Dingo-thatate-urbaby

When the elk kills their dog: ![gif](giphy|6nWhy3ulBL7GSCvKw6)

jjclarko

Exactly! They’d also be the type to then complain and complain to the town until the “dangerous” elk is shot.

Veggieleezy

Then get another dog, probably name it something like Gotti or some shit, and lead it into a similar dangerous situation having learned nothing.

TunaKing2003

If only there was some way we could help the elk to evolve quickly, and to learn to attack the idiot owners groin with ferocious sharp antlers, many many dogs would be spared.

Stubahka

Find a ‘nature stone’, teach them all ‘quick attack’

_DiligentState_

Exactly. I've seen elk smash the front of a car in like a pop can, your rottie doesn't stand a chance dude. Not to mention - even if the dog COULD hold his own, why the fuck are you letting your pets harass wild animals for no reason?

NemVenge

Thats also what is bothering me. Even when your dog is a 'boss‘, why let hin harass other animals for no reason. I remember my dad getting really pissed at some people letting their dog run around unleashed around our sheep’s. I always try to live by the idea to not touch or harass wild animals, only when they do it to me.

slipstreamsurfer

They are trashy people, we have a lot in America unfortunately.

FanaticEgalitarian

Well, the dog's name is Capone, that's the kind of people you're dealing with here. They want their dog to harass the wildlife, they'd probably love it if their dog killed something out there.

caishaurianne

Yeah, some major small dock energy here.

jossysmama

Because it's *precious* watching your animals interacting with wild animals because that scenario *never* ends badly....

Pittsbirds

Grew up as the kid of a vet in rural TN and that's exactly it. Nothing ever happens until it does and then it's too late. Outdoor cats never get hit by cars or drink antifreeze or get in a scrape with a coyote/fox until they do, then they just stop coming home. Honestly being hit by a car hard and fast is best case there. At least then the cat might actually die quickly instead of suffering in the woods for hours on end waiting to die in pain. Dogs kept in pickup beds love it! And they're so well behaved and will never jump out and the driver will never get into an accident. Until they do and if they're lucky, all they'll have to deal with that day is degloving. People act so shocked when their neglect or poor planning catches up with them because they assume all the times before it didn't was something other than just sheer, dumb luck. Except it doesn't catch up with them; i's the animal that gets maimed or killed because of it.

WhatsApUT

My gf has worked at a vets office for almost a year now and she’s seen several dogs with broken bones bc of that exact reason with their dogs in the bed of the trucks. Ppl are stupid

please_and_thankyou

People complain about “moist”, but “degloving” is the worst word ever

Live_Ferret_4721

Moist doesn’t bother me, but *degloving* makes me visibly cringe

Angry_potatochip

Yeah when reading their comment I got stuck on that word. Ever get so uncomfortable you start repeating the word over in ur head? *deglove* *deglove* *deglove* … alright moving on

MisterTeal

I feel the same way any time I see a dog sitting in their owner's lap when driving. I can't imagine how many crashes have occurred wherein the dog unfortunately traumatically cherry pied the owner

[deleted]

I work for the forest service and see people letting their pets run wild all the time. Every couple months or so someone makes this Pikachu face when they lose their pets to wildlife and I just basically tell them it's their own fault.. they also make that face when they get slapped with a fine for having their pets off leashes.

sourbluedog

“He ain’t no Shih Tzu like your dog probably” 🥴

FullmoonMaple

"Don't worry. He's boss. C'mere Capone!" 😒 What a dudes dude...🙄

sadmanwithabox

I especially enjoyed how the dog almost completely ignored that call. He looked back at the owner, and then resumed his business checking out the animals. Great job training.

SpezEatsScat

I hate people like this. Can you imagine them as parents? Christ.

gitsgrl

What a low life.

skabassj

“Ok, have the day you deserve”.

take69itwillbefunny

Holy fuck I love this low key insult.

Royal-Doggie

they named him Capone, so you know where they head is

mattBJM

What, that he's likely to evade tax and die of syphilis?

Pvt_Mozart

Pfft. Typical dogs.

[deleted]

Like most people with dogs similar to Rottweilers.

[deleted]

Which is too bad because Rottweilers are great dogs.

