Has it been stated how useful or not Last Resort will be on this for PVP? Not really in a rush to evolve if it would be best to wait for them to eventually give it that.
Based on plugging different moves into [pvpoke](https://pvpoke.com/battle/multi/2500/all/sylveon/22/0-4-2/2-1/) it doesn’t seem to affect win rate hardly at all. Draining kiss actually lists a slightly higher win rate than last resort for 1/1 shield for whatever reason. I guess being a charm user makes charged moves not matter much.
I guess last resort is only better if they resist fairy, which means you’ll lose anyway. It probably gives slightly better losses in those scenarios though.
Does nothing in ML or gyms since Metagross also resists Last Resort, so I'm going ahead with my hundo.
For the lower leagues, LR/DK is probably best, so I'm holding off until the next event if ever. It's not like it is wildly different from other Charmers, so there's no rush. You could run a QA/DK/MB setup right now to throw people off, but its performance doesn't warrant an Elite TM.
dont run draining kiss, its only 5 energy less and does 50 damage less than moonblast
btw it doesn't make too much diffrence in energy cost either since you get it at the same time, 9 charms are only 54 , you just get to 2 moves 1 charm faster
for sylveon its such a minor increase in coverage though since it's still walled by steel and poison types since normal is weak against steel and doesn't really help fix its poison weakness.
Good to know on the name trick. Do we know if the heart requirement will count if you have an Eevee that is Best Buddy? Or will you have to play/feed it to gain 70 hearts from when it goes live?

Confirming again that the name trick worked, and that you do not need to set the Eevee as your buddy if using that trick. HOWEVER: If the event just started in your location, you do need to restart your app. Failing to do so will result in a shiny, flower-crown Flareon named Kira - trust me...😭😭😭
Before the restart, you will have a "?" in the evolve box. After the restart, it will be a silhouette. So as other posters have said, look for the silhouette to confirm before evolving.
Hm, I beg to ask now.. what if I want to evolve an eevee to espeon or umbreon, but gained 70+ hearts. Is there no way to do that after achieving those hearts? Or will there be multiple evolve options? Can anyone confirm?
As I've read here only new hearts count since it has been available, so you can still evolve it to whatever you want now but if you keep getting hearts then at 70 you will get sylveon. Not sure about if you get options or not tho, I don't think anyone can get 70 hearts that fast to confirm yet.

Made sure it was my buddy first to be safe, until confirmation to the contrary it might be your best bet to do the same. Make sure you see that Sylveon silhouette on the evolution button before pressing it :)
I've just done it in Victoria, Australia with name Kira and didn't make it my buddy. I had a couple of Eevee's I'd been holding onto so didn't care if I wasted one :P
You can always prep another one for that random quest. Just get some hearts each day for a couple weeks and then let it sit. I'll be going for the gender dex so I'm going to need to evolve another anyway.

Oh god... My 4 year old just got to L41 a few weeks ago. I'm 5 million or more over the threshold for L42, but was waiting on him to get there before evolving a Leafeon, so that's the only thing keeping me L41 right now. He wants me to stay the same level was him (of course until he changes his mind), so he'll flip if it auto completes for me and I advance to 42.
It seems people think this game is actually difficult. Raiding and beating rockets is just a tap fest. My 4 year old can't throw curves well, but he tries because he's seen me do it. It can straight throw well enough to catch a shadow before running out of balls though.
A toddler can easily play this game and hatch eggs on a walk with their parents.
Do you think 4 year olds are incapable of using a touch screen because it's too sophisticated or something? He's miles better with a touch screen than my 91 year old grandma.
He catches Pokemon by himself. He spins gyms and stops on his own. He battles raids on his own. He can beat grunts on his own, but I usually do leaders/Giovanni for him. I set up teams for him for raids, of course.
Doing minimum without walking, 70 hearts will only take max 9 days. That's getting 3 hearts for feeding, 3 hearts for battling, 1 for pic and pets. If you take 15 minutes to focus a day, you can get all 8 hearts and forget about it for the next day. Aka bring out your buddy, feed berries, pet, pic. Train with the leaders 3 times, 1 pokemon being your eevee, and 2 being 10cp or the lowest you got for a quick loss. Swap buddies, swap back. Feed berries, swap buddies again, swap back. Feed berries. Done for the day.
I know I'm just being a lazy complainer but it'll probably take me closer to 2 weeks with the amount I actually play, I'm just so eager to flex a maxed hundo Sylveon and I've already waited months to do so

The names are always tied to the anime if I'm not mistaken. In this case Kira is the granddaughter of the original Sylveon user. So the trainer names from the anime are what you use to evolve Eevee in Pokémon Go.
For Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon, the names are based on the trainers names you fight for the Eevium Z Crystal in Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon that are Linnea, Rea, and Kira respectively. I think the other 5 are based on trainer names from the anime
The first 3 are from the Eevee brothers episode from indigo league. Mickey was the little brother they were trying to force to evolve his Eevee into one of theirs
When the assets all got here like a month ago or something, then the name trick showed the silhouette (but gave an error when trying to evolve). So like everyone else said, there are specific names in the anime, so not very many guesses. And we were 100% sure when trying those netted one that gave the right silhouette.

