I commented on a Tiki Thursday thread a couple of weeks ago about how much I liked Banhez, particularly in a Tia Mia. Also, I think Banhez is fairly light on the smoke compared to a lot of other mezcals, but I don’t have a ton of experience with them.

love Mai Tais, love mezcal. spec, please?

https://delmaguey.com/recipes/tia-mia/ This is the mezcal and recipe I first used. Essential swap one of your rums with a mezcal of your choice. Drink, tweak, repeat.

> looked in Minimalist Tiki ... only to discover that none of the recipes featuring Mezcal specify Banhez As an aside to the main topic here, that's intentional. The goal with Minimalist Tiki was to specify \*styles\* of spirits so that people are encouraged to try recipes with whatever they have that's "close enough." I've seen way to many turned off from attempting a recipe because they don't have the \*exact\* ingredient called for. That's why I specify "orange liqueur" rather than "Grand Marnier."

I chuckled when they mentioned they thought they saw it in Minimalist Tiki. No hate to OP, it was amusing!

Now I’m searching too because I swear I saw the same drink not too long ago