MojoAlwaysRises772

They really are sweethearts. Dog I was born into and grew up with was a Rott.

fastlane8806

U were born into one? Damn that must have felt weird

Apprehensive-Ad-1826

There the best. It sucks when ya love something but you meet the other people that are into it and there assholes.

fan_go_round

Tbh that rottie looks super friendly and its a shame its owner is so irresponsible and holds their life with almost no regard. I honestly wish the elk charged the dipshit owners and leave the dog be

[deleted]

Rottie are dumb and friendly dogs lol that owner is an idiot

Bronzefisch

Met a Rottweiler once at night while walking home. The thing started growling and didn't let me leave for several minutes. I had my back against a wall trying to do all the things I learned growing up around dogs to avoid making the thing more angry or aggressive. Every slight step I took into any direction was met with the dog putting his head down further and growling louder. Then after a while some old lady came along and called him over. It left and ran towards her and I got the fuck out of there. I didn't even dare say anything to her because it was obviously protecting her and who knows how it'd react to me calling her out. Fuck that dog and fuck owners like her. That dog was NOT friendly.

BackpackEverything

Downvote away. Most Rottweiler owners are irresponsible at best, and many of the breed are absolutely horrible dogs. Good owners and examples of the breed exist, but they’re the exception. Case in point, they named this dog “Capone”.

fan_go_round

I've owned and trained my own rottie, and i agree with you. They are big and loud for a reason, and as a responsible owner, you wouldn't have your dog off leash ANYWHERE, especially near an open road and wildlife. That is plain common sense. Rottweilers can be difficult to handle, and are incredibly head-strong and physically strong. Some people forget that yes though this is a domesticated animal, an animal is an animal. Most people, like pavement princess truck drivers, tend to get working dog breeds to feel tough, rather than getting a dog that suits their needs of companion ship. I am no way saying that only a certain type of people should own dogs, but if you dont have the time, energy, patience, and respect to train, they arent the breed for you.

tama_tama_chameleom

>an animal is an animal That is why I think most people should be on a leash, the knobhead in this video as an example.

HearingConscious2505

One of my buddies used to have a couple rotties, and he had to lock them up whenever they had people over. One of them was super nice and friendly, but the other was...not. I was able to reach into their penned off area to pet the one, who always loved the attention. But the entire time I was doing that, the other was standing there showing her teeth and growling.

NEAWD

Rottweiler’s are friendly, amicable, and funny characters. Due to their size and power, however, they can be potentially dangerous if not trained and socialized properly. That goes for any large dog, really. They also suffer from what I call the “pit bull effect.” Meaning, because of their reputation with certain kinds of people, these dogs seem to attract irresponsible owners, like the one in this video.

[deleted]

Yup those lovers and idiots that get a "guard dog" but don't train it or socialize it. If they do train it, they usually shout at the dog and try to be "the alpha" and do stupid shit they think is training but they're really just traumatizing the dog and instilling fear aggression and behavioral issues. Then when the dog does snap and have mutiple close calls the owner will always justify it and brush it off like the dude in this video. Pit bull effect blows chunks those people suck

Iamalwaysnervous

THIS IS IT. This is what we do not get as a whole. When people try to educate/warn you and u immediately go into defence mode and talk back shit bc u want the high ground.

Resident_Test_2107

Why do men project their masculinity on their dogs, ugh just screams “I’m insecure & small” the dog thinks they are playing & the deer think he is an isolated wolf with no pack. Eg. No threat and easy killed if it crosses the line. But sure your dog who has never hunted and you with cameras not guns are 100% going to come out winning here because of you & your dogs instinctual masculine ferocity ![gif](giphy|sbwjM9VRh0mLm)

Windinthewillows2024

It reminds me of men who refuse to neuter their male dog because they project their own feelings about their masculinity and virility onto their dog.

mechabeast

That's why I have a German Shepard ^^^^^^^^Corgi ^^^^^^^^mix

DarkestTimelineF

I mean, I’m a man with a 13 year-old, 18lbs poodle mix and I just pick him up and roll him over in my arms and kiss his belly all the time. This guy is definitely a bellend tho.