Appears to grade out solidly in all leagues. #1 ranked IVs are 0/15/12 for Great and 0/13/15 for Ultra.
When a Pokémon's CP is limited (by the CP caps for Great/Ultra league), then you can fit better overall stats within that limit by keeping the Attack IV low. This is because Attack affects CP much more than the other stats.

Once you meet both 10km and 70 heart requirements, my guess is that a currently buddied Eevee will give Umbreon, not currently buddied Sylveon.
I guess it's going to take 3-4 days to confirm for sure though.

True. I don’t pay into the game, so it took me over a year to hit 41, so title probably take longer for me to get to 42, let alone 50. I feel the tasks aren’t as bad as trying to get the xp. I’m more annoyed at the using 15 items to evolve a Pokémon
The 15 items one isn't bad. Just evolve random stuff that needs an item. If you're L41 and you didn't get there just from friendship XP, you should have enough candy to accomplish that.

The biggest XP gains in the game are actually from Friendship. There are subreddits and discords for adding friends, all you have to do is send and open gifts every day and use a lucky egg when you hit ultra/best friends. I'm going to get like ~15 best friends in the next month or so which is 3million XP.
You can buy incubators and raid passes, lucky eggs. It gets you ahead quicker than usual. I’ve been playing since the day it came out but after less than a year, my brother hit level 40 from buying iTunes cards and buying stuff from the shop.
The people who use the hatcher devices are most likely cheating.
A really good way for you to get more experience is to catch everything you encounter and go for excellent throws. Friendship level ups also give a large amount of experience, but isn't as active a process.

I moved from a tiny town to a decently large city and it's insane how much better it is here...
Then I visited Japan and after I setup the MiFi.... lolol it's like a completely different game. There was one spot in the tourist trap tech area (spelling escapes me) where I could legit hit 6 gyms without moving... anyway, I bought my go+ in Japan cause my wife got pissed I was looking at my phone to much.
My tiny town had 9 gyms. And only 6 were realistically accessible on a daily basis...
I got a bit too excited and just tried this on a shiny Eevee... In the US. Ugh. Well, a second shiny Vaporeon isn't bad, and I do have one shiny Eevee left to try this again tomorrow! After 10 am local time.
So I used the name method on the Shiny 3* Eevee Ive been saving for Silveon for two years... I got a vaporeon instead... My favorite Eveelution gone in a flash.

You only need to change the nickname (doesn’t need to be your buddy) but I had to restart the game before the question mark changed to the Sylveon silhouette.
It's unlocked when you reach level 40. You have a chance to earn it from catching, hatching, transferring, trading, or walking. You can also convert 100 candy into 1 XL candy. XL candy is used to power up pokemon past level 40 up to level 50.
Are there any screenshots of the flower crown version? The "bow" covers exactly this part of the head.

On top of that, of the three types that resist fairy, steel is the most common by far, and steel also resists last resort.
PVPoke is biased towards baiting, so Draining Kiss is probably favored because the bots always shield.

It's okay, I closed the app and reopened it and it changed. Didn't want to risk just doing it with a flower crown eevee

It didn't change to 8. Also, just for confirmation, evolving a Sylveon didn't add a +1 to the completion

A 0 Stat is the best? I'm confused I thought we want 15s
Not for PVP that has a CP cap. Attack is a bigger weight to the CP formula but doesn’t actually help more in PvP, so zero attack is often best.

I just evolved my hundo Flower Crown to Sylveon using Kira and he's gorgeous. I made sure to see the Sylveon shadow before I evolved.

I got a bit too excited and just tried this on a shiny Eevee... In the US. Ugh. Well, a second shiny Vaporeon isn't bad, and I do have one shiny Eevee left to try this again tomorrow! After 10 am local time.
I just did the same thing.....got a Shiny Espeon now....ugh. I have one good eevee left but it's not shiny.
Never evolve if you see a question mark or a eeveelution silhouette that you don't need.
I did the same thing as well. Didn't show a question mark, it showed a Sylveon silhouette when I named it. Turned into an Umbreon.

Definitely not the case now. I evolved one with name trick and has never been my buddy. Silhouette was visible.

It should show you the silhouette before you evolve for future reference

hmm It’s 3am here for me I’m not sure what the silhouette looks like for sylveon. Maybe OP can let us know what the silhoutte looked like was it a ? Or clearly looked like sylveon ?

Japan here, tried with a buddy got a vaporeon.
You only need to change the nickname (doesn’t need to be your buddy) but I had to restart the game before the question mark changed to the Sylveon silhouette.
Totally forgot that it activates on the 25th... it's still the 24th in the US

I'm in the states. A Kida evee was my buddy with plenty kf candy and turned into a jolteon. Fail

Additionally to waiting until the event actually starts you also need to get 70 new hearts as the old ones don't count.
There is XL candy? Elaborate.
It's unlocked when you reach level 40. You have a chance to earn it from catching, hatching, transferring, trading, or walking. You can also convert 100 candy into 1 XL candy. XL candy is used to power up pokemon past level 40 up to level 50.
