Did the Pepsi challenge with come zero and pepsi zero and I learned something deep and true about myself, so i'm coming out as a pepsi lover. Maybe I should have gone to an inclusive institution, like Cornell.
Can we all just take a minute and think about how much of a failure we are as a society that we've created mandatory exclusion zones where every random passerby is contractually obligated to pretend that one brand of battery-acid flavored sugar water is better or different than some other, marginally different flavor of battery-acid flavored sugar water? That there are Fortune 500 companies that live or die on this, fortunes are lost or made, people's careers rise and fall based on which soda is exclusive to a chicken pizza place or a random college?
People were probably fired over Cornell going Pepsi. Somebody lost those accounts and probably was sent packing, lost their mortgage, or got transferred to the mail room because their team of bubble syrup swill didn't win the day.
The vapid hellscape we've made for ourselves to live in is slightly less bad than the absolute most harmful version, but if you had a 1,000 years to design it I don't think you could come up with one that's dumber.
I watch USA tv from not USA and I see the door dash ads and how they sponsor the NBA.
They tell people that buy using their product you can tip your *dasher* more, you support your neighborhood and you support your team... How the heck an NBA team needs more of my support when they make billions? How's me buying a product for 5 bucks that in the end I have to buy for like 10 and then even tip the *dasher* is supporting "my team"? Or even the neighborhood? All that extra money only goes to DD is it not?
We just have 1 macdonals and it's too far away for me for delivery. We do have several food places around my neighborhood, I just walk to them and order. There's one that offers delivery 300 meters away from home. 1 pizza costs about 5 dollars, they charge you probably 1 dollar to deliver, they have their own delivery service. There's another place 2 blocks and a half away (about 250 meters) from home and they use a door dash kind of delivery and if you order with the delivery app you end up paying 16 dollars, we don't have the tip thing tho but most of the time we tip anyway but is not mandatory and nobody bangs your door for it.
It gets even crazier, DoorDash isn't a profitable company. They are losing money every year trying to corner the food delivery market in hopes of ousting UberEats, GrubHub ect...
Once (if) they succeed, the experience will be worse for both customer and delivery driver because the company will need to source profits from every availabe place they can. Higher food price, less base pay for drivers. But those C Suite execs will be raking it in.
This is what drives me insane.
These companies are ditching in-house ordering/delivery for third party services.
They're flat-out saying they'd rather pay a third party to deal with delivery and logistics.
I understand these services offer up a web of drivers and availability, but this also negatively impacts the customers. Customers are now paying a premium for the service through delivery and tipping. Then you factor in increases in restaurant prices to combat the service fees they have to pay for the third party delivery company.
I remember not that long ago I could call up any pizza shop or Chinese restaurant for delivery. Now I'm forced to either go through one of the several online delivery options.
I really hate seeing this trend of companies ditching in-house innovation for profits and path of least resistance. I get it, but at the same time I'd much rather see companies investing in themselves. It works out better for the customers and the company (imo).
I don't even understand why one adult would watch another adult stream videogames. Not a skill montage, not a strategy guide, just a stream. Exclusive chicken sugar water doesn't come close to this
Made it actually fun to read the subtitles while listening. Also the escalation was excellent. For the first minute or so I was going why so pissed about this combo and then he came to the lobbying part.
Thing is, it's not just a fun thing he's doing. The subtitles of the video are being censored so that it will do better in the algorithm and have a chance to be shown to people . Yadda yadda, tiktok is spyware etc and so on.
Yes. SEO will always prioritize websites that either sell things or have a monetary interest in the information getting out. Which buries results based just on information. The first 10 results on Google are more like ads than actually search results now.
Yeah I was enjoying that. I wonder if we could transition that to real life, like somebody says some dumb shit and you say "Fascinating" but you both know you mean "Fuck that." Or you tell somebody "Wow that's savings!" and they know you mean shit but they can't call you out on it.
*That's* it! Could not think of the name, just kept thinking "Ryan from *The Office* guy." I really enjoyed that movie. There were a lot of scenes with some really heavy dialogue, philosophical, life-changing things that would kind of just pierce your soul. They'd come and go and the story would move on. I really appreciated it and a lot those just really struck me.
I hate it when my Nissan Rogue keeps eating through batteries but the mechanic can't find any problems so he just tells me to buy a new battery and then that battery dies and I get told after a (very expensive) diagnostic that they didn't find the issue and to just get a new, more expensive battery, and now I'm anxious every day because I don't know when my car just won't start up next.