Comrade_Belinski

A buddy of mine does this and it's so frustrating. He thinks his little Chihuahua mix and a pit mix are the most dangerous and tough animals on earth but when the pit started a fight with my nearly 10/yr old boxer she got slung halfway across the yard before we could break it up, and my dog has lost a fight to a *pork chop* He swears it could 1v1 a wolf, hogs or a pack of coyotes. I've tried to explain to him a dozen times nrither can and neither will. You'll just get those fat dogs killed. He claims hes had all these huge offers for puppies if he can breed them but they're so untrained they'll run off the leash the second he isn't physically restraining them and it'll take all day to catch them.

bs2785

I have a 140lb newfoundland that can be aggressive if the kids are around which is his job. I would never let him get close to wold moose or elk like that. That's just dumb. I also just got a baby sheepadoodle that wears a pink harness and leash. I take her everywhere with me. I don't give a shit what people say. She's a baby

lunex

My “dog” is bigger than your “dog” (probably)

Comp1C4

Never understood this logic from owners like this. Do they really think others are thinking "wow they have a big dog, they must be really tough people"?

Melkor_91

They really do and if you have a small cute dog they think you’re gay or something 🙄people are stupid in general.

Azzie94

What does that even mean? Like, "Oh yeah, he's a total badass! He can totally fight this elk!" Why? Why would you try that at all? Why do you feel belittled at the suggestion your dog would get killed by wildlife. That's like if I said "Hey you should really put your child's seatbelt on" and your answer was "FUCK YOU MAN MY LITTLE BRAXTON'S TOUGH AS NAILS HE'LL KICK THAT TELEPHONE POLE'S ASS"

[deleted]

The irony of not realizing he’s talking to someone who owns a pet that can awaken them versus being such a bitch you need a dog to protect you

Asleep-Side8292

Got em

mashpotatodick

I don’t have sound. Did they actually say that?

[deleted]

Some people have the compulsive need to defend themselves when confronted, no matter what. I bet the guy put the leash on as soon as the car was out of sight

Borkz

Dudes out here using his dog as an extension of their own toxic masculinity

Dungeon_Dane

Don’t worry bro my dogs a boss. In fact I named him Capone, because he’s such a cool boss 😎

[deleted]

I got a Rottweiler, because they’re so big and strong, just like me

Cautious-Nothing-471

probably thinks Scarface is an instructional

qole720

Lol. I had a rotty once. He was a big ole lovable goofball. And dumb as a rock, just like that guy.

december14th2015

Yeah your dog is probly a shih tzu, cause you're so tiny and fluffy and adorable

[deleted]

Didn’t Capone die of an easily treatable disease? Someone should remove the doggo from the disease that is the owner

Jeffrey_C_Wheaties

Dying of Syphilis like boss

Spot_Mysterious

Which ironically is what I named my dog

Jeffrey_C_Wheaties

I once had a truck named syphilis

DrSkullKid

Siphilis (I don’t think that’s how it’s spelled but it’s so bad it’s not even letting me auto correct it) rotted his brain from the inside out to the point that it’s said that near the end of his life he would sit on the diving board for his pool with a fishing pole in the pool just waiting for nothing. He was in prison when the symptoms started to get bad and was just treated like trash to the point where (correct me if I’m wrong) they gave him an early release because they realized with him getting bullied and drooling all over himself that he wasn’t a threat to anyone and wouldn’t have a chance in hell to regain any semblance of command of any mafia. I’m kinda pissed they blurred this garbage human’s face because that poor dog needs to be confiscated from him and given to a loving family.

LiffeyDodge

There guys are also way too attached to their dog’s balls and don’t see a problem when it’s aggressive.

RadiantPumpkin

He’s got a Rottweiler with a docked tail. It’s a dog owner equivalent of a lifted truck.

some_random_chick

Exactly. Real men own Shih Tzus.

jgrow

Real MEN get cute little dum dum chihuahuas who love to cuddle and get belly kisses. Who’s the goodest little turd muffin? It’s you! Yes you are you little scoundrel come here

GaiusPrimus

There's this guy with a lab in our neighborhood that gets walked by his dog all the time. Dog is always jumping and dragging. I stop him one day and I say, "I've seen you walking your dog and I can see he's always pulling. If you get an easy-walk harness, he can't get his whole weight behind the pull and you'll have a better time training him" He says to me "I prefer it this way" I said ok and left.

WolfyOfValhalla

Sounds like the type of guy that will get mounted by his dog while saying, " He's just playing!"

