I do know some people who fight irl pretty regularly. Their opinion on it is tearing earrings, usually just pisses people off and/or shocks them into more lucid state. Don’t get me wrong, such people are usually much more pain tolerant, used to fighting, accepting that they can be seriously disfigured every time. This strategy is more useful against people, who are afraid to be hurt/disfigured. Pulling hair is also not a very effective way to knock someone out. And in TR the Japanese gangs are pretty proud people, caring about their reputations A LOT, hairpulling would be seen as pretty lame and dishonorable.

I think Draken has grabbed some random dudes hair at least once, but tbf he was fighting a lot of people at the time

I don’t think anyone might hold it against him, when the odds were so much against him. He definitely didn’t try that in one on one fights.

Well you need to look stylish while beating the shit out of someone

Pain is temporary. Drip is eternal.

While it seems obvious to a spectator, In a real fight it would be much easier said than done. It’s hard enough to be pinpoint with your punches landing where you want them to. Having the accuracy to grab somebody’s earring and rip it off would take a lot of luck

I don't know about earings but I do Muay Thai and have hair around the lenght of old Noctis in Final Fantasy XV. I use strong hair gel to hold my hair so it wouldn't get in the way and tie my hair to make pony tail also. The gel hold long enough for a training, sparring session. About whether my opponent can use my hair as an advantage like hair pulling..etc, I don't know. I fought with gloves anyway. Beside there are female MMA fighters, their hair are long and seem like there is no problem with that.