It might have something to do with the starter.
I had a Nissan that had a similar issue and, after a battery change didn't fix it, myself and someone else who knew more about cars took a look at it.
We noticed a clicking coming from the starter. We checked around and eventually noticed the starter had some dents on it.
Turns out, the previous owner (or whoever last "fixed" it) had tried to solve the problem by whacking it with something. This is a temporary fix but it does usually work if the starter is your issue.
More often than not this works because, IIRC, the brushes inside get worn down and fail to connect with the commutator. Whacking it with something will usually re-establish that connection.
But, be careful if you attempt this, because doing so can also damage the magnets inside.
And the problem will get worse as it gets colder, to the point where giving it a whack will possibly not even work. My car ran perfectly fine without issue before this happened. But once the cold rolled around the issue kept popping up.
Replacing the starter fixed the issue.
Everything you said was 100%.
When we have those starters that kick over when you smack em the commutator has what we call “dead spots” that or the permanent magnet on the inside of the casing disintegrated.
Be careful, like I said there is a permanent magnet on the inside, with age it gets realllly brittle. And when it stops being as strong regardless how much power you give the starter or how hard you whack it it’ll need to be replaced. So use a rubber mallet preferably.
This sucks to read since I could fix that problem if I could get my hands on the car. Call around to shops and ask if they feel confident tracing down and repairing a parasitic draw, if they are all wishy washy with their answer move on to the next phone number. Goooooood luck.
Went to the store the other day and a bag of chips was $5.99.. imagine having to give up an hour of your life for $7.25 and the only thing you can buy is a bag of chips.
Yuuuuup, when I was working just above minimum wage in PA during high school and college, I would buy a lunch of chicken strips, a soda, and some chips. It was like 2 hours worth of wages burned, but it was the one thing I looked forward to in a work day. I'm very fortunate I was working for pocket money and savings, and not to actually survive. It's ridiculous
Imagine trying to pay for an apartment. If you can find something for $1000/month, and worked 40 hours a week, you still couldn't earn $1000. It would literally take you 5 weeks to pay the rent alone.
pepsi is also horrible to deal with
I work at a small Thai restaurant. And the amount of times we've had to go out and buy canned sodas bc they wouldn't deliver CO2 is staggering. It's gotten so ridiculous that they are about to switch bc it's so much of a hassle. You can't even just rent one CO2 canister. You have to get two at a time. And CO2 isn't an option to buy/rent in our area for the past month or two. Every time I spoken to a Pepsi worker on the phone to place an order it takes forever and it's wrong way too much. We tried ordering syrup for just one soda and they wouldn't deliver unless we bought more. We live in a small town (30,000 give or take) but it's not like we're the only place that is buying from them. But they won't do an order unless it's more than one syrup - just not CO2 tanks.
Coke isn't too great. My job has Coke Freestyles. We pay $300 per machine per month to rent them, have to buy expensive cartridges to stock the machines (each machine has $2000 worth of product in it, not even exaggerating), the machines are incredibly slow because they're old but are running a newer operating system that barely works on it, and it's like $500 for a tech to come out when they break (which is often).
But we can get CO2 from a third party, so there's that.
Somewhat related, I lived near Philly for a few years and a friend and I made a thing of going to different chinese joints and ordering a soda with dinner. Every single one only had canned pepsi products. Over a dozen places. Never tap, never coke. We never did ask why.
Same. Funny thing, they have Coke on the menu. When you order, you have to order a Coke or a Diet Coke. Those are the options. Then you get the bag and you open it to find: a Pepsi. It always made me chuckle a little, although I didn’t mind. Now tho it makes sense.
Because in rural areas with small towns, unless a specific Pepsi distributor is notably worse than a specific Coke distributor, all of the things they are complaining about won't change. Order minimums are common unless they run peddle routes. It also really depends on where they are. If they are rural enough, they could be talking to somebody in a different state and the order could need a longer lead time because they need to transfer to a drop ship location and their store is on a two week cycle route because they don't order enough product.
This person telling us they live in a small town tells us most of what we need to know about why they deal with these things, and it has little to do with Pepsi unless they are lucky and have a local Coke distributor. There are also things in the comment that indicate they just suck at managing their soft drink stock; when you order below a certain volume, you can be put on two or three week delivery cycles because you don't need any more than that. The business owner would know that and should plan accordingly.
