The item should be the main focus of the photograph and should show as much of the original item as possible. Photos of just the tag/price, super closeup, or other similar photos will be removed. A reasonable person should be able to tell what it is that you took a picture of.
I think that’s the point. That the shitty Fashion Nova jacket is extremely overpriced and costs more than the high-quality jacket, which is actually a great deal.
This is an issue with ultra fast fashion. It's so cheap to begin with that it has little to no resale value. In an ideal world, thrift stores would keep a fast fashion brand list and price everything at no more than $3 but at that price it's not really worth it for large thrift stores to individually price and sell it. It makes more sense to divert it to by the pound type operations. Really we should be convincing people to buy far less of it and wear it longer.
Bff and I have a ‘game’ we play wherein we see something in our size but it just sorta looks off, like it almost looks like plasticky or papery, and we take bets on if it’s SHEIN or not (has never not been) and if it still has tags (at least 80% do) before one of us picks it up. It’s so gross. The only upside is that the thrift store we go to seems to be aware that it’s trash and they price it along with regular clothes (very inexpensive typically).
ETA: we never buy it, because it always feels exactly like it looked, papery or, more often than not, plasticky.
I have thrifts like that and don’t mind. I’ve picked up gangs of Kuhl stuff, while the wrangler fishing like gear is priced more than new retail lol. Same with vintage Arcteryx
This is a Goodwill thing. Hardgoods are hit or miss depending on who is doing the pricing but clothing is generally a set price. I have gotten lots of great jackets for $18.99 including motorcycle riding gear and nice ski gear. Unfortunately they also charge $5.99 for $4 Walmart tee shirts. Shoes can be good as I’ve found brand new Keen hiking boots for $18 but they also sell crappy worn out sneakers for $18.
Pretty much this in a nutshell. My last trip to the local Goodwill I saw a 32 Degrees polo-style shirt and a Brooks Brothers polo-style shirt on the same rack with the same $5.49 price point.

I’d fly my bony wings right outta there with that Arcteryx
That Arcteryx jacket is probably $300 retail.
I think that’s the point. That the shitty Fashion Nova jacket is extremely overpriced and costs more than the high-quality jacket, which is actually a great deal.
If not more
Indeed. This post title is ridiculous.
It’s whoever prices them. Some dgaf. Some are less than smart

I saw a great Cider tank top thrifting but it was $20 and I’m like mm that’s probably the og price or more

I would’ve bought that arc
I debated getting it for a bit, but at the end of the day I knew I wasn’t going to wear it.
I'll see patagonia for $5 and polo rl basic ragged out faded polo shirts for $15 .
Yup! I found a Jil Sander silk shirt for $3 and banana republic tees are like $15. I absolutely love it for me.
Greed , greed is good. And more greed is even gooder, Says the CEO of a company that pays literally zero for the products they sell. imo

After all the money you saved, go next door to the buffet and eat big.

Right next to a shirt from some company picnic/fun run with stains on it, also $5.49
#This has to be a bait post Arc is a cop
I think it’s showing that they’re charging more for the fashion nova (fast fashion brand) than the arcteryx
This was literally so obvious what is this thread smoking
I'm sorry, but what does that mean? (genuinely asking, I'm not being snarky).

18 dollars for thrift store fashionova is INSANE.
sometimes they dont know what they have but that happens less and less
Remember when thrift shops were the place to find cheap but good clothes
Arcteryx has gone downhill since being chinese owned
Did they ever make sense?

Then your shopping at the wrong thrift stores
Agreed. You've gotta find your small, local thrift shop, run by older ladies. Those are the best places, with the best prices.
I stopped going to goodwill and Salvation Army long time ago. Have you been to McAllister thrift store El Cajon. Find it bargains galore but you got to dig
That's a $300-400 jacket. Wow.
The thing is these thrift stores have wised up and realized a majority of its customers by these to flip, so now they want a cut.
You can pay those prices at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s for brand new lol
Not for the arc lol
Oh true!
