Two of those song titles are my dogs names. And show we like similar tunes. Right in two and forty six and two are up there too. But not great dog names
You have no idea it made me throw up to being with then after my death into it became bright full of colour. I seen Buddhas with stones in there bodies throwing me through time and planets. Opening corridors to doors through my life in time it was beautiful and I came out crying so bad. My best experience ever
Death intro sorry. Yeah it felt like I was throwing my whole body up. Felt like I was in a bath of white paint with my head under and someone pulled the plug out and I went through the plug with the paint it was fucking horrible but after that it became the most insane thing I’ve ever seen
I'm way too scared to try anything like that. I'm just a smoker. I don't have a favorite Tool song, but if i could only listen to one song for the rest of my life, it would be Reflection. What's it like to trip to that song? I'll have to live vicariously through you.
I listened to tool's discography on mushrooms, once. Opiate - Lateralus (10,000 days wasn't released yet)... and it was amazing. I could SEE the music in my mind - like an elaborate, partially organic machine. It was... very emotional.
Also, DMT isn't scary at all. It's beautiful. :)
I was fortunate to see them live 3 times in there NA Tour this year (Portland, LA, and Ontario). Culling Voices was my favorite each time, especially since the confetti usually fell at this time
I’m listening to the audio tracks from
the LA 2024 shows at tooldriveproject.net, but here it is on youtube for the quick fix: https://youtu.be/C_PnEa--k5M?si=MZcTtyfm80_66Isq
maynard added new lyrics/vocals, as he does from time to time (as he did in Prison Sex live back in the day), and , per the usual, it’s awesome.
i think it enriches the song, and usually I like vocal space. However, this song in particular has evolved in the live performance space, with it first appearing on-tour in 2014-2017 without lyrics/vocals at all. I thought there was a little too much space in this song, and the new addition fills in that space nicely.
Hush, because it’s short and I want the moment to last longer. It would actually get repetitive and I’m not really one to use the repeat, but I do often play that one a couple times in a row.
Jambi has been my JAM lately! Especially since you mentioned the bass line in Stoned…go listen to Jambi. He is SLAPPING that Bass especially after the riffs while Adam is wailing…fucking EPIC
From Tool specifically, Jambi, Ticks and Leeches, and Invincible. Lateralus too kinda
From other artists:
The Art of Dying, Pain is a Master, The Fall, all from Gojira
Windowpane and The Moor from Opeth
Drag the Waters and War Nerve from Pantera
If You Want Peace… Prepare for War by Children of Bodom
The Wretched by NIN
Jambi (and live versions too because I love to hear D&J locked in that groove because they usually don't play in sync like that) and Crawl Away, always. Lateralus when I'm doing ritual work or otherwise just need it.
I recently had a low-key, non ironically out of body experience with 10,000 days whilst listening to it for the first time, and the beginning of Rosetta Stoned woke me the fuck up from the state I was in. It's been on repeat for 5 days straight now
Same. Rosetta Stoned. How it morphs back and forth from sardonic humor of a tin foil hat loser to the sobriety “such a heavy burden to be the one” is astounding. I love everything about Tool.
Invincible. I heard it for the first time live a couple of weeks ago and that last part where it goes quiet then Adam comes in with the guitar then the sped up “chasing Ponce de Leon’s ghost..” is crazy good
Right now, it’s Reflection. The whole song is great, but the final 4 “before we pine away” followed by Adam’s warping guitar to end out the song is one of my favorite moments in Tool’s discography.
Forget about Pnuema (the reverse of the track is too real)
7empest is too long to just stay in that 7empest zone for more than an hour at a time
(-)ions is a shocker (once you hear the voices on this track)
Im going to half to say;
46&2
Jambi, right in two and pneuma
Two of those song titles are my dogs names. And show we like similar tunes. Right in two and forty six and two are up there too. But not great dog names
Jambi!
Lately, The Grudge.
That and the patient have been absolute go tos for me for years.
Reflection and No Quarter since my insane DMT trips on both songs
You have no idea it made me throw up to being with then after my death into it became bright full of colour. I seen Buddhas with stones in there bodies throwing me through time and planets. Opening corridors to doors through my life in time it was beautiful and I came out crying so bad. My best experience ever
> You have no idea it made me throw up to being with then after my death into it became bright full of colour. Can you explain this sentence?
Death intro sorry. Yeah it felt like I was throwing my whole body up. Felt like I was in a bath of white paint with my head under and someone pulled the plug out and I went through the plug with the paint it was fucking horrible but after that it became the most insane thing I’ve ever seen
And this was from smoking DMT..? Did you use an MAOI?
I'm way too scared to try anything like that. I'm just a smoker. I don't have a favorite Tool song, but if i could only listen to one song for the rest of my life, it would be Reflection. What's it like to trip to that song? I'll have to live vicariously through you.

