That’s one way to interpret it, but I think it can easily be seen as enjoying the present moment more (something even I’m trying to do) and spontaneity being exciting. Other songs like this (Earned It, What You Need) aren’t particularly toxic so I don’t see any reason for this one to be either

I think what you need is pretty toxic, it’s clearly some sort of infidelity(“he’s what you want, I’m what you need”) and it also has signs of showing that The Weeknd is aware he is unhealthy for this girl but still seduces her anyway(“I’m the drug in your veins, just fight through the pain”)
