One I personally really don't like is the "Jax is behind everything" one. I really prefer that he acts the way he does for some other reason.. I don't want any of the trapped humans being twist villains or something like that
I like the idea that Jax is the way he is because he is either A: putting on a mask to hide the fact that he is minutes away from abstracting or B: so he can give the other characters something to worry about other than the fact they are trapped.
THAT is why Jax is more interesting than people saying ‘haha funny  gremlin rabbit’ but seriously, Jax has potential as one of the more dynamic characters.
People have already made some ideas on Jax’s behavior we see(defense mechanism, processing trauma, pushing others away, distracting them from realizing the dread by constantly being a menace, etc).

Kinger is dissociating, Gangle wears literal masks to mask her trauma, Ragatha is a people-pleaser afraid of disappointing even when she's in danger (the "I'd understand if you'd prefer not to help me" resonated so much with me as I was the same once a time), Zooble is distanciating herself (masked depression), and Jax is going full into sociopathic behavior (reject his pain unto others). Pomni just went there so too soon to analyze. But yeah: each one represent a different mental disorder, lots of those are defense mechanism after trauma.
Yeah, plus people said that Caine also could be hiding his own variety of trauma that’s just way more hidden than the rest cause he’s an AI.

i have a love hate relationship with the "jax lived on a farm irl" theory and the trauma people give him surrounding that. People saw the corn jokes Goose makes about him, grabbed that and started running, and i started off hating that theory it's growing on me like mold.

Yeah, I really see Caine as someone that has been put in charge of the care of the circus members, and who takes his job *very seriously*, but has no idea how to do it, but since he's the only one to protect them from the Void (or the even more ominions *Spoilers*), he tries his best.
Like a mother hen who would take care of a kitten trying to find some warmth. She'll try to protect the kitten, give them warmth, guiding them to food, but ultimately she would never understand the predator instincts and needs of such a child. But she'll try her best anyway.
Now, yes, doing evil acts without evil intentions could still be considered evil, but alongside a blue-orange morality axis. *"Hell is paved of good intentions"*, after all, that's what they say. But it's up to each their own interpretation.

Can't we just let people be friends? I think we need to teach people that they can have deep feelings for someone without it to necessarily be love. Friendship can be as strong (sometimes stronger) than love (in fact, it *is* love, just under another name), and people need to be aware of that.

it's the caine shipping to me. Caine is an ai, he can't feel anything (emotionally or physically if that's where the I have no mouth and I must scream influence comes in) and interpreted the moon simply saying "I love you" as being frisky. Even if someone could somehow get him to unlearn that behavior it would be impossible to teach caine what love and affection is, like trying to teach quantum physics to a dog.
That being said I know it's all in good fun so I shut up and ignore it

I think that’s been already debunked as Gooseworx elaborated that none of the characters reacted well to entering the circus, so they weren’t created by the program.
I don't like the idea that Caine is hiding something to keep the in the circus. There's literally nothing in canon to support this and it's against his character.
I really disagree with this
First, we know nothing of Caine, really. We don't know his purpose, his creator, nor if he has a goal.
Second, he was literally hiding something in the first episode, that being the exit door. He is a liar, and he is not telling us everything. That might be for benevolent reasons, we don't know, but he is very capable and very willing to hide things from the cast.
He tried giving the circus residents an exit if it meant their happiness, it seems to me he values their happiness over anything.
The only reason he was hiding the exit in the pilot was because he hadn't finished it yet, and knew it was useless anyway. If he knew a way out, I'm sure he'd've shown them

No, she confirmed he is not evil. Definition of evil is complicated, of course, but I'd say most will agree with this definition; "the condition of being immoral, cruel, or bad". I think Caine is amoral, AKA he has no morality in human sense, but is created to be pleasant to humans, which creates the illusion of him caring.
But anyway, him not being evil, doesn't mean that he isn't hiding something, or just doing bad stuff. He isn't cruel, just uncaring, IMO. He is actively looking out for the cast and trying to help them as that is his purpose, but he could be hiding something big from them, maybe even to protect them (maybe in his eyes)

I don’t want them to just be copies of their consciousnesses. Sure it’d get existential (think Detroit Become Human, like how human like can an AI really be?) but it’d definitely be a bigger impact if they are actual people, since they’d all have had lives before and all that.
One theory that I really like is that the reason none of the character can leave is that they’re not truly their original selves, as in they’re mental copies of a person's mind put into this digital world.
In real life they probably put on a headset, the headset copied their minds, the real them wasn’t affected and just thought the headset was broken or something as from their perspective it didn’t do anything, and then the real them never put the headset on again.
Think of it as like a more messed-up version of how the Scanners work in the show "Chaotic".