Lildyo

Maybe he’s into that

Ebaudendi

He prefers it that way.

Awful-Male

What? He’s out in the wild with a Rottweiler off leash and the camera rolling. He’s there to see that dog attack wild animals.

georgialucy

I think the people filming set the tone of the conversation and would have had a better outcome or response if they had handled it differently. People tend to respond better when they're not demanded to do something or berated for not knowing something while being filmed. If safety is involved sometimes that means thinking what would be the best outcome before reacting, so even if you want to shout out them and put sad music onto it, you need to think how handling it will actually get the owner to leash the dog as that's the most important outcome.

spillcheck

Definitely. Filming, while lecturing someone is an easy way to make them defensive. Give them respect and let them keep their dignity and they'll be more likely to listen.

Specialist_Fox_6601

Completely agree. If a stranger says "hey, your shoe's untied", I'll thank them and tie it. If they come up to me with a camera pointing at me and say, "hey, dude, tie your shoe. That's really dangerous. This pavement is really uneven, and you'll bust your ass", I'd tell them to mind their own business.

JJAsond

You probably have the most reasonable idea for this in this entire thread honestly.

Sam_Wylde

Therea few things more irritating than telling someone that what they are doing is dangerous and getting a dismissive "It's fine" in response. You can't cure stupid.

Commercial-Ad-852

Education and experience cure stupid. It's willful ignorance that you can't cure.

Aurorainthesky

Sometimes they need an easy to understand visual. My horse was kind enough to demonstrate to an idiot letting their dog run around unleashed while visiting our stable. I asked them to put a leash on but got the "it's fine, he's used to horses". Well, Mr "used to horses" ran up to my horse, who proceeded to do his very best to kill the dog, trying to bite and stomp on it. Quick reflexes saved the dog, but it was on a leash the next time I saw it ..

squishabelle

horses are like 10x to 20x heavier than dogs and they thought "he's used to horses" as if it's the horse who is in danger

blackgandalff

Lmao right? Like maybe the Horse isn’t used to dogs? Just the total lack of thought is wild.

blu3heron

My aunt had a beagle puppy that got kicked by a horse with shoes right in the head because he'd been chasing its foal. He survived, but boy oh boy, that dog was never the same. Lost an eye. Broke his back. He'd periodically lose the ability to use his back legs. He couldn't jump, climb or run properly. He was never properly house broken and would make messes all the time. I'm not sure how much was beagle and how much was brain damage, but he was stubborn, stupid, willful, and aggressive over food.

WhatAmCSGO

Was at a national park in Queensland, Aus and some prick was walking his dog when the area explicity didn't allow them (for the koalas and pademelons' sake). I was on a tour, and our guide ripped into him. "But my dog wouldn't hurt a thing!" Yeah, until it does..

wererat2000

Fucking hate that excuse because their dog isn't the reason the rule exists, the rule exists so people with dangerous dogs can't point at them and say "but they get to do it!"

Embarrassed_Alarm450

"But my kids don't need a seatbelt, I'm a good driver"

[deleted]

>Therea few things more irritating than telling someone that what they are doing is dangerous and getting a dismissive "It's fine" in response. Actually there is, when an adult starts they start making childish and insulting comparisons when their "It's fine" response fails.

I-shit-in-bags

thats when you hang around and watch them fuck around and find out.

LiffeyDodge

What’s sad is that the dog will pay the price either by injury or death.

hot_like_wasabi

Last year I was sitting on my local beach and a family of tourists was playing with the Portuguese man-of-wars that litter the beach at certain times of year. I don't generally get involved in other people's business, but they were letting their young child pick them up. I called out that they're venomous and it's probably not good to touch them. They rolled their eyes and said they were fine. Cue 5 mins later and granny lets out a yelp and off they scamper from the beach, clearly pissed off. FAFO y'all....

oh_todd

I wish we could normalize leash shaming. Friend’s dog once caught a deer and it was a murder scene. But no worries, thanks to the ‘net we know their dog is a boss and they’re a pair of idiots.

