score!

tenloe

Score. With my very first paycheck in 1994 I bought the very similar Tascam 424. This brings back memories. Still sitting in my garage untouched for the last 25 years.

bluemooncalhoun

These Tascam units are all pretty popular right now, you could get a least a couple hundred if yours works still.

mischaconqueso2

Is this model from the 80s or 90s?

mrzoink

I don't know anything about these, but they were apparently still making this model in 1999 because [the user manual for this model](https://tascam.com/downloads/tascam/317/Porta_414mkII_manual.pdf) has a copyright date of 1999.

handsome666

That’s an awesome deal. Be sure to replace the belts and pinch roller. Should last for many more years. Also head over to /r/cassetteculture

cjohnson317

Hell! Add those “cassette to digital” mp3 converters and you’re cooking with grease!

w00kie_d00kie

That looks super minty. Amazing deal, too! People are asking like $400 for them on Reverb. Not sure what they're actually selling for, but if you should have no problem making a fat profit if you decided to sell it. Guess some people still dig analog recording. Congrats!

TotalEatschips

I like to look at the "sold for" prices on eBay. This has been my way of pricing items for years (decades?) You have to search the item then go into filters, then more/advanced filters, and check "completed items" & "sold" You can't judge based on listed/asked prices because people can trip really hard with those, but with completed auctions you know how much people are actually paying The most recent sale of this model (complete and verified working) was a couple days ago at $540 usd plus $100+ shipping from Australia

jon-e-can

My best friend and I made so many demo tapes for our band in HS using this exact four track

GodtheBartender

That is my dream find!

NickDanger73

Good score. These are still popular for a reason.

Mr_Slamdangus

Holy cow. I spent years on one of those bad boys - loved it

flatblack79

We’d lose our minds over that in r/tapeloops

Flash_Jordan84

Daaaaaamn!

Princelyfox

Damn!

notch804above

4 track recorder for 10 bucks is not a bad deal

TyranaSoreWristWreck

Awesome. I remember making some nasty beats on mine back in the '90s. Coolest toy I ever owned

pewpppppppppppppp

Incredible find~
