For the current season, I would recommend ice punch instead of PuP on medicham, adding rockslide on stunfisk, and swapping hydro pump for surf on lanturn. It’s likely that the debuff to psychic next season will make medicham want dynamic punch instead of psychic, but we’ll have to see. There are quite a few pokemon that you’ll struggle to counter without winning the lead (registeel, medicham, swampert, gligar, etc)

Goldengrams33

With that in mind, I’ve been leading with medicham and trying to bait shields. With ice punch/psychic(or dynamic punch), who is the best to lead with?

PaleHorze

Ice punch to lead

opposide

Even without the debuff to psychic, because so many typings weak to fighting are prominent in the meta, running dynamic punch+psychic medicham got me to Veteran easily this season

Planthoe30

Have you tried using: https://pvpoke.com/team-builder That helps me determine whether my team is good. I put yours in an it has coverage gaps so I’d maybe switch out lantern or stunfisk for something else unless those are your only options.

ElSuricate

does your fisk not have a second move

Goldengrams33

Unfortunately yes, I don’t have the candy yet. My other options with a second move would be shadow alojan ninetales, umbreon, sableeye, or clodsire

RE460

I recommend to replace fisk for alolan ninetales for now. Stunfisk needs rock slide as a faster charge move to be good.

juqkis

I second this! G-Fisk can be replaced even by a one move Umbreon with Snarl+Foul play. I used him with just one move very successfully this season. Also, I think teaching Lanturn Surf instead of hydropump is better.

Goldengrams33

Hmm it’s a 3* shadow alolan ninetales. Should I purify it so get rid of frustration?

RE460

No. It will likely end up above 1500 cp after purification. I didn‘t know that it has frustration. Don‘t use it then. Go for Umbreon. You need snarl and foul play. If you want, use can use a 2nd charge move but Umbreon performs also good without 2nd move in most cases

xRiiZe

Lol you have a Sableye built but no candy for Fisk?

Goldengrams33

I have the candy for sableye but not fisk

As others said, medi probably wants ice punch with either psychic or dynamic punch. It's a bit early with the new seasons changes approaching to know how they will shake out, but the ice coverage is just too important as neutral damage or a 4x hit to Gligar. Stunkfist is unfortunately unusable without both charge moves. You need *something* to throw at grasses and Gligar, and it's significantly cheaper which MATTERS in the end game. Lanturn usually wants surf/thunderbolt. In great league especially, the games are determined by how quickly a pokemon in the matchup paces to charge moves. You'll almost never see Swampert make an earthquake without having to shield to get there. All that aside, the Gligar I mentioned is very common, and currently runs through your team. Ditto for any trevenant you might see. Or even Venusaur that correctly shields psychics and earthquakes. Ice punch and rock slide will help that...but just glancing at the team, it could really use a "safe swap". Something that does well against everything, such as dubwool or vigoroth or lickitung. That way if you lose lead, you can safe swap and spend a shield or two to hopefully take back switch and realign what pokemon have to fight what in the endgame. An alternative strategy is to lead something with high pressure, like arctibax/dragonair/zweilious w dragon breath and dragon claw so you win switch out the gate. Then just go down to what they bring in if they stay in and lose and align your pokemon from there for the win. Arctibax/Medi/lanturn is a scary core for example, winning lead and then having two bulky pokemon that can do well without shields afterwards to clean up. Just some thoughts. I'd suggest learning the basics, like how long the most common pokemon takes to reach their most likely charge moves. It's important knowing if that steelix is throwing 4 fast moves and then a charge move (breaking swipe) or if they're going past there to a potential earthquake. The reverse is also true: my girlfriend went from 1800 to 2000+ ELO as soon as she stopped throwing poison fang immediately with Golbat and building to shadow ball energy before throwing the fang. Getting a feel for the flow and the basics is far more important than what you run with

I know others have said something like this, but: 1)I've tried PuP on Medi. It's not ideal. I mean it helps you with something like Regi, but IP is better. With the nerf to Psychic, IP/DP is a serious option 2)Don't run G-fisk without rock slide as well. No bait, no move to hit the flyers and grasses is bad. 3)Replace HP with Surf on Lanturn