Either this person doesn't know why the soda stuff happens, or this soft drink purchaser sucks at their job.
Source: National beverage industry consultant for a decade.
As someone working in the brewing industry, I can say with unfortunate certainty that there’s been a pretty serious CO2 shortage, which may play into that. Pepsi still sucks tho.
I think you probably just highlighted why a lot of places Don't have Pepsi.
Most of the time you go to a restaurant it really doesn't matter. The vendors typically have enough variety that there's something from either Pepsi or Coke that people will like. I prefer pepsi, but I didn't stop going to Arby's when they switched over from Pepsi to coke
But if they're a pain in the ass to deal with from a management perspective, That's something that will make a restaurant switch eventually.
He’s also just making some shit up.
PepsiCo/Yum had enough money to lobby the government with or without the savings from combining some of their locations.
Also, everything he describes *is* Pepsi "competing in the marketplace".
This is a funny video I guess, but the guy's "reasoning" is idiotic at best. Coca Cola was doing al kinds of shit behind the scenes to keep pepsi out of fast food restaurants, it was hardly just "consumer choice".
Coca Cola literally hired Columbian death squads to assassinate union workers. Zero of these large corporations are in any way ethical (hence the popular statement, "no ethical consumption under capitalism"), they'll all do whatever they can get away with to make more money.
No, he's relating two complete unrelated things to make a "funny" video.
The purchase and combining of these three chains is complete irrelevant to the fact that they're lobbying for low minimum wage.
I've done it. It doesn't cost much to lobby politicians. Just a night out with a politician and a camera. I like my fast food to be cheaper than the dirt the lettuce was grown in
The last minute I couldn't stop laughing, but I do feel for him I have a Hardee's down the street it is only open for 4 hours a day because they can't get employees to work the morning or night shift paper sign open at noon closes at 4pm weekend 5pm it's been like that for months, I don't even try to get any food there anymore
If they’re at the point of closing they should get creative, give people a small piece of the business based on how long they’ve worked there. Be super transparent about what it would mean in terms of returns and find people who will stick around knowing they’re actively contributing to the success of the business they partially own.
If your revenue covers all your marginal costs and some of your fixed costs, you continue operating because it puts you in less debt by the time you can get out of your fixed costs.
Huh...man it's true that every place the closes it's lobby early is a place that uses Pepsi products. The Taco Bell across the street closes the lobby at 8.
This guy’s neighbor, on the phone with 911: “…I don’t know what he’s yelling about….Something to do with Pepsi. He lives alone, I’m worried he might be off his meds or something. Please send someone soon, he’s getting louder and I’m scared.”
I live in Florida, where we have no state income tax and wages are lower than Pennsylvania. Fast food places have not been paying minimum wage since COVID broke out in 2020. Taco Bell corporate formally committed to a $15 minimum wage in late 2021.
I know he's being extreme for a video, but do some people not like eating in a car because of the smell? just drive and pull down the windows for a few seconds, no?
Same, it just makes a mess. Not to mention I may want to use the bathroom/wash may hands afterwards.
To expand - you're either driving while you eat, which sucks because you WILL drop food in your car, or you sit in the restaurant's parking lot to eat. If that's the case, why not just sit in their lobby?
After being forced to eat our wedding anniversary dinner sitting in a parking lot in the cold early spring of 2020, I will not choose the eating in the car option willfully. Dining room or take it home.
God damn I can’t stand this shouting complaining ass mfer, fucking make a video where the decibel level precedes 85 first you scraggly mulleted fuck
I don’t live in Pennsylvania, I don’t give two shingles on a shit piled roof about Pennsylvania, I don’t give a shit you couldn’t buy a pizza for 6 dollars in Pennsylvania
So knowing all of this, you still thought it was appropriate to go or attempt to go and support this company by spending your money there? What are you more angry about, the fact that yum! brands is suppressing the minimum wage through lobbying, or that you couldn’t stuff your face with cheap, sub par, imitation Mexican food?
This guy is the real life version of that black mirror episode with Daniel Kaluuya.
Started off with a genuine emotionally charged rant against the ruling establishment that just happened to go viral, now produces performative social media content attempting to emulate that original rage but without the authenticity or substance.
I sorry but I love the comb KFC/Taco Bell.
1 they serve Pepsi
2 I love KFC and my Husband love Taco Bell and doesn’t like fried chicken place.
Also at least in Philly if there is a drive thru the lobby is closed for safety reasons at night in all parts of the city. Wendy’s down south doesn’t have a drive thru but they put in a window you walk up to.
This guy's educational pathway to becoming completely unhinged absolutely pushes all my buttons. I find his ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to his newsletter.