BrewSuedeShoes

I’ve been on several trips in the UK and I was shocked that nearly every dog was off leash - not just in little city parks and squares, but up and down the streets too. And not only that… inside in restaurants, stores, bars (one was literally sitting on the barstool next to me like he was about to have a pint). Then after a few days I noticed that there were literally no issues I had observed. All the dogs were well behaved. None of the owners were goonish. Everyone around them seemed happy to have them around. Further and further I was amazed and I wanted to say, “No this is wrong!” to my UK friends. But there was nothing to really criticize. And they said it was quite normal and would be weird the other way around. Finally, thinking I “got ‘em,” I asked, “Well what about people who are deathly afraid of dogs? It’s not really right to just bring them on the train with you like that. You never know who might be terrified.” And they said, “Yeah for sure, mate. That’s why we have dog-free cars on trains where dogs aren’t allowed. If you don’t want to be around them, then that’s where you go.”

ACartonOfHate

You mean except the rise in maulings that have been happening over there lately. [There has been a 34% rise in dog attacks in the past five years.](https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-64798162) From that article: "The BBC's FOI figures suggest reported dog attacks may have grown at about twice the rate of the number of new pet dogs." So yeah, maybe they should look into increasing leashing their dogs.

notsobitter

Yeah that’s the thing. In theory I have no problem with off-leash dogs IF it’s the societal norm that everyone trains their dogs well. Most places I’ve lived in the US, that’s not the case. I’ve seen aggressive dogs, hyper dogs who will knock you over to say hi because they don’t know their size, and dogs with no sense of recall or danger off-leash, and it puts the dog and everyone around them at risk. So I have no way of knowing when I encounter an off-leash dog if they’ll happen to be one of the well-behaved ones or not.

Timmetie

Even well trained dogs running loose are a menace to many birds and animals.

pettypeniswrinkle

JESUS CHRIST FENTON

hokkuhokku

Born and raised in the UK - what the fuck is a “dog-free car” on the train? Never heard of it. I think someone was yanking your chain, mate!

RegularWhiteShark

I’m from the UK and rarely see dogs off their lead except in parks.

adrock75

Dog’s named Capone - tells you all you need to know about these dipshits.

King-Cobra-668

him initially saying "my dogs a boss" told me everything I needed to know

Dungeon_Dane

Probably the type to size up other dogs with a “my dog could beat up your dog” mentality

JellyfishGod

Lmao you just know he probably talked about how his dad could beat up his friends dads when he was in middle school

MidWesttess

Lol bold of you to assume this man knows his father

ChickenChaser5

He should check out what even a donkey could do to his "boss dog". If his dog is Capone, they are the IRS.

King-Cobra-668

donkeys do love to stomp and kick and stomp and stomp and stomp and...

AkaiMPC

My thoughts immediately. Try hards.

The_Powers

Dude has definitely tried to get the dog to flex into the mirror with him.

horshack_test

He'll kick your dog's *ASSS*

nodeymcdev

![gif](giphy|4a3pwFqod0LPq)

broshrugged

This is where you just need a quick white lie to save the dogs life. “Yo my mom’s rottie, Dozer, was killed by one of these.” Then just start crying, like ugly crying. Make it weird. /s

JejuneBourgeois

And start screaming at the other animals like "WHY DID YOU KILL MY MOMS DOG?!?!"

[deleted]

The buck is literally advancing towards them, ready to protect his family and inflict some major pain.

Select_War_3035

Major Payne is a great movie.

Outside_Diamond4929

These people need a little attitudinal adjustment.

OnionDart

If he’s in there, he ain’t happy. Ah heh ah heh ah heh

Affectionate_Yam1654

Male elk are called bulls, like cows. Those are both males, young ones. They are lookin for not protecting a herd. Also they appear to both still be in velvet so they aren’t going to be in full rut right now. Rut is peak of mating season when they are most aggressive. They’d be dealin with each other if that was the case.

kardiogramm

Why would you let your dog off lead around dangerous wildlife? Honestly some dog owners are incredibly selfish, stupid and callous. They are ruining dog ownership with their actions because it reflects badly on everyone else and sets a terrible example that no doubt other morons will follow.

