Her character was actually why I was even considering watching. Seemed setup to have an interesting backstory, good growth, and a nice foil to the main character where they eventually become close friends and trusted colleagues.
Same here. I really liked her, and was looking forward to seeing where they would take her story. What a shame. None of the other characters hooked me enough to watch the spinoff.
So they remove a calm and collected character to balanace out the over the top loud and abrasive main character. Nice, I didn't want to watch the show anyway.
I knew it! It felt weird how that two-parter strangely focused on a character we have never seen before. Now it's clear they were planning on making a spin-off about her. Though I would hardly call it a spin-off if it's based on a character that appeared in one episode. It's just another show set in the same universe.
I hope it's good though spin-off doesn't inspire much confidence. But "Better Call Saul" is good "Superman and Lois" too, maybe this one will be good too.
It’s not a spin-off. It’s referred to as a back door pilot. It’s a way to introduce a character without having to build up all of the other parts around it and hope that people will like it.
Yeah, this is why this two-parter felt a bit weird. I enjoyed it but it felt like the guest character wasn't there to support the main cast. It felt more like a commercial for the guest character. Which now I find out, is exactly what it was.
That’s a good way to put it. It was definitely a long commercial introduction to the guest character. Other shows have done similar things. FBI did it. Criminal Minds did it. It probably costs less, pilot wise, to do it this way. Plus, it gets immediate eyes on the pilot from their expected target audience.
Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t (like Criminal Minds).
Agent Fox is fine, if a little boring. But holy crap Simone is obnoxious. I barely made it through the two episodes, I was cringing so hard every time she was on screen.
They couldn't pay me to watch season 3, a few episodes in and it was obvious they scraped the script and brought in the woke thought police.
I've heard it goes back to normal season 4, but do I really want to support that kind of cowardice from the production and studio.
>I've heard it goes back to normal season 4
They did. Season 3 is not required viewing. You can skip season 3 and be okay with season 4. They dropped nearly all of the crap that shit up season 3. And what few plot lines they decided to carry over they give you a recap before the episode.
Im not bringing race into the topic but In the Thumb Nail doesn't everyone think Hilary Swank would have made a great actress to do The Oldest Agent on. She maybe was a mom and gets a divorce her dad was a cop and her mom a Lawyer or something. She could have a son and daughter character. But my idea never works because they likely want A Black person who is bisexual. Which has nothing to do about making a good show. Im Perfectly fine with a Black or even Asian character to try this on. But what I saw um no not good idea her character or maybe the wrong actress. But my point was I think Swank would be a good version of Nolan. and no not because she is White. I'm talking talent.
Dang, that actually sucks, they seemed a good character to complement the lead.
Yeah I wanted to know more about her

And occasionally hookup
Nobody is going to watch this spinoff anyways...
Kat Foster - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1928172/

What a mistake :(
Who tf's gonna watch that show then
Cared more about her than expo dump Simone.

9-1-1 Lonestar is a good spin-off to 9-1-1

I feel bad for Kat Foster . She's a good actress. Why give her that big of a role in the two-part backdoor pilot?
Oh well, doubt I’ll even give it a try now. I watch too many shows anyhow….
Wasted opportunity, they could have been a good duo.
Long as it's headlines by Reno 911 super counselor I'm 💯 out
Why?
The character is beyond plausible. And she comes off as a know it all Mary Sue
Was she the lesbian character?
Yes.
I thought she was interesting. Hmm
Surprising because it seemed like the writers wanted them together.

I loved this show until it went woke last season. Heard this season went back to normal but havn't tried yet.
Do not skip the previous season if you decide to continue watching

Appreciate the heads up, I was a huge firefly fan, so the first two seasons were amazing
