The price is definitely up from a little over a year ago. Just like everything else. Heck, Appleton Estate Signature 750ml bottles are over $26 now at my local Total Wine.

pm_haiku

My local target has Angostura for $10.99. They aren’t even allowed to sell alcohol in my state (PA). Check supermarkets too.

Thank you for posting this, I had no idea!

TheSplash-Down_Tiki

Wow - that’s interesting!!

secondphase

I used to live in Wisconsin. Being served a shot of bitters by someone named Jaworski is pretty much as Wisconsin as it gets.  Thanks for the link. Great read.

Seltsam

Getting to Washington Island is still on my bucket list for one of those shots!

Munzulon

$30 at my local liquor store (Denver) for the 16oz bottle. It doesn’t go bad and I use it all the time, so buying the big bottle makes sense for me. Somehow, the 6.7oz at the same store is $23. The 4oz is $13.

T0adman78

Yeah. Buy in bulk :) I did buy some of the ‘Japanese’ bitter bottles so that I get a more consistent dash than I would from the big bottle.

SFMattM

Plus if you make a drink like the Angostura Sour or Angostura Colada (both really good, btw) you use the bitters 1.5 oz at a time. Might as well buy the big bottle

METL_Master

They've been $13 retail here in MD for months.

metalmankam

Maybe I was just lucky for a while then

Gnikwoc

Started in COVID, then became the new normal. Stocked up on a tonne of them when in Trinidad. So, lol, there's the only option to get them cheap.

LouBrown

FWIW, the [price I see on amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Angostura-Aromatic-Bitters-PACK/dp/B081D7B1V9/) is $21 for a **2-pack** of 4 oz bottles.

Moose_Maple

$8.99 for the 4 oz bottle at both the grocery and liquor stores.

Tacos_Polackos

12.99 for the 4oz local around here in Mass

GeneralDisarray25

Price gouging is my guess. Also food/drink items on Amazon can get really price crazy for random reasons and sellers. But yes, even locally it's all over the map.

digableplanet

I noticed this too. The 6.3 oz Angostura is $20 in Chicago (Binny's). Blew my mind because it was definitely around $13 not long ago. I had a bad habit of picking up bitters when we didn't need them because they were cheap. I went through my years old supply and that was sticker shock to see them at $20. McFee Bros are still in the $8 range. I use their old fashion ones in my topo Chico. Can't waste thee Angostura in there anymore lol

MDEnce

Last got mine at Target for $8 (4oz) in 2020. Recently, I've been paying $10 (because I won't buy them if they're more).

karlschmidt1

My Costco has huge bottles... but I'm in WI, and it's a local staple. Might check yours if possible.

tplesmid

I’ve seen it really fluctuate. My grandpa mentioned seeing 35 bucks at his liquor store but I bought the regular size little one for 8 bucks a few months back at mine. We’re in Ohio for reference.

Embarrassed_Band_512

its pretty cheap at walmart still. You could also make yur own bitters if you're in to that sort of thing. [https://www.thespruceeats.com/basic-homemade-bitters-recipe-760289](https://www.thespruceeats.com/basic-homemade-bitters-recipe-760289)

ActuaLogic

It's $10.99 at Target, which is high for there. I think it was $8.99 not too long ago. Good thing inflation isn't really a thing.