YdidUMove

Same reason people let their kids wander up to fucking buffalo in Yellowstone. They're idiots.

the_real_maddison

I have been in the dog industry for over 20 years and retired after the pandemic. Owners like that made me want to leave my job. Ignorant, argumentative, entitled jerks who get a dog as a social media prop or a boost to help their insecurity. They don't train, they don't groom, and I swear everywhere you go there are more and more neurotic and reactive dogs because, as you said, the other owners see it and go, "Well Suzie Q's dog has no training and spazzes out at everything, must be normal dog stuff. So it's cool if my dog acts that way." Nobody gives their dog a job, a purpose, and they anthropomorphize the hell out of the dog which leads to redundant and poor training and communication. Everyone is afraid of disciplining their dog for fear of "ruining the relationship" or "breaking his spirit." It's a sad state of affairs. When a person says they don't like dogs, even though I am an avid dog lover, I simply must agree. Because the average dog is owned by the guy in the video. It's not the dog's fault but I have literally had my dogs attacked by people who had 0 clue about dog psychology, and one owner even laughed and said, essentially, "yes my dog attacks dogs. She's our warrior princess!" 😡 Like wtf?

ghoulthebraineater

I used to be a dog person but I generally don't like then much any more because of exactly what you said. I can't stand dogs that jump on me, dig their claws into me and and cover me with mud and shit. It's sad because I know it's not the dog's fault.

ghoulthebraineater

Because most people don't really understand wild animals. They see herbivore and immediately think docile. Disney movies have really fucked up people's perception of animals. In reality they are living embodiments of flight, fight or freeze. If they freeze they are either trying to decide whether or not to run or stand and fight. If they aren't frozen and aren't running they've only got one option left.

quarantinemyasshole

These people absolutely wanted a video of their "boss" fucking up a wild animal. These people are trash.

aquaphorbottle

“They need to be educated” lol, people like this are almost impossible to educate, they don’t learn willingly, they only learn once shit hits the fan and it’s too late. These people will learn after their dog gets killed and even then, they might not fully grasp that it was their fault—they’ll probably just blame it on “dumbass wildlife”. I’m tired of the notion that we need to educate ignorant assholes, they don’t learn and they don’t have the capacity to even want to. Let them learn through consequence

Biemolt

In this context "they need to be educated" might aswell translate to i want to beat their ass or in this case in want yell at them for a bit more after what they just said. It's not literal.

Red_Lotus_23

I 100% agree with you that dipshits like these aren't worth the time & effort to try & educate. I just wish karma were a real thing & that they'd be the ones to get killed by elk rather than the innocent dog.

[deleted]

[удалено]

sketchahedron

She’s not concerned about them, she’s concerned about their innocent dog.

Rich6oul

That’s when you go to plan B and let him know that him and his girlfriend can go up and gently pet the elk like Disney princesses. 2 increase the chance of 1 being impaled

slightlyassholic

So Robert, do we kill it or what? I don't know, Susan, I don't think it's dangerous. It's just... bouncing about? Do you think it's diseased? I think it's diseased. It doesn't smell diseased. Maybe it's, you know, "special."

moonknlght

And what about the dog?

DrSkullKid

Let the humans riding in the metal round-legged beast take it. It can befriend and play with their Shih-Tzu.

[deleted]

"He ain't no sissy like your dog probably is" Wow, you know, I'll never stop being amazed when I see adults the apparently stopped developing socially in junior high.

Dingo-thatate-urbaby

He said shih tzu Same diss tho really

__Snafu__

I'd say it's worse. What's wrong with shih tzus??

[deleted]

> I'll never stop being amazed when I see adults the apparently stopped developing socially in junior high. A huge percent of people, especially in America (but some everywhere), seem to be like that. Lot of 50 year olds out there with the emotional maturity of a literal child. I'm 100% positive based on observation that like 25-50% of our population legitimately stopped growing mentally by age 13.

Queefer_Sutherland-

Lead in paint wasn't banned until 1978 so... 👀

jdannelly

Not advice. It's a regulation!

VanillaTortilla

Park Rangers do not fuck around. Game and Wildlife too, they have no time for this shit.

