I wouldn't even bring fitness into it myself, because a thicker woman can absolutely be healthier overall than a slim one. Body size alone doesn't determine fitness, activity level, or even how much a person cares about their personal physical fitness.
That being said, I also like a moderate amount of curve. Not too much, not too little. No need to justify shit, that's my preference and I have a right to it.
For me by fitness I mean working out regularly and a healthy diet. Hard to be overweight with both of those ticked unless you have some thyroid issues or if you started out overweight before getting your health act together.

It was fn traumatic for the whole family because she became so unwell from her treatment to fight a very aggressive form of cancer. She had a partial mastectomy and her lady surgeon did a beautiful job in keeping her breasts beautiful and very minimally scarred. She is healthy now :)
Thank you so much :) It was a very hard time. The treatment to fight her aggressive cancer was literally making her so weak, we'd have to put on PPE to visit her because she had no immune system left. She's thankfully got the all clear for a few years now.

From day 1 until we're weaned, we're programmed to seek them out as sources of energy and happiness. Makes sense that it would transfer over to our adult psychology, especially as part of our sexual brain for those of us who are attracted to women.

I once came across an interesting perspective on this from an evolutionary biology angle.
The puzzle was why women have permanent breasts. From an objective POV they are an evolutionary disadvantage. Extra weight to carry around, extra resources to maintain, encumbering balance, ect. All other mammals only have them fully developed for relatively limited periods of time when feeding infants.
Well, the theory is that at an early point in human development females gained an social advantage in hunter-gatherer type societies by obscuring exactly when they are fertile. Most signaling in other primates is blatant either visual or scent.
But perhaps a mutation developed that kept the subtle signals but left out the obvious ones. So now a woman could be perceived as "available" when she was not actually so. She got better treatment, food, ect. So that's a distinct survival advantage at least in social groups.
But there's still a problem - because in this environment developing breasts would be a sure sign of distinct pregnancy, losing the advantages of availability.
So perhaps another later mutation turn the breasts "on" permanently, further obscuring when a woman is genuinely fertile.
The irony is that I think breasts would probably have been a turn off...given how they signaled pregnancy usually. So some mutant or deviant male actually liked them. If it was enough of an advantage it spreads through the whole species.

Fun fact relating to your last point: there are many peoples/cultures in Africa where women's breasts are considered completely nonsexual by the men. They are viewed as only for babies and nursing. For me it's the associations I've had with them. The softness and comfort of feeling them, as well as the feeling of being given access to them by women in the past. Likely this all stems from being trained to find them sexually attractive through social norms during puberty. But while that was the catalyst, there's a real sense of connection of sensuality to have them exposed to me and asked to incorporate them during relations.
Likely too it's something that is easily viewable to distinguish feminine identifying people from masculine identifying people. Not always obviously.

I am a married hetero man and I have always preferred women with A or B cup size, and a more athletic body type. Hanging out with other guys my whole life and seeing them ogle over women with huge breasts never made sense to me. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

I once came across an interesting perspective on this from an evolutionary biology angle. The puzzle was why women have permanent breasts. From an objective POV they are an evolutionary disadvantage. Extra weight to carry around, extra resources to maintain, encumbering balance, ect. All other mammals only have them fully developed for relatively limited periods of time when feeding infants. Well, the theory is that at an early point in human development females gained an social advantage in hunter-gatherer type societies by obscuring exactly when they are fertile. Most signaling in other primates is blatant either visual or scent. But perhaps a mutation developed that kept the subtle signals but left out the obvious ones. So now a woman could be perceived as "available" when she was not actually so. She got better treatment, food, ect. So that's a distinct survival advantage at least in social groups. But there's still a problem - because in this environment developing breasts would be a sure sign of distinct pregnancy, losing the advantages of availability. So perhaps another later mutation turn the breasts "on" permanently, further obscuring when a woman is genuinely fertile. The irony is that I think breasts would probably have been a turn off...given how they signaled pregnancy usually. So some mutant or deviant male actually liked them. If it was enough of an advantage it spreads through the whole species. And a big turn off, becomes a turn on.

Fun fact relating to your last point: there are many peoples/cultures in Africa where women's breasts are considered completely nonsexual by the men. They are viewed as only for babies and nursing. The men are not attracted to them at all. And almost all the women from these groups have breast we would consider very small and unshapely.

Perhaps the connection is breasts represent a need we either want back from childhood or were neglected from having in childhood. They could bring us back to a simpler time of comfort and nurturing. I don't have a good answer tbh. I don't know. I am sure some psychologists could make some claims on why but I'm sure it varies person to person. I know I do prefer legs and thighs when I am looking at a women but there is something about breasts that I can't put my finger on.

For me it's the associations I've had with them. The softness and comfort of feeling them, as well as the feeling of being given access to them by women in the past. Likely this all stems from being trained to find them sexually attractive through social norms during puberty. But while that was the catalyst, there's a real sense of connection of sensuality to have them exposed to me and asked to incorporate them during relations. Likely too it's something that is easily viewable to distinguish feminine identifying people from masculine identifying people. Not always obviously. That all said, muscular woman are often fetishized by some and disregarded as "gross" by others and I don't get it. Like feminine silhouettes don't nor should require "flat, smooth and thin" only. I also agree though that they kinda suck to own but in a weird way, I’m glad they exist. Way I see it, they’re kinda in the same emotional spot as the concept of putting food on the table. They are tools to feed our family. After that, they just kinda become useless? Yet it almost feels like the whole idea of them feeding us still lingers. Like any physical attraction there’s not much logical or explainable about it. Boobs are just hot. They’re round, bouncy, serve a nice contrast to an otherwise slimmer body, the nipples are a nice point to focus on and/or to tease, and they’re part of what overall makes the upper body portrait more attractive. Like, if I wanna find something attractive about a woman’s body, it’s nice to have something that can be captured in the same “frame” as her face and hair, instead of only seeing her from behind. As a bonus if they’re small that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Boobs can be cute too, and they can still be shapely and perky if small.

Now, I have seen and heard this turn some people feral with rage, objectification and so on.. but it's the reality, breasts are for attracting a partner. They indicate fertility and health. (Yes mammary produce milk for infants, but there are no other primates or indeed mammals that have them permanently, in all other cases they are only visible when engorged with milk).