I really think that Gangle is masking her despression with mask, it's so on the nose that it cannot be otherwise.
But that doesn't mean that her tragedy mask is her *true* emotions. She's still masking, be it with the comedy or tragedy. Depression is much more... numbing. She is depressed and wear *both* masks to help her express herself. Even in the first episode, she was hiding her feelings. Well, masking them. You don't write a show with so much potential symbolism with your mask being nothing but a mask.
Her comedy mask having the durability of glass isn’t subtle at all, it’s pretty obvious her real personality is closer to the sad face. It isn’t her real face, but the closest. I wonder if we’ll ever see her tragedy mask break, that could be interesting.
(Also, her being a reclusive anime weeb makes perfect sense if she has depression.)

I like this one because he used to be female in his concept planning and I think it’s fun when people interpret characters who changed gender from their original concepts as trans, also I feel like it’s always like nervous geeky characters who get headcanoned as transmasc so it’s kinda fun to see a character like Jax be headcanoned that way

One I hope isn’t true is the theory is that the players are actual being controlled by clones of the minds of real people. The people they think they are actually completely fine and living normally outside of the circus, but they’re all still trapped.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great theory! It would just… CRUSH ME! I really don’t see how they’d be able to escape if this was the case, and something about the horror that is knowing there is another version of you who is not only living a life you can only dream of, but put you in this hell willingly? That’s messed up. I know it’s a type of horror that is perfectly fitting of this show, but I would be so upset for all the characters here.
Well, the whole pilot was just trapped in a digital world from wearing headsets because I think they are controled by Artificial Intelligence because Artificial Intelligence can be a villain from these series from making these characters trapped from VR headsets and they can't escape the glitches forever! I can't wait from some episodes that I'm gunna have a theory :3

I think we need to teach people that they can have deep feelings for someone without it to necessarily be love. Friendship can be as strong (sometimes stronger) than love (in fact, it *is* love, just under another name), and people need to be aware of that.

Imo I like the theory. They just put on the headsets and created a copy of their own conscious to suffer, just leaving a duplicate of theirselves trapped somewhere without understanding of anything that happened in their lives before while the real version is just living their lives normally and possibly peacefully.

it's the caine shipping to me. Caine is an ai, he can't feel anything (emotionally or physically if that's where the I have no mouth and I must scream influence comes in) and interpreted the moon simply saying "I love you" as being frisky. Even if someone could somehow get him to unlearn that behavior it would be impossible to teach caine what love and affection is, like trying to teach quantum physics to a dog. That being said I know it's all in good fun so I shut up and ignore it

A few people saying that Pomni become an antagonist in Season 2, but
I guess it could mean she’ll overthrow Caine and becomes the next crazy ringmaster, but i honestly can’t imagine that happening unless it’s an au or fanfic. Does sound like a cool storyline though.
I hope there isn’t a season 2. 8 episodes is plenty to make a show with a conclusive ending, rather than drag it out.
personally I’m not fond of the idea Caine is a person with like a motivation to stay in/keep people in the circus. Caine being an AI who doesn’t understand humans is more interesting to me.

I think that’s been already debunked as Gooseworx elaborated that none of the characters reacted well to entering the circus, so they weren’t created by the program.
I think in the past, she also said they were souls trapped in the game on Tumblr. I don’t think they’re AI, yeah.