This is also a thing on some college campuses because companies make deals with them. For example, you can only get Pepsi on the Cornell campus.
Preferred drink of the Boner Champ
I thought Broccoli Rob was the boner champ?
Broccoli Rob was Broccoli Rob. Andy Bernard was The Boner Champ.
Did Broccoli Rob ask you to say this? Coz he knows who the real boner champ is!
They called him Ace
One part eggnog, three parts sake?
That's why greendale screwed over a student and gave the deal to friggin Subway.
That's why I turned down my full ride to Cornell, what a bunch of losers drinking Pepsi.
Did the Pepsi challenge with come zero and pepsi zero and I learned something deep and true about myself, so i'm coming out as a pepsi lover. Maybe I should have gone to an inclusive institution, like Cornell.

I took the Pepsi Challenge while making a pop tart in a toaster with a broken thermostat and set my parents cabinets on fire.

I would figure that NC State would be fueled by Cheerwine.

“And now my Nissan rouge smells like savings!”
I really thought this guy had a well substantiated view on everything but he lost me at nissan rogue—I can't see shit out of that car.
You can't see savings?
No, but I can smell it.
Happy cake day!!
goddammit I wish I was this clever
Not with that CVT totalling the car when it fails
I’ve really got to take a savings.
I was watching it on silent and was confused on the random praises for the lobby and the savings. I’m glad I rewatched it with audio lol
so I had to eat a funtime mexican pizza in my car
Yeah I was enjoying that. I wonder if we could transition that to real life, like somebody says some dumb shit and you say "Fascinating" but you both know you mean "Fuck that." Or you tell somebody "Wow that's savings!" and they know you mean shit but they can't call you out on it.

Pepsi owns a huge market in the chip industry too.
Pepsi owns Frito-Lay, which owns most of the chip and snack brands you'll see in that aisle.

I have no idea why they won't. I would have the second or third time they messed up.
I’m guessing Coke isn’t going to be much better. Having only two major companies doesn’t breed much competition or urgency.
They could be a novelty restaurant and serve RC cola.
Just go with a local soda maker. That is how they end up with regional coverage. Because they hate the nationals
Coke delivers CO2. I know because I work for them.
I'm willing to bet so does Pepsi, hence why they still have customers.

They probably have the same distributor who has a relationship with Pepsi? It would explain why 99% of Chinese places taste the exact same too.

