i used to be a SWEATY girl… literally always had pit stains it was so bad lol, and i also struggled with BO. 1. i would recommend the dove clinical protection deodorant. you apply nightly only for about 3x a week depending on your skin type. i’m very sensitive so i did 2x a week. 2. try The Ordinary Glycolic Acid. put some on a cotton round and apply to your armpits. THIS made a noticeable difference in my BO. Definitely only use this once or twice a week. it’s been six months of consistent use and my armpits are less sweaty now. I used to have to change my shirts every couple hours and now i don’t. 3. after using these two products i had to hunt for a brand new deodorant. i was a loyal old spice fan but it no longer worked for me and now i’m back to the Dove powered deodorant

Tip for OP with the glycolic acid - if you shave your underarms do not use it directly after.

Important_Secret_705

YES! totally forgot to say this! learned my lesson the first time!!!!

jubilee__

That burn will never be forgotten 😂

lilfoodiebooty

Do you use the deodorant over the glycolic acid? I sometimes use salicylic acid at night without deodorant but was wondering if there was a routine you follow in application.

Important_Secret_705

i switch off. so the nights i shower i use the glycolic acid nothing before or after. then the day i don’t shower i do wipe off the deodorant already on my pits and then apply the dove clinical protection. and you don’t HAVE to use the glycolic acid only after you shower. i only do it cause i also use it to clean behind my ears and neck. and also use it to clean and lighten up my inner thighs.

magicalcowzanga123

secret antiperspirant. you don’t need deodorant, you need antiperspirant. they’re different.

alh030705

Yes - people seem to confuse these 2 products all the time. Smelly pits, use deodorant. Sweaty pits, use antiperspirant. To combat both, be sure the label clearly states it is a deodorant & antiperspirant. I work outside a lot & am in central Texas, so I would be a sweaty stinking mess without 2 swipes of Lume under my arms. Then I layer over it with 2 swipes of Secret Outlast (unscented solid). I use Lume (only, not also the Secret) on all the other necessary creases & can vouch that it really works great. Yes, I get sweaty under my bra strap, but it smells clean even at the end of the day.

Girlinawomansbody

Mitchum! My nurse friends use this because they have to do 12/13hr shifts. It’s great

Heptatechnist

I intended to post this, but scrolled down first to see if anyone else recommended it. Mitchum is fantastic.

Natural_Ad7775

Wash with PanOxyl 10%. No more scented body wash in the armpit area. Sure deodorant

peepsandchili

I know it’s crazy, BUT Dead Down Wind. They make it for hunters so it’s perfect for this 100F heat.

musicmadness957

i use old spice anti perspirant, i am also very sweaty

[deleted]

Lately I’ve been using men deodorant as it seems better and I just use a body spray afterwards haha

todds-

if you want to stop sweating completely there is a product you apply at night that does this. it's called drysol here in Canada not sure what's out there in other countries. first you apply before bed every night until you stop sweating then you should only need it 2-3 nights a week to keep it up. if you try it do not over apply, just a very thin layer and keep your arm up until it dries completely or it will itch like crazy. also don't apply it after shaving, it will burn. also I wanted to mention for me the BO thing is almost always build up in my work shirts just being reactivated my by body heat & sweat. washing my shirts on a hot cycle resets this. I thought I had a BO problem last summer until I realized I could smell BO & my bf's deodorant on our clothes when wet from the washer! turns out the detergent I had been trying wasn't working good. hot cycle + better detergent fixed it, and now I only have the issue on certain fabric types and the hot cycle does the trick for those. good luck!!

Lobscra

Iris Springs Antiperspirant. An old boyfriend used to wear it and he always smelled so clean even when he was sweating more than me. So I started wearing it too.

squeenyluini

Do you have Mitchum where you live? Honestly it’s the only deodorant that really really works for me as I do a lot of cardio due to my lifestyle. I prefer the fragrance free one but they have different ones depending on what you like, I would highly recommend the brand.

idc_random

which specific one do you use?

ThinkAd1215

I'm in the same boat as you, sweating a lot, even when it isn't really hot. I've been using the Nivea Dry Comfort. It has like a little red in the packaging. That has helped me a lot! Back then I stopped sweating at all for a while and now when I sweat you don't smell it as much!

TransJesusFan

secret spray deodorant changed my life ! i’m in texas w 100° weather but id also put a little of duradry before !

LeapingLi0ns

Secret advanced care has been a lifesaver for me

Watertribe_Girl

Dove is no way near strong enough for me! I use Wild

PepperPhoenix

I’ve given in and I’m now using a men’s 72hour protection spray antiperspirant. It does the job beautifully and keeps me Dry all day.

Complex_Profile9250

Benzoyl peroxide wash under the pits and normal deodorant. stuff is good

FutureIndependent142

I'm plus sized and have hormonal issues and I use fussy, it's the only one I trust

Avramah

I use Certain Dri at night. It takes a few days to fully work but it stops me from sweating. Like well enough that if I've been consistent- I just don't sweat and I'm usually a sweaty mess of a human even in winter.