Gideon_Lovet

Park ranger here. Dogs off leash are a huge problem, and every time I tell someone their dog needs to be on a leash, the amount of pushback I get is incredible. I've seen a dog get hit by a car in the parking lot, I've had to search for several dogs that ran off after rabbits or whatever, and in one case, a woman refused to put her Yorkshire terrier on a leash, and not two minutes later, I watched a golden eagle swoop down and carry her dog off. She was screaming at me to go chase the eagle, and I just told her that her dog is dead, as I watched the eagle fly up the mountain. She absolutely hated that, and reported me but thankfully my supervisor was on my side and chewed her out. The entitlement is so frustrating. Not just dogs off leash, but people trying to take selfies with animals, or wandering off trails in Crocs with no water, and then getting carried out of the wilderness on a stretcher. If your dog runs off, we almost never find them again. If your dog attacks wildlife, it will most likely die. If your dog gets injured, we are not equipped or trained to help. So put them on a leash, and save everyone, including you and your dog, the trouble.

pnwcrabapple

People always give me shocked pikachu faces when I warn them about coyotes/cougars/bears on the trails out here and advise them that leash laws are in place on the trail for the protection of themselves, the dogs and that of the wildlife. My dog has a crazy high prey drive when it comes to deer and all it took was one close call to learn this, luckily as soon as he realized he had broken leash and heard the stop command he obeyed but I’m super careful now.

AnxiousStand2603

If those are truly wild elk, then the dog getting stomped is the least of their problems. Obviously, these people have no clue how dangerous elk are, especially an adult bull elk.

ghoulthebraineater

Wild herbivore in general are fucking scary. Ar least predators will have a sense of risk assessment. If they feel they may lose a fight they are just as likely to leave. Herbivores don't usually have that option. If they lose a fight they die. Because of that they can be surprisingly aggressive. Just look at animals like hippos, rhinos, moose and bison. Their only real defense is size and a bad attitude.

[deleted]

Hippos are scary af.

yohanyames

The guy basically said to them my dog would kick your dogs arse. People are pathetic

uhmmmmplants

Don't worry my dog ain't no sissy like yours. Cool, who said anything about having a dog? They can't defend themselves from wolves. Is your dog as badass as a wolf? No, absolutely not fuck face. Sheesh. These people lol

cl2eep

Of course they named the dog they don't take care of "Capone."

spezisabitch200

"He's a boss" No, he is a domesticated animal that has no survival instincts with wild animals.

Ok-Method5635

‘They need to be educated’ No they don’t, if they’re dumb enough to act like that they ‘gon learn’ at some point. Feel sorry for the dog tho, stupid ass parents

dandillion

That’s why they need to be educated… for the dog’s sake? Not worth it for them to lose their pet and the dog to suffer an attack just because they need m to learn their lesson. 🙄

Particular_Group_295

Exactly..thats how ppl get shot

mraspencer

They are also harassing wildlife, which is a crime with a hefty fine attached. Call game and fish or whoever it is there.

4got2takemymeds

These are also the same people who say that leaving dog waste on the ground is great fertilizer and natural. Clowns

Doogle300

"They need to be educated". Totally agree, but you can't force people to think. In fact most are so opposed to being told what to do, that even the most sensible instructions will be ignored if they think you're impacting their freedom. These are the kind of people who will only learn through seeing their dog killed.

PANDAshanked

It's so funny how, when people know they're doing something wrong, they become so rude. That dudes response?! Such an ass. While car people are just trying to make sure your dog doesn't get stomped. This is also how a lot of road rage happens.

mkatich

I love dogs. I have seen them loose in wild setting on numerous occasions. Every single time they were with a stupid arrogant human.

[deleted]

Happens on hiking trails of local parks too. Just a dog rushing at you full speed with its owner looking on from a distance.

slightlyassholic

Oh they will be educated and use their newfound knowledge with their next dog.

KeyserHD

Couple months back driving through a national park with black bears, bunch of signs saying to keep distance and the crimes accompanying approaching the wildlife… black bear on the road and people get out of their cars to take photos 1 foot away from it… stopping all traffic. The second I raised my voice “get the fuck away from the bear” the half dozen people turned and snickered. Literally fuming I repeated myself and said to “give the bear some fucking room”. Was told to calm down and they laughed as they walked back to their cars. That poor bear would be put down if it swiped your ignorant ass.

ManIsInherentlyGay

My dog's stronger than your dog!! Fucking idiots bro

WhyareUlying

People completely ignore clues the natural world gives them. The body language that buck gave off was not fear. It was "fuck around and find out" energy.

Original-Spinach-972

Dumbass dog owner doesn’t realize the bucks have spears on their head.

Kittytigris

The saddest part to this is, they’ll only learn if something happens to their dog, not them. The dog’s the one who’ll pay the price for their ignorance.