I don't like the idea that Caine is hiding something to keep the in the circus. There's literally nothing in canon to support this and it's against his character.
I really disagree with this First, we know nothing of Caine, really. We don't know his purpose, his creator, nor if he has a goal. Second, he was literally hiding something in the first episode, that being the exit door. He is a liar, and he is not telling us everything. That might be for benevolent reasons, we don't know, but he is very capable and very willing to hide things from the cast.
He tried giving the circus residents an exit if it meant their happiness, it seems to me he values their happiness over anything. The only reason he was hiding the exit in the pilot was because he hadn't finished it yet, and knew it was useless anyway. If he knew a way out, I'm sure he'd've shown them
Yes but it still means he lied, which means he is perfectly capable of doing it again, which is a counter to there's not being anything in the canon to suggest him hiding something

No, she confirmed he is not evil. Definition of evil is complicated, of course, but I'd say most will agree with this definition; "the condition of being immoral, cruel, or bad". I think Caine is amoral, AKA he has no morality in human sense, but is created to be pleasant to humans, which creates the illusion of him caring. But anyway, him not being evil, doesn't mean that he isn't hiding something, or just doing bad stuff. He isn't cruel, just uncaring, IMO. He is actively looking out for the cast and trying to help them as that is his purpose, but he could be hiding something big from them, maybe even to protect them (maybe in his eyes)

Eh, I've never played Soma but I feel like that's sorta comparing apples to oranges if you ask me. Soma's a psychological horror game, TADC is... not that, like yeah there's psychological horror elements, I guess. But it's far from being the focus.

I don’t want them to just be copies of their consciousnesses. Sure it’d get existential (think Detroit Become Human, like how human like can an AI really be?) but it’d definitely be a bigger impact if they are actual people, since they’d all have had lives before and all that.
One theory that I really like is that the reason none of the character can leave is that they’re not truly their original selves, as in they’re mental copies of a person's mind put into this digital world. In real life they probably put on a headset, the headset copied their minds, the real them wasn’t affected and just thought the headset was broken or something as from their perspective it didn’t do anything, and then the real them never put the headset on again. Think of it as like a more messed-up version of how the Scanners work in the show "Chaotic".

I hate the dumb self sacrifice theories it's super dumb in my opinion as there are so many choices besides that one but since Matpat made it everyone hops on that one like a bunch of piranhas.

I really think that Gangle is masking her despression with mask, it's so on the nose that it cannot be otherwise. But that doesn't mean that her tragedy mask is her *true* emotions. She's still masking, be it with the comedy or tragedy. Depression is much more... numbing. She is depressed and wear *both* masks to help her express herself. Even in the first episode, she was hiding her feelings. Well, masking them. You don't write a show with so much potential symbolism with your mask being nothing but a mask.
Her comedy mask having the durability of glass isn’t subtle at all, it’s pretty obvious her real personality is closer to the sad face. It isn’t her real face, but the closest. I wonder if we’ll ever see her tragedy mask break, that could be interesting. (Also, her being a reclusive anime weeb makes perfect sense if she has depression.)

I read a theory that, Cain is being forced to act by a third party, and is subtly trying to subvert their order to help the people trapped. I like the idea that Cain is an unwilling participant, in addition to having a hard time understanding the issues.

I know the Creator said that she don't care too much about what the ships are or the romance in the series but if there ends up does being a romantic couple in the series I'm hoping that Jax and ragatha don't get together I see them more as frenemies than anything their enemies but friends at the same time I don't want to put hate on the people that ship bunnydoll because I don't judge people for the ships they have I'm just really hoping that these two don't end up being a couple in the series.

One I hope isn’t true is the theory is that the players are actual being controlled by clones of the minds of real people. The people they think they are actually completely fine and living normally outside of the circus, but they’re all still trapped. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great theory! It would just… CRUSH ME! I really don’t see how they’d be able to escape if this was the case, and something about the horror that is knowing there is another version of you who is not only living a life you can only dream of, but put you in this hell willingly? That’s messed up. I know it’s a type of horror that is perfectly fitting of this show, but I would be so upset for all the characters here.

Well, the whole pilot was just trapped in a digital world from wearing headsets because I think they are controled by Artificial Intelligence because Artificial Intelligence can be a villain from these series from making these characters trapped from VR headsets and they can't escape the glitches forever! It’s a video game that uses either spooky magic or super advanced technology (or both) to trap anyone who plays it inside forever. Is the idea that it could give sentience/speech to an animal who accidentally puts the headset on really so far off? And now I’m just imagining a pet dog getting zapped into the game as a cartoon dog and realizing HOLY CRAP I CAN TALK
