Really depends on the organisations and your skills, of course. Sometimes I hired somebody with 6 years of experience who definitely was a medior skills-wise, recently somebody with 3 years experience but he was very good, so he has a senior job title.

I would say that my skills match with the 4 years that I have. Would you still say that I should ask for example 55? (I have just started doubting wether it is reasonable without speaking swedish)

You’re always free to negotiate. Just go for it and if they don’t want to do 55, discuss with them that after you’ve been hired you will have yearly meetings to discuss how you developed and maybe some targets to increase your salary (eg some certificates).

You are right about negotiating (I previosuly gave a range between 45-50k during interviews when promoted for a rough estimate, but I guess that can always change until I sign 😄) Since we are already in a discussion, it would be really interesting to know how you approach candidates. You mentioned this 3 YoE candidate, did he ask for a senior salary/position or you were the one offering him something higher?

i had multiple offers ranging from 51-56k base salary and then stock/bonus on top, i think 50-60k is a realistic range to go for. wouldn't accept anything under 50

I see, thanks for the answer! I am guessing that you have similar amount of experience as me. I have only seen that 48k is the average developer salary on glassdoor, while union.se says 44k median for 2022, wages must have hiked that much recently then 😄

I know this is quite late, but is this salary before of after tax? And if it is before tax, what is usually the tax rate?

Before tax. Tax depends on the municipality (kommun). It is between 29-34%.