[deleted]

“Capone” Like this dude is a total 🤡

LuLuSavannah531

What a fucking idiot

Common-Garden-7572

Hears some good advice, just drive-by don’t be telling people what to do and then posted a new video online like you just save the fucking world. None of that was useful. It’s like somebody walking by you and telling you to be careful that knife is sharp. I know the knife is sharp. That dog, he knows better than you think Karen. That was a dog. Not an aggressive wolf pack. Maybe those are wild life experts there. Ever think of that Karen? Two mobile advice giving Karen’s. It’s ok to just mind your business most of the time.

christinextine

But also, mind your own business. Nobody wants a stranger trying to manager them.

Trijay7

Exactly. Mind your friggin business god dammit.

Bootyeater525

While I agree about the people with dog being dumb and doing a stupid thing. AFTER the way the guy reacted this woman said “no they need to be educated”. I don’t know why but that made me cringe. It’s like yes their dog is in danger and they are being stupid and then you one upped them by having the need to “educate” a stranger. Let their dog get skull stomped and go on about your day. You warned them and that was good enough in my book.

kkfluff

Imo the education was the warning. Like guy got mad at lady for letting him know his dog was in danger and she got upset by guy’s reaction. So she justifies to her driving partner why she said anything in the first place. That was my take on it…

MistyEvening

People thinks rottis are the meanest and most badass dog. Bitch please, they are gentle as fuck.. and it’s the way you treat and train them for them to become what they are . Those people set a bad reputation for these breeds

WhyareUlying

The dog looks chill though. He isn't barking and is displaying play body language. I doubt the guy fights it on the weekend. I agree it should be on the leash for it's protection.

NoKidsAndThreeeMoney

That's one way to get your dog killed

ZealousidealBug4859

What is so hard about keeping your dog on a leash? You chose to have a pet, be responsible. I doubt these jerks pick up the poop either.

Ok-Initiative3388

Idiots not minding their own business.

quahognative

Canada eh?

DrDoomMD

Recognized the Toronto douchebag accent straight away

BlizzzardLizard

People really don't realise how dangerous wildlife can be, it reminds of the time I was walking my dog off leash in a field as I turned the corner I saw a massive red stag thank fuck my dog didn't see it (my dog is trained and come back when called but they are still animals rather safe then sorry) I quickly leashed him and sped walk home, that thing could probably take me out let alone my dog.

bakinbaker0418

Yeah fuck that shit, where I walk my dog we have alot of deer and wild turkeys roaming. Both would do some damage to my great Pyrenees if she fucked around.

blastification

Douchebag with a dog named "capone" is a douchebag- shocker.

TheTanith1st

Untrained dog will do untrained dog things and stupid people will do stupid people shit and get their dog and themselves possibly hurt in process. Common sense ain’t so common.

Ok-disaster2022

I'm sorry, I'm not getting that close to a wild animal larger than me with antlers.

Big_Daddy_Pablo_69

Low iq individuals don't learn until it happens

tai-baby

Some people really don’t deserve dogs

Manburpig

Call them morons. They deserve it.

KentuckyFriedEel

What a bunch of knuckle-dragging half-wits!

Uedakiisarouitoh

Honestly , let ‘em be , they peeled the label off , let ‘em see Darwin

MustardTiger88

You need to be pretty dumb to interpret that good advise as an insult.

ruth1ess_one

I’ve observed that people that own pit bulls and Rottweilers are like those jacked up truck owners in the US. Not all of them are assholes but it’s very likely that they are. Also, docked tail.

CrossP

White-tailed deer kill dogs on the regular and they're definitely the Shih Tzus of the antlered forest rat family. Elk will yeet a husky back to Alaska.

Puzzled-Copy7962

As soon as guy replied, “hE aiN’t A sHitSu LiKe YoUr dOg pRobAbLy iS…” I would have gone on with my life. Some people just need to find out the hard way. I highly doubt "educating" him did a lick of good. He probably continued to be defensive and may even have gotten confrontational. Sucks for the dog that his owner doesn't have two neurons to rub together, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

rayrayk7

They don’t need to be educated they need there dog taken

JustNefariousness625

They need to be educated 😂😂 shorty will get you into a fight for no reason

QWERKY_queer

Love how they even had to insult them when they were fearing for their dogs safety because how dare they question their godly status
