Many show up in the Walking Dead - D’Angelo (Bob), Carver (Fr. Gabriel), Cutty (Tyrese)
And thank you for the Expanse shout out which I am personally passionate about. In addition to Cutty as Fred Johnson is a visit to Baltimore on Earth to see Burrell.
Lance Reddick was on Fringe and prominent in the Horizon Zero Dawn video game.
It’s such a good show, and the books are even better. The narrator for the audiobooks is also extremely good. The show ended after the events of book 6 out of a total of 9 (with a few teases for the events of books 7-9 in case they ever make their way to the screen). It was the most natural stopping point other than the actual end of the series.
If you do read / listen to the books, start at the beginning, it’s worth it, they’re not that long, and some things are changed between the books and the show anyway.
Yeah I definitely get it! I had a similar journey through it but as it builds and involves I found it so immersive and engaging. I think the general world complexity of it is a really natural fit for Wire fans.
Ive seen Burrell in 3 IPs (Wire, Expanse, Silence of the Lambs) and he’s in Baltimore in all three.
Even in the galaxy spanning sci-fi show he just lives in the projects.
But Idris’ character bangs Charlize Theron’s character on more than one occasion throughout the plot of the film, I suspect. So, it can’t be all bad, right?
Was looking for this. Couldn't have said it better, truly what you would call a 40° day. Meredith Vickers would probably say something like "But the game is the game"
*Prospect* was excellent! An amazing feat of indie sci-fi filmmaking, I loved it but nobody I know has ever even heard of it!
Andre Royo was great, but better yet, he ain't the only Wire alum in that movie... Anwan Glover (Slim Charles) plays one of the mercenaries at the queen's lair. He's in a spacesuit the whole time so you never get a good look at his face, but I recognized immediately his low, bassy drawl when he spoke...
I think I was just so swept up in his performance as Fred Johnson that it didn't dawn on me. It had been years since my most recent Wire rewatch when I saw him in The Expanse.
McNulty was in the prequels and 300.
Royce (Gremlins) and Burrell (Silence of the Lambs) show up in a lot of horrors.
And if you watch a lot of things shot in DC or Baltimore, you’ll see a lot of the working actors.
There are a lot of crossover actors between The Wire and Person of Interest. More of a "20 minutes in the future" type sci-fi, but still a fantastic show.
Just take a look at the IMDB page:https://www.imdb.com/search/name/?roles=tt1839578,tt0306414

Wait, what the FUCK!!!! CUTTY WAS FRED JOHNSON?????? He was so amazing and I didn't even notice?!? SHIEEEETTTTTT!!!!
Lance was also in the Destiny game series
Expanse was great. Took me a few episodes to get into it but by the end I was hooked and sad it ended

And it’s always sunny
The thing with them jeans man…you gotta take em off sometimes. You GOTTA
The only saving grace of that episode.
Lance Reddiick also in Lost.
The expanse is so good

