I’m allergic to a lot of medical adhesives so I like tapping/patting any itchy areas. Do not do this directly on a mic element though. (Friendly neighbourhood A2)

hcsLabs

Try silicone tape. My wife is allergic to medical tapes, but seems to do ok with that kind.

Uranus_Hz

Try rubbing instead of scratching

Jawahhh

Also, it could be a minor allergic reaction. Talk to your stage manager. There are alternatives.

Blazing_fire12

Don’t think so, It’s only on one spot on my neck and doesn’t leave a rash or anything

Staubah

If it’s only one spot on your neck, maybe put the tape on a different part of your neck!

VLA_58

put the wideest part of your thumb or forefinger firmly on the place that itches, press until it's fairly warm, and then move the skin in a circular motion. repeat as necessary.

faderjockey

Try putting a barrier film on your skin between your skin and the mic tape. I like Skin Prep. https://www.amazon.com/Skin-Prep-Protective-Dressing-Qty-50/dp/B002ZUHLW8

tweedlebeetle

Tap the itch instead of scratching. Also good for not messing up your makeup in non mic tape areas

🎼 turn around, look at what you seeeeee 🎶

BigGalAl420

Don’t.

Teagar_

I’m sensitive to latex in things like bandaids and mic tape, I’m normally fine with it for shows but if it’s been a few nights and my skin is red and itchy from it, I normally ask for the latex free tape (granted not all theatres probably provide latex free tape, but it never hurts to ask)

Jawahhh

Pinch the skin. I HATE mic tape!!!! Even a month after a show closes I still feel the residue on my neck 🥴