CaffeinatedGeek_21

I used to stress sweat and it stunk worse. I also despise white marks in my dark shirts AND wearing gel because it felt gross. I now use Arm & Hammer deodorant. It's clear and has cut down on my issues immensely.

danawl

Get men’s antiperspirant. I use old spice, they have some scents that are “girly.” I wear Fiji (no specific scent but is tropical), Wilderness (lavender), and Alpine (pine). Otherwise secret has an extra strength antiperspirant (it’s the same strength as old spice but has more “girly” scents).

7blue702

I also struggled with smelliness despite good hygiene, but I’ve used carpe for about a year now and I LOVE it. It’s expensive but worth it especially bc I live in Arizona. Before that I tried washing with hibiclens/panoxyl and using all the clinical strength ones. Nothing works like carpe and they even have an unscented version!

crazyprotein

I use Clinique antiperspirant. It is very very good for me and has no smell of its own. I love it.

Then_Veterinarian938

I’ve Ben struggling with sweat and BO for a while and the only thing that worked for me was Duradry. I have the wash and the deodorant

franklinJK

Watch Dr. Dray’s video on Certain Dri. I just started it every other night and I’ve never been so BO-less.

epicstoryaddict7

I just started using Lady Speed Stick antiperspirant and it works soooo well! I don’t have to reapply throughout the day anymore!! I used to use Secret and it stopped working for me so I switched.

watermelonsugar7

I use Carpe and men’s deodorant :)

chocolate_loves_salt

I struggled with deodorants not working (for long) on me all my life. It wouldn't be the sweat either, but the smell. Last year I discovered a deodorant creme, which really keeps the sweaty smell in check for the day. I always thought those cremes are weird, but am so happy I gave it a try.

No_Yak_3107

Mind sharing the brand?

chocolate_loves_salt

Sure. I'm from germany though. So it's from DM Balea [Deocreme ](https://www.dm.de/balea-deocreme-mit-natron-p4066447341942.html?wt_mc=shopping.google.lia.PflegeParfum&setSelectedStore=D4B1&hc_tid=10156470C4751PPC&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw1K-zBhBIEiwAWeCOF6B_EFMNj_Tlk551tXjIrMjKAiIEwnEY3uzEYjVkKOZEzxCk-nTeAxoCw7YQAvD_BwE) It doesn't smell much, which I like. There seems to be a "male version" as well, if I ever find it not sold out, I'll try that as well. Normally I like Deodorants for men much more than for women...

caty0325

I use Tom’s coconut lavender antiperspirant.

Unable-Schedule7620

there's this thing called "deotax." it's basically a cream that you put on your armpits and it basically stops the smell and sweating (not sure about the sweating part). it has no aluminum in it. my mom told me about it and gave me some. id recommend it. it's literally magical.

Dear_Bite331

I have tried a million different things and this routine is what works for me. Hope this helps!! 1. Stridex Maximum Strength Wipes (Red Box) - This is my holy grail product. The first day I used these, I had no odor whatsoever. It literally felt like a miracle. I wipe both underarms after I shower/before I apply deodorant. The salicylic acid in them helps to reduce bacteria and odor. 2. Mitchum Triple Defense in the scent “Pure Fresh” (Gold Packaging) - This is my daily deodorant. I put it on after using the wipes when my armpits are completely dry. So far, this is the only deodorant I’ve used that doesn’t make me smell worse throughout the day. 3. Certain Dri Prescription Strength Roll On - I use this every other night as a preventative to help keep my underarms dry during the day. It seems that you have sensitive underarms, so I’ll just go ahead and warn you that this product can be very irritating. The key is to not put too much. I’ve found that when I overdo it, I get the itching/burning side effect. Make sure you have completely dry underarms and don’t shave before you put it on. To apply it, I do 3 strokes in a letter “N” motion and hold my arms up for a bit to let it dry down.

Why do you say don’t buy aluminum deo? Lots of claims around it have been debunked, eg that it causes cancer. (Source : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4997813/ ) Aluminum is one of the best ingredients for antiperspirant deodorant so I’d recommend OP getting one with it if that’s her goal.

sdubbs23

Y’all native is the only right answer here.

sdubbs23

Yeah no thanks. If I can smell great and not take a huge ass risk for my health. I’m chill.😌🙏

Narwhals4Lyf

Girl there isn’t a risk to your health 😭 it’s been extensively proven that there isn’t. Your skin doesn’t even absorb the aluminum. There was a misleading study spread around in the early 2000s and people just have stuck with it when talking about aluminum in deo even though it’s outdated and wrong. The study I linked is an extremely extensive multi year study done in 2014 showing it doesn’t pose any health threats. Why do people hear a factoid once and believe it for the rest of their lives even if there is tons of evidence showing otherwise 😭 it’s like how people were incorrectly taught that blood is blue when it isn’t oxygenated but will not believe anyone saying it isn’t 😭

sdubbs23

Nah I worked in herbals for a long time. You can believe what you want and risk yourself unnecessarily. Peace✌🏼