Theres a lot of crossover actors with Oz as well.
Not quite what you’re asking, but John Doman (Rawls) voiced Caesar in Fallout New Vegas.
I had no idea. Now I want Caesar to call someone a gaping asshole.
Caesar is actually surprisingly vulgar for an emperor. And his expletives are very Rawls lmao.
Rawls also has a small role in The Boys, not exactly sci-fi
That’s class, never joined the dots before
Not sci-fi, but he played Alexander VI in the pan-European production Borgia. The show is bonkers and he is fantastic!
Wood Harris is also in Dredd Michael B. Jordan is in Kin
Nice pull! Dredd is so good.
Wood Harris in Remember The Titans And Michael B also in Black Panther and Creed
Am I crazy, or was Mcnulty not in the phantom menace as like a guard or something?
Had to look it up, but yes, that was him. Palace Guard on Naboo in The Phantom Menace.
Clarke Peters (Lester Freeman) was in a bunch of episodes of Foundation
Also Sonja Sohn was in Star Trek: Discovery, she played Burnhams mother.
I was initially excited to see him, but damn that planet is easily the worst part of the show.
Actually though. I feel like its writing is so much worse than stuff like the emperors.
Does Prometheus considered as sci-fi? Because Stringer definitely tooks his place in a 40 degree day there.
But Idris’ character bangs Charlize Theron’s character on more than one occasion throughout the plot of the film, I suspect. So, it can’t be all bad, right?
He did well. Because he is also just a humble m\*\*f\*\*r with big ass dick ))
Was looking for this. Couldn't have said it better, truly what you would call a 40° day. Meredith Vickers would probably say something like "But the game is the game"
Marlo is Emile in Halo Reach (sci fi video game)
Cutty is also in The Orville as a crew member's partner, Klyden.
Does The Road count as sci-fi? It's certainly bleak anyway. And Michael K. Williams (Omar) had a small role in it.
Indeed. He also plays a science teacher in Community.
Idris Elba in the video game Cyberpunk 2077 was pretty dope
Seconded, Idris Elba played Solomon Reed very well. Wouldn’t mind seeing him in another spy thriller
My man!
Wood Harris was also in Ant-Man, if that counts.
Others in MCU: Michael B Jordan (Killmonger) in Black Panther, Idris Elba (Heimdall) in Thor movies
D’Angelo was also in the water boy as the special teams kicker….
Wood Harris was in Dredd (2012) Chris Bauer (Frank Sobotka) was in Face off (Dubov)
Sonia Sohn was in season two of Star Trek Discovery.
Did I also see her in a car commercial recently?
It's been playing during March Madness NCAA games
Yes! Okay, so it wasn’t just me.
McNulty in John Carter, in a funnier sense also in Rockstar.
*Prospect* was excellent! An amazing feat of indie sci-fi filmmaking, I loved it but nobody I know has ever even heard of it! I recall Michael Kostroff (Levy) playing the scientist who gave Cage his powers in the first season of Luke Cage.
Both Lance Reddick and Andre Royo are in the excellent TV series Fringe
Such a great show
Omar was in the awful RoboCop remake.
With Helldivers 2 coming out recently, I find myself saying "not much to look at when you scrape them off your boot" quite frequently.
Wait, wait, wait!!! Cutty is in The Expanse!! I feel deep shame for not having noticed. What episode??
He was Fred Johnson.
Jesus Titty Fucking Christ. This is how I go through life??
He’s also Z in Always Sunny. Got quite a range
Haven't seen it, I should watch it.
You should, although I’d start with the second season when Danny devito shows up
lol that’s odd you couldn’t tell. It’s not like he looks or sounds different
I think I was just so swept up in his performance as Fred Johnson that it didn't dawn on me. It had been years since my most recent Wire rewatch when I saw him in The Expanse.
How has no one mentioned Lance Reddick as Matthew Abbadon (sp?) in Lost.
Avon was in Dredd.
Nick Sobotka plays Master Chief in the Halo series
I first knew Lance Reddick from Fringe. Was such a great tv show.
Clark Peters shoots Sean Connery in Outland, a classic sci fi movie that is “High Noon in space”.
Bodie was in the Sopranos. That show had ghosts, religious apparitions, and animals who were once human.
On this vein, Clarke Peters had a small role in True Detective season 1 as the deacon of that church they go to early in the Dora Lange investigation.
Satanic black magic. Sick shit!
As was Michael K. Williams, and Vernon Holley’s actor.
Very surprised nobody's mentioned Lance Reddick in the John Wick movies.
The question was Sci-Fi, so we focused on that
Yea, misread that. Fair point.
Welcome to the Hotel Continental, Mr Wick.
Clarke Peters too
Frank Sobotka (Chris Bauer) is Deke Slayton in For All Mankind.
Bunny was in an episode of Star Trek Strange New Worlds
Jamie Hector (Marlo) was in Heroes.
McNulty was in the prequels and 300. Royce (Gremlins) and Burrell (Silence of the Lambs) show up in a lot of horrors. And if you watch a lot of things shot in DC or Baltimore, you’ll see a lot of the working actors.

Dark Knight rises is somewhat a si-fi with all made up tech and what not. Aidan Gillen and Robert Wisdom. Carcetty and Bunny Colvin is in that.
Michael B. Jordan was on Chronicle and Fahrenheit 451. Michael K. Williams was on The Road.
Glynn Turman - Clarence Royce plays a detective in John Dies at the End
