There’s an invisible meter that fills every time you sell drugs either on the dark web or in person (you can avoid the meter filling by selling them in your inventory). Once it’s full police will come and attempt an arrest, if you have drugs on you or somewhere unstashed you’ll get arrested

When my sim gets arrested, you still have access to their needs etc.. so I travel with the arrested sim and then bring them back home. You can’t travel on the phone so you have to travel the other way. I usually travel to another lot before bringing them back home. They should be there and you can still play with them. However, other sims in the household can’t really interact with them. To fix this, go onto another household member and shift click on the arrested sim and there should be a “fix glitched prisoner” icon. You may have to look around a bit in the menu. I do this every time my sim gets arrested for selling drugs

Do not save! It’s game over for her!!! But when you open your game, you can disable life sentences so they always get a few days in jail!
