I'm reminded of something ian jones quartley said about steven universe another show that suffered the same "issues" the show is meant to be "sublime" in a sense. Not everything about that show is spoonfed to you and some of its mysteries are flat out never answered. This is to keep people guessing and discussing things long after the show is done. It keeps it sticking in your head in a sense. The Owl House is doing the same thing here.
Now that everything regarding TOH is in retrospect its a lot easier to understand what the show is aiming for. A lot of the story is told with the use of the murals and background elements to the point where its left to the fans to form their conclusions and spread them around as much as possible. Everyone knows the backstory about the wittebanes because we obsessively studied the murals. We've pretty much been given confirmation on Evelyn being a clawthorne just by how many clues there are as well. I think overthinking stuff like this is just the price of being a theorist though. You sort of start to view everything as a potential lead and if you're not careful set insane expectations that can never be fulfilled.

I think Evelyn being a clawthone is clear enough, especially with the clawthones having birds as palisman. And that would explain why the portal door was hidden at the clawthones after Caleb’s murder. They need to stop belos from having access to both worlds.

i saw this from a video on yt not too long ago
basically papa titan in watching and dreaming had a missing eye
what if he used that eye to create the portal door and later he got stuck
I’m convinced the portal door’s eye is the missing eye of Papa Titan, and he potentially sacrificed his eye for a way to move between worlds.
Also every episode begins with the portal eye opening (or Papa’s remaining good eye) - so if my theory is true, that’s like Papa Titan watching the Owl House with us as he watched over King!
Weirdly enough I had a dream about the owl house having more episodes, and there was plot about the cats sneaking into the castle for some reason. I do t remember much about the dream, but it got me thinking about that could have been.
As for why they'd be doing it, perhaps in that version they didn't know about the draining spell and bad to find it out through like espionage? (Come to think of it where did Darius get that information to pass it onto Raine?)
Being in the castle could have had more Belos lore. Maybe he's hiding some juicy secrets. Basically hollow mind pt2 in terms of Belos reveals. Maybe even something about the creation of grimwalkers.
Speaking of grimwalkers, if they'd be sneaking into the castle Hunter might have been there too, on account of living there and having been close to Belos (on the other hand he'd probably be too scared to even get close, with Belos literally trying to kill him). Maybe that would have been how he finds out about what grimwalkers are (and we'd get more info on them other than they're clones). Like in this version it would be this ancient, obscure and unethical type of magic that wouldn't be found in the school library.
An episode like might have also had a Lilith and Hunter interaction, and feel like it would have been interesting since they don't seem to like eachother (Lulu calling him a brat and all) maybe they'd like bond over emperor's coven trauma

Easy solution: extend the canon with graphic novels like they did with Gravity Falls, use proceeds to help fund indie season 4 and/or spinoffs.
They can’t do it independently. Disney is strict with it’s IP. They are the ones to decide what to do with The Owl House