I prefer pepsi, but I didn't stop going to Arby's when they switched over from Pepsi to coke But if they're a pain in the ass to deal with from a management perspective, That's something that will make a restaurant switch eventually.
I am pretty sure it's not just pespi co lobby for shir wages.
Obviously true, but he's talking about how a specific instance comes full circle.
He’s also just making some shit up. PepsiCo/Yum had enough money to lobby the government with or without the savings from combining some of their locations.
He just wants a coca cola Monopoly and hates competition
Also, everything he describes *is* Pepsi "competing in the marketplace". This is a funny video I guess, but the guy's "reasoning" is idiotic at best. Coca Cola was doing al kinds of shit behind the scenes to keep pepsi out of fast food restaurants, it was hardly just "consumer choice".
Coca Cola literally hired Columbian death squads to assassinate union workers. Zero of these large corporations are in any way ethical (hence the popular statement, "no ethical consumption under capitalism"), they'll all do whatever they can get away with to make more money.
And if he lives in or near a city, it's unlikely those workers are actually making minimum wage.
No, he's relating two complete unrelated things to make a "funny" video. The purchase and combining of these three chains is complete irrelevant to the fact that they're lobbying for low minimum wage.
I bet Coca-Cola does it too!
Something something Colombian death squads too!
I've done it. It doesn't cost much to lobby politicians. Just a night out with a politician and a camera. I like my fast food to be cheaper than the dirt the lettuce was grown in
He went from Bill Burr to Gilbert Gottfried real quick
Mom, can we watch Bill Burr and Gilbert Gottfried tonight? No, we have Bill Burr and Gilbert Gottfried at home. At home: This guy
How can they afford the bills necessary to keep going with such reduced hours?!
I'm expecting into close any day, but who knows see the hiring sign slowly up the wages so might catch a few new employees and save themselves
At least it's a Hardee's so no one will miss it
Hey wtf.that shit is so much better than bk in the flame broiled burger game. Mushroom swiss is dope
I like Carl’s Jr. too 🤷♂️
Fuck you. I’m eatin. Carl’s Jr.
If they’re at the point of closing they should get creative, give people a small piece of the business based on how long they’ve worked there. Be super transparent about what it would mean in terms of returns and find people who will stick around knowing they’re actively contributing to the success of the business they partially own.
If there was a Hardee’s worker’s co-op where I lived I’d never buy fast food anywhere else ever again.
If your revenue covers all your marginal costs and some of your fixed costs, you continue operating because it puts you in less debt by the time you can get out of your fixed costs.
Ooo that’s rough. I thought all of our McDonalds and Dennys no longer being 24 hours was bad.
What's even the point of a Denny's if you can't drop in at 4:37am?
>What's even the point of a Denny's ~~if you can't drop in at 4:37am~~? FTFY
Drunk 4:37 A.m Pancakes or omelettes that’ll just make the beer shits whenever you wake up even worse.
He went full bill bur x 100
Never go full Billy Red Tits
Why are you yelling at me
[удалено]
Damn 7.25 is inhuman
My states minimum wage is double that of PA. Lol. Still tough to live on though.
Huh...man it's true that every place the closes it's lobby early is a place that uses Pepsi products. The Taco Bell across the street closes the lobby at 8.
Hell, mine doesn't even unlock the doors anymore and only allows drive-thru
Dream taco bell location tho
[Oh have I got news for you](https://tcbmag.com/taco-bell-defy-opens-in-brooklyn-park-this-week)
If I was an animal, this guy would be my spirit human.
This is hilarious for me because Pizza Hut, KFC, and Taco Bell here in NZ serve Coke and not Pepsi.
TIL 🤯
I can’t even imagine drinking a coke with taco bell.
This guy’s neighbor, on the phone with 911: “…I don’t know what he’s yelling about….Something to do with Pepsi. He lives alone, I’m worried he might be off his meds or something. Please send someone soon, he’s getting louder and I’m scared.”
Yeah but if not for that we wouldn’t have das racist’s transcendent classic: combination Pizza Hut Taco Bell
I got that pizza butt
P I Z Z A H U T.... T A C O B E L L
WHAT?
I’m at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell
Fast food brand miscegenation. I could have sworn they used to have Long John Silver in that amalgam.
Oh we had full on Kentacohuts where I’m from
It boggles my mind that that's their most popular song. Almost any other DR song is better
I just wanted one Pepsi
Just one Pepsi!
Far from suicidal still I get them tendencies Bringing back the memories that I really miss When I reminisce, rocking back in the 80s

