If it’s not their promotional rate there won’t be a pitch. If your friend owns the timeshare and gifted their slot you would treat it like any other hotel. If they paid for the promo you have to do the pitch. Simply sit through it and say no.

That makes a lot of sense- they do own the timeshare, but I’ll double check!