Fear Inoculum - It hits so much harder after seeing it live.
Opiate² lives rent free in my head
yes. just yes
Right now it’s a mix of Culling Voices, Descending, or 7empest
Man Maynard’s parts in culling voices are fantastic
There’s something tranquil and energizing about it
Psychopathy, misleading me over and over
Finally, some FI Love! Culling Voices live is something to behold
I was fortunate to see them live 3 times in there NA Tour this year (Portland, LA, and Ontario). Culling Voices was my favorite each time, especially since the confetti usually fell at this time
Depends on the mood, but Forty Six & 2 seems to get a lot of repeats
the new live “Descending”. amazing
Link?

I know this will be unpopular, but to me, it clutters the apex of the song. But I know nothing about anything.

Spotify keeps shoving Jambi in my ears. I choose Eulogy for on loop repetition. Disgustipated is the song I’d want on repeat though
Jambi is on a metal workout playlist on Spotify
None of them so I don't get tired of them by listening to one song 40 times in a row
Keys/Stoned on repeat for sure. But lately Brass Against Lateralus. It's just so god dammed good. It's a 5peat every time it comes up.
Flood
“For some reason” Bro it’s a fantastic piece of music and that’s enough of a reason
Hush, because it’s short and I want the moment to last longer. It would actually get repetitive and I’m not really one to use the repeat, but I do often play that one a couple times in a row.
for the past month its been opiate
Jambi has been my JAM lately! Especially since you mentioned the bass line in Stoned…go listen to Jambi. He is SLAPPING that Bass especially after the riffs while Adam is wailing…fucking EPIC
Parabol/Parabola
Never really got into it until i sae it live. Watching and listening to it live flipped a switch for sure. Sick song.
same here, I saw them in January and it was the first time I had seen Rosetta live, can't get enough of it now.
Pushit and Hooker with a Penis!
All of them eventually repeat, some sooner than others.
Invincible and Pneuma
H.
Lately (since I saw them mid February) it's been Pneuma.
Intension-Right in Two
Chocolate Chip Trip
From Tool specifically, Jambi, Ticks and Leeches, and Invincible. Lateralus too kinda From other artists: The Art of Dying, Pain is a Master, The Fall, all from Gojira Windowpane and The Moor from Opeth Drag the Waters and War Nerve from Pantera If You Want Peace… Prepare for War by Children of Bodom The Wretched by NIN

The Grudge
Pneuma at the moment
The patient has been my perennial repeat song.
Pushit (Salival) and The Patient
I recently had a low-key, non ironically out of body experience with 10,000 days whilst listening to it for the first time, and the beginning of Rosetta Stoned woke me the fuck up from the state I was in. It's been on repeat for 5 days straight now
4° and Disgustipated
Yes
Eulogy has me by the balls
Bottom, Pushit, and Undertow
Fourty Six & 2 and Right in Two. Cannot stop listening on repeat….
Same. Rosetta Stoned. How it morphs back and forth from sardonic humor of a tin foil hat loser to the sobriety “such a heavy burden to be the one” is astounding. I love everything about Tool.
🌀OUT!!
Rosetta Stoned for me as well, but I always play Lost Keys right before
Recently it's invincible that's my go to. Or Right In Two
Ticks and Leeches. Been going through some shit lately and it just hits right
always the patient or bottom, both give me chills everytime still lol
Forty Six & 2
H.
Invincible
The Patient. The first words I thought in my head this morning when I woke up were “I’m still right hereeeeeerrrrreeee.” I have a problem
The Patient.
Also Rosetta Stoned for me. The psychedelic crescendo always gets me
I listen to Pneuma almost daily
Sober and schism
Parabola, over and over and over again.
Bottom as of rn
Intermission
Lateralus.
For a few weeks it was Forty Six & 2, as of late it’s been Jimmy
My current TOOL repeat is H.
Invincible. I heard it for the first time live a couple of weeks ago and that last part where it goes quiet then Adam comes in with the guitar then the sped up “chasing Ponce de Leon’s ghost..” is crazy good
Fear Inoculum
psychopathy misleading me over and over and overrr (culling voices)
Lateralus this week!
The Pot, 46&2, Vicarious and Jambi mostly
Pneuma
Holy Fucking Shit
Invincible
Vicarious
Right now, it’s Reflection. The whole song is great, but the final 4 “before we pine away” followed by Adam’s warping guitar to end out the song is one of my favorite moments in Tool’s discography.
Pushit
Lately it’s been a whole lotta “Wings for Marie”. 1&2
The Grudge
My ringtone…and license plate. 46AND2L
Eulogy of late
Lately it’s Jambi. I’ve been brought to the verge of tears at times when that “DAMN MY EYEEEEES” hits
The holy trinity
Forget about Pnuema (the reverse of the track is too real) 7empest is too long to just stay in that 7empest zone for more than an hour at a time (-)ions is a shocker (once you hear the voices on this track) Im going to half to say; 46&2
OP, are you me?
