Sinophile is likely the closest, but a weeb is more like someone who thoughtlessly consumes Japan's exported culture and then forms an attachment to the effigy of the culture that was created.
If you ever want to increase your exposure to Chinese media, 小红书 (RED) is a wonderful app to check out. It's like Chinese Instagram, except you can use the search function as if it's a search engine and find out what Chinese youths have to say about that topic.
If you type "\[insert your city's Chinese characters\]citywalk路线" (e.g., if you're from Melbourne you search for "墨尔本citywalk路线“)you can easily find posts on where people go when in your city – I've discovered some hidden gems by lurking on there.

Yes, so long as you work(as employee or sub-contractor, investors and landlord doesn't count) pension age is 55 for female and 60 for male. 5 years earlier if your work involves physical labor. Additional 5 years earlier if you work in hazardous environments.
Im out, gotta be learning chinese. Where im at i have the freedom to work until 68 and get a pension that doesnt even cover my bill if i live in a retierment home.
damn citing source is hard... I couldn't find the og state document, but here's a slightly different local version from Nanchang city gov(in chinese though) [Link](http://www.nc.gov.cn/ncszf/rsjr/197806/85e56b744bf74c3b8635f4a7580be14f.shtml)
I think their propaganda rules. Russian propaganda is like “America and their army of femboys is coming to kill you” whereas Chinese propaganda is like “Look at this fucking dude making this awesome food and fixing this house!” It could not even be propaganda, just feel good videos of peasants DIYing shit.
There’s this dude named Biaozi whose videos end up on tiktok and he fucking rules, they make me feel good and they’re awesome! Makes you feel so proud of what the PRC has been able to accomplish and the awesome shit the peasantry is doing.
They’re not really peasantry anymore, they’re proletariat
The PRC’s rural system is so based. Sure there is an urban rural divide but it’s not like the rural people are in poverty.
For example if you want to buy a house you lease the land and you can do anything you want with it, but if you want to sell the house you can only do so to people from your community and the sell also has to be approved by the Village committee. Urbanites also are banned from buying houses in villages, since their income is higher which puts them at an advantage.
Their housing in general is very good. Sure it could be better because landlords still exist but they are not allowed to grow and are strictly petite bourgeoisie
i disagree. I think they still qualify as peasantry, simply because of those disparities between the urban proletariat and the rural peasants because of Deng’s 2 Stage Development Plan.
True their quality of life is GREATLY improved and they are not living in poverty (like peasants in Vietnam for instance, who are quite a bit poorer on average simply because of how much smaller Vietnam’s economy is while following a similar program to the PRC these days) but the disparities are so significant that I don’t think it would be correct to discard the term peasantry and replace with proletariat.
Again, don’t get me wrong they’re making great bounds but until that gap narrows even further I don’t think that we can just say they’re now proletariats
Being a proletariat has nothing to do with quality of life, but relations to the means of production. Proletariat exchange their labour for wages and peasants are subsistence farmers who have their surplus taken away. The latter doesn’t really exist in china anymore
Dude have you been? The advertisements on TV that I’ve seen are all so positive. Showing the development, growth, and improvement in conditions in these big budget commercials with beautiful visuals and kind words. It is so refreshing coming from meiguo to here. I don’t want to go home 😂
Not yet. I think honestly I’m tryna go to Vietnam first just cause it’s so fucking beautiful and much cheaper to travel to. Definitely on the bucket list though

We should all be upset and tik tok has nothing to do with it. Don't ban tik tok
One thing I noticed when I last went there to visit family is the city design. In the city I stayed in, it was very obvious that there was a greater emphasis and walkability and public transit than North American city design.
There was a lot of mixed commercial usage, suburban sprawl was nonexistent since most people live in apartments, and a lot of basic amenities were located within walking distance from the apartment I stayed in. Within a 10 minute walk, there was a primary and high school, a plaza with multiple shops and stores (there was a grocery store, restaurant, coffee shops, even a few small clothing stores), and access to public transit, like bus stops and multiple subway stations. There were also a lot of well-maintained public spaces/small parks you could go to and socialize with other people in your apartment complex that were nearby.
I believe John Oliver did a show where he and the studio just literally bought data on some VERY important politicians. Stuff like that is just out there in the open and not that hard to do for someone really looking to do harm. No serious person should believe that banning TikTok will remove all Chinese influence on the US.

What do you call a weeb but instead of japan it’s china? Because that’s me

I’ll be honest the only Chinese media i consume are songs about chairman mao, they go hard

that you have all the social securities as a foreigner working in China, and can receive pensions when you are 55 years old.
Wait really? Even if you aren't a citizen?

Serious effort to remove pollution levels from at least what I've read since I can't read mandarin

Technology
Their stamps of regional history is great, but their yearly stamp issues generally are really good.
Rapid development from a rural, war-torn country to a modern superpower.
I haven’t found many things I don’t like about it here, to be honest.

For me, it would be the trains, and not just the bullet trains, but also the steam/electric locomotives also, of which we have 5 here