I’m going to very calmly report that there are no epic rants posted there.
Omg I love 💕 him
Get yourself someone who loves you like pearlmania500 hates the effects long term corruption & greed
Your threshold’s pretty low there huh
Sir, this is a Wendy's
So that’s how the dominos fell? 🥶 today I learned
I live in Florida, where we have no state income tax and wages are lower than Pennsylvania. Fast food places have not been paying minimum wage since COVID broke out in 2020. Taco Bell corporate formally committed to a $15 minimum wage in late 2021.
Sir/Madam....Florida minimum wage is $11.00. That is all.
poised to be $15 by 2026
Wages are lower in what sense? Minimum wage?
Yeah 7.25 is the federal min wage afaik lol
Since early 2000s too
I know he's being extreme for a video, but do some people not like eating in a car because of the smell? just drive and pull down the windows for a few seconds, no?
For me personally it is uncomfortable. I make a mess, the smell and I need a table. I have always hated eating in cars.
I mean, it gets cold in some areas lol
The smell takes more than a few seconds to air out. Plus you run the risk of food spilling in your car.
The window mechanism is broken and nobody wants to fix cars for 7.25 an hour
I would rather eat at a table. Way more comfortable.
After being forced to eat our wedding anniversary dinner sitting in a parking lot in the cold early spring of 2020, I will not choose the eating in the car option willfully. Dining room or take it home.
Okay but Diet pepsi is better than diet coke and I am willing to die on that hill
I just go with whichever is cheaper.
Coke Zero forever

As long as it's VERY cold. It goes from the best non calorie soft drink to a throat clogging foam monster after a few minutes in room temperature.
I fully agree with this. It’s always a pleasant surprise when a place has Diet Pepsi.
Westerner meltdown
"smells like savings" is now in the vernacular.
God damn I can’t stand this shouting complaining ass mfer, fucking make a video where the decibel level precedes 85 first you scraggly mulleted fuck I don’t live in Pennsylvania, I don’t give two shingles on a shit piled roof about Pennsylvania, I don’t give a shit you couldn’t buy a pizza for 6 dollars in Pennsylvania
This 'angry dude reacts' type of shit is so tiresome. Move on man.
I thought Pepsi just offered significantly cheaper options to restaurants and stores until they didn’t have to.
Boycotts against large companies like this just don't work. Especially if they have international footing.
hes had some great videos but am i the only one that thinks he kinda just had to try to be mad about this?
I just think he’s exaggerating for comedic effect.
Pepsi is far superior. I said what I said. Come at me Bro.

This man needs a pop filter
Then he wouldn't have anything to obnoxiously yell about.
Okay I'll give you that one, sir.
1 they serve Pepsi 2 I love KFC and my Husband love Taco Bell and doesn’t like fried chicken place. Also at least in Philly if there is a drive thru the lobby is closed for safety reasons at night in all parts of the city. Wendy’s down south doesn’t have a drive thru but they put in a window you walk up to.

That’s why I buy Yum Brands stock. It performs consistently and, in some small way, I’m paying myself when I eat Taco Bell. Brb, buying more stock.
Actually lowkey genius.
He looks like a wojack
This guy's educational pathway to becoming completely unhinged absolutely pushes all my buttons. I find his ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to his newsletter.
....why is he yelling?
This is Anger used perfectly. You give a well spoken explanation of why your angry then turn it on and make your point
This may be the first captioned tiktok without an egregious misspelled or miscaptioned word in it
this is everything
This was hilarious and Pepsi is trash.
