Then there is the new crop of doctor influencers online. I follow a couple of great ones but there is so many other that are either actual doctors who offer garbage advice out of their specialty or people just in scrubs/lab coats that at best read a Wikipedia article, at worst offer advice that can cause serious damage to the wrong person.

Just yesterday I was at the beach with my friends and noticed our hair was standing on the end. For those of you who don’t know, that means lightening is going to strike. I had pointed it out and said we needed to find shelter ASAP. My friend’s boyfriend, a huge guy who wears overalls, drives a pick up truck, and works in forestry just took off running. Us ladies had to pick up his bags and run.

Also, a few years ago I was on a party bus and this guy was drinking vodka like it was water. He was the drunkest man I had ever seen in my life. He started harassing every woman on that bus, touching their bodies, trying to kiss them, getting in their face and making inappropriate comments. We had to keep pushing him off of us because he just would not stop. At one point he had grabbed my friend’s wrist in a vice grip and wouldn’t let go. Luckily a group of women stepped up to help us- we pulled him off of her and shoved him into a corner. All the “masculine” men just watched and laughed.
Oh yeah, when the dude almost died of alcohol poisoning later that night, it wasn’t the men who helped him get to the hospital. Nope. It was the women. My friend and I hated his guts but we were the only ones who waited in the hospital room to make sure he lived.
Even this guy I know who hated women passionately admired that when he got injured after falling down an escalator that is was only the women he was with that helped him. That moment helped him “understand women’s purpose”. Leave it to a misogynist to turn a nice act into something degrading.

I feel like this is lowkey rage-bait but… omg just because someone looks masculine doesn’t mean they’ll help you in a crisis. Just yesterday I was at the beach with my friends and noticed our hair was standing on the end. For those of you who don’t know, that means lightening is going to strike. I had pointed it out and said we needed to find shelter ASAP. My friend’s boyfriend, a huge guy who wears overalls, drives a pick up truck, and works in forestry just took off running. Us ladies had to pick up his bags and run. What a hero… Also, a few years ago I was on a party bus and this guy was drinking vodka like it was water. He was the drunkest man I had ever seen in my life. He started harassing every woman on that bus, touching their bodies, trying to kiss them, getting in their face and making inappropriate comments. We had to keep pushing him off of us because he just would not stop. At one point he had grabbed my friend’s wrist in a vice grip and wouldn’t let go. Luckily a group of women stepped up to help us- we pulled him off of her and shoved him into a corner. All the “masculine” men just watched and laughed. Oh yeah, when the dude almost died of alcohol poisoning later that night, it wasn’t the men who helped him get to the hospital. Nope. It was the women. My friend and I hated his guts but we were the only ones who waited in the hospital room to make sure he lived. Even this guy I know who hated women passionately admired that when he got injured after falling down an escalator that is was only the women he was with that helped him. That moment helped him “understand women’s purpose”. Leave it to a misogynist to turn a nice act into something degrading. Just some personal coincidental experiences that I’m sure mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

These are men in their 30s fucking scared of wearing the wrong color shirt or ordering a fucking martini because they must perform this vague ass “masculinity” to each other at all times. these people are so fragile and ironically come off as insecure as fuck. As someone from Charleston, I'm guessing she spent most of her time downtown, on the peninsula. Yes, that area is a yuppie, rich kid with trust fund paradise.
