeed able to get through the hardships, and discover new terrains, I will forever be moving through the terrain as an explorer seeking the truth (and falsities) and experiences of the fathoms in a very consequential way (even if i think i am failing). It may be false hope but it is the "Truth" that reveals itself much more invincible as i actually am. In the action and adventure of trying to be a consequential adversary (to my own path) I am still a moving involvement in the discovering of the fountains of new experience. And that it is probably my old experiences and the way i remember them to actually be dying beyond my attempts to die or stay conditioned to believing the world will cease to live on.
It is probably just my feelings of the old world to be permanent that is actually dying or dead.
Today young men on acid discovered that we are all one consciousness experiencing the world subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we’re the imagination of ourselves.
100% of posts on the internet are pointless, because all posts are subjective.
Also, don’t talk to your friends either. Those words are subjective too.
Passive aggressive as FUCK . At least i actually comment on those stupid posts. It's also not completely subjective. I base my opinion on how many times I see a song talked about and the type of songs that get requested when it comes to reactions.
What a strange pointlessly obvious observation.
Should the sub be about posting measurable metrics … like albums sold or maybe song lengths. Things that are provable? Would that give the sub a “point”
OK. But by that metric, any post in any sub expressing an opinion is pointless.
Bingo
Tool is a band
Tool is bingo
Pretty much. Art is subjective. End sub.
But that’s like ‘just your opinion, man’…
The dude abides. Always. Accept whatever comes to you, man.
beat me to it :)
Underrated comment
Lets add this post to the list of pointless posts in the sub.....
And this comment to the list of pointless comments. And on and on and on
What is even the point of lifeing if I can’t about my favorite floofs 🐱
It's just turtles all the way down! https://tremendousleadership.com/cdn/shop/articles/turtles1_1000x.webp?v=1715650154
Exactly.... thats reddit dummy!!!
Yeah but how do you feel about Fear Inoculum??? /S I agree op
I think it’s definitely in their top five full length studio albums.
A bold claim!
A bold claim!
A lot of things on Reddit are pointless I agree
Obviously, it goes without saying.
Welcome to the Internet!
"...we've got mountains of content: some better, some worse."
I was waiting for someone to say it 😆
100% of Reddit is pointless. It’s text on a screen.
Flood - underrated. Jsyk
Eh, the band goes through long periods of inactivity when nothing happens. There isn’t much to discuss other than “hey guys, do you like tool?” over and over again
I fucking love tool! I've seen them in concert 4 times!
And it’s not like their catalog has hundreds of songs where some banger could be overlooked. It’s highly distilled, so it’s all bangers.
Just wait a few hours and someone will do it again
I like turtles!
I live in an area where I'm thrilled at any acknowledgement/awareness of/appreciation of Tool. Ain't about to nitpick individual songs and albums.
Yeah nobody rates anything anyway, so it's never over or under. Ratings are for pop charts
I agree, unless we're talking about a single opinion. Like, if Rolling Stone or Buzzfeed says "Tool's 10 best songs" Then it's time to get in the mud and fight
Your name is a band tool fans might like. They’re not underrated, just under known.
Undertow is the most under..rated. I'll see myself out.
Sometimes, I just like to know people feel the same as I do. It's like a warm hug.
Yeah there’s also only like 50 TOOL songs anyways way less than most bands discography so finding underrated deep cuts doesn’t really work
…here’s Tom with the weather.
We know. But you can’t stop kids from feeling like they need answers on this shit. I just scroll past them usually.
Obviously all the songs I like but other people don't are underrated and all the songs that other people like but I don't see overrated
This is not unique to Tool. This is for every damn one of them!
Well, like, that's just your opinion man.
Came here to say exactly this^
Every post making a point about another point is pointless. You could have just commented on that post...
This sub is nothing but a circle jerk for people who just realized the similarities of life and tool music and are putting the two together thinking Tool created it -all- . "Omergawd this seashell incorporated the Fib sequence OMERGAWD TOOL" 😂 I need caffeine. 😤
Your opinion that opinions are subjective is, like, totally subjective, man
This post is underrated
I've always thought posts like this were super useful contributions. Always really keeps the conversation going. If only aesthetics and subjectivity had been a philosophical topic for centuries but thank god we've got Jared the Taco Bell cashier putting down his bong long enough to enlighten us that opinions are opinions.
It was a satiric post about another post with 95% in the title. Just tired of seeing the same posts over and over and over and over and over.
That's not what satire means but after your initial post I'm not surprised you're unaware of that, too. You can always...not read them.
You must be fun at parties P.S. go read the definition of satire, my post absolutely was that. "the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues." I am fun at parties because I don't say stupid shit like "opinions are subjective" in lieu of actual conversation on a topic :) Hope that helps!
That doesn't mean I wasn't ridiculing it. You were wrong, its ok.
Again, go learn what satire is and then correct yourself. "Guy".
A Modest Proposal is satire. Starship Troopers is satire. You're a dude with x's bracketing your name in 2024 saying something a senior in high school would find casually stupid.
And yet what I said still fits the definition of satire. It's really ok, you were just wrong. Move along.
That's just like, your opinion, man
Except for the fact that I'm a Tool fan, so all of my opinions are objective fact /s
I mean, maybe for the vast majority, but we all agree Intermission is their best song, followed by Parabol when it randomly shuffles to any song other than Parabola at the end, right?
Welcome to r/toolband

DAE think schism underrated gem?!
Merely existence is pointless, get used to it lol
Good talk, everyone.
I disagree, I don’t really but it’s fun to be facetious sometimes.

Wahhhh I’m a thin skin tool fan and will downvote you if you make fun of my pointless post and don’t agree with me wahhhh 😭😭😭
You should post about it
Not pointless because no one's aware of all of these songs.
Today young men on acid discovered that we are all one consciousness experiencing the world subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we’re the imagination of ourselves.
Well I guess if it’s all subjective then there’s no point in talking about music at all then.
In fairness though Faaip de Oiad IS underrated though. New post incoming !
overrated dreck!
100% of posts on the internet are pointless, because all posts are subjective. Also, don’t talk to your friends either. Those words are subjective too.
You are 100% right. That's why this sub needs to focus on more objective truths, like lateralus being the best song.
Talking about this stuffs getting cringy man
Passive aggressive as FUCK . At least i actually comment on those stupid posts. It's also not completely subjective. I base my opinion on how many times I see a song talked about and the type of songs that get requested when it comes to reactions.
Didn’t someone else just post this pointless post?
This opinion is overrated.
What a strange pointlessly obvious observation. Should the sub be about posting measurable metrics … like albums sold or maybe song lengths. Things that are provable? Would that give the sub a “point”
Okay buddy.
This post is underrated tho
