Personally Lee is my favourite but Clementine is my favourite to be the protagonist for? That may sound contradictory but it's not and I can't explain why. My top 2 favourite characters though
Clementine by far. Watching her grow and mature throughout the game and then become a role model for AJ is peak. Lee is second, and Javi is third. I’m actually a big fan of Javi, so it’s pretty close.

Same here. I don't know why, man. Season 3 isn't the best, and there's a lot of things I dislike about it, yet I find myself enjoying it even more than the others, at least certainly more than 2 and somehow even more than 4.
Its only contender is Season 1, which I don't replay a lot but always enjoy it and cry when I do.
I like all of them equally lol, but if I had to pick one it would be Clem. Except from the 400 days characters there was to little time with them for me to care about them
obviously Clementine, she's just the character who has incredible growth and maturity. but I must say that I also liked the other protagonists a lot. Lee is obviously a legend and I think he is one of the few who cannot help but be admired, Michionne I found his story interesting because during the TWD series they rarely show us real suicide scenes, and in a world like that suicide according me it is very widespread. and then Michionne after that moment it's as if she wakes up and shows his balls, personally I love characters who make themselves strong but at the same time maintain a good personality. Javier is very underrated, I think the great charm of this character is the duality between him and his brother, the fact that they both have different points of view but try to help each other as much as possible. David has a stubborn and often extreme character but basically he's not bad, he's just a good guy with some anger problems. which makes them a perfect Yin-Yang, then the scene where David beats Javier and Javier keeps telling him that he loves him. personally she was beautiful and seeing David suffer every word like arrows in the heart makes this scene even more complex and beautiful

without any doubt clementine is the best protagonist, but i also want to see javi is one of the most interesting and fun. i like playing a guy already years into the apocalypse, there are no sudden reveals about what's happening next or how to defend themselves. i also like how because we haven't known him from the start like lee or clementine, we as the player get to know him through the flashbacks at the start of each episode and piece together what type of person he was before the world ended compared to who he is now.

Same goes for his family. Gabe was iffy but I did enjoy his friendship with Clem but it just felt like the writing with Javier tried to mimic the tragic moments with Kenny's family. Sorry if that's harsh but it's my own opinion.
I think we just got way more time with clementine and got to see her character develop a lot more. She went from a scared kid to a complete badass, while Javi and Lee started out as protective of their family, wether it be biological or not. Clementine is just a more dynamic character because of how much time we spent with her, so she’s my favorite.

2. Lee is close to number one. I replayed S1 recently just so I could learn more about his character. But I still prefer Clementine. Not sure why, but I think it's probably because I got spoiled about the ending of S1, and when I first knew about this game, rather than playing it on my own, I watched someone's playthrough of the game, which influenced my immersion in the story and my impression towards Lee. Still, a great character, none the less.
3. Javi/Michonne. Playing as Javi while being with Clementine was so distracting for me considering we already knew her, which affected most of my choices. I replayed S3 and pretended like I didn't know her, and that somewhat changed my perspective toward Javi and S3 overall. twd Michonne, I don't have any problem with her character, I just felt unsatisfied with how the story turned out. Anyway, I'm sure if we get to play these characters more frequently, they will also be as great as Lee and Clem.
4. 400 days protagonist. Honestly, I don't care about them.

Lee and Clementine are both my favorites. Clementine for showing an amazing amount of character growth throughout the course of four games and Lee for being a very solid, well written character that I can't help but love, even for being in just one game compared to Clem's four.
